Great video on methods you can use to check your suspension alignment. Look forward to your next drifting day. I am green with envy at your car control skills 😁
Funny how many garages with professional kit will do a far worse job, so don't knock your setup. Have a look at an early Focus sometime for interest where you also have the rear adjustment to play with (Ok its useless for drifting. Somebody will now prove me wrong with 4WD)
If you want to do tracking on the cheap sit the car on some MDF, level the car with a decent spirit level. Then To set your camber a straight bar with a piece of angle iron welded 90° with a home made board with at least 0-6° measurement a plumb bob mounted at zero which should show your camber, which can then be set.
Then find 4 traffic cones, 2 lengths of string. Tie the string, so they are level to the centre of all the wheels, front to rear then measure so the string is at the centre of rear l&r wheel"s and front l&r and make sure the measurements are equal from string to centre. Then you can measure with a rule or vernier either side of the wheel then the split the difference( i.e /2) and that is your toe.
This is the oldskool way and still extremely accurate!!!
Great video dude. Just a heads up...Rear wheel drive cars require a toe in (not out). Escort manual says that the range is from 0-6.5mm. 👍
For a standard road car
I prefer a bit of tow out for better grip when turning into a corner, and also when transitioning on drift. 👍
FYI, two different tape measures may not indicate the same distance. Use one tape measure if possible.
Awesome video as always mate! I can confirm that they definitely do work and make a difference!!! It rains in Mexico too!!!!!👍🏻👊🏻🤣
Thanks Jonny! 👍 We defo made good use of the new arms during our trip to ‘Mexico’ the other day! 😀🇲🇽
Thank you Marcus excellent content. Cheers
Thanks for watching mate! 👍
Nice upgrades and nice to see the good dounuts
Had to do a few doughnuts seeing as I went all the way to ‘Mexico’ 😀🇲🇽
Awesome Marcus 👍🏽👍🏽
👍👍😀
Nice one mate job done 💯👍👍
👍👍👍
Nice job once again Marcus
Thanks Wayne! 👍
My pleasure Marcus
did you eye up the 4x2 to check if it's straight ? being a chippy i'd say most are out :(
The wood was just a quicker way to get it almost right before using the toe plates. 👍
@@marcushayesfordAppreciate it wasn't intended to be a precision job. Just for anyone doing this, when you buy wood put one piece against another to check straightness, then try another. Don't do this while the shop is busy. Accept none will be perfect. CLS timber (C24 is best grade) has nice round edges for handling (your hands) and planed smooth.
What a great video mate , and those steering arms look a great piece of kit and well made , I am now following donut motorsport well done on sharing the company as I wouldn’t have known about them , well done pal and enjoy 😉 in Mexico 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ps how are you getting on with the welded diff ? I welded mine up the other week and have been busy painting the axle up
Great quality video! Keep it up! See you at a drift day soon 🤔
Thanks mate! 👍 Feel free to drop me an email and let me know when and where the decent drift days are happening.
Nice little mod Marcus
👍👍👍
Looks like a great mod Marcus 👌 have you thought about fitting the Corsa power steering mod?
Keep 'er lit! 🚗💨
i built a pair of those to put on my mk2 escort 30 years ago
Yes the idea is nothing new but they seemed to be unavailable to buy anywhere the last couple of years at least, and these Donut Motorsport ones are very well made. 👍
@@marcushayesford i made mine out of 1 inch ali stock and used with 1 turn lock to lock quick rack
I want some 😁
😀
how many turns on the steering bud?
Still the same as stock BUT the steering goes further. 👍
Should have a turning circle of a London taxi now 😊
😀
it says MOTORSPORT USE ONLY ?
Most aftermarket mod parts do. 👍
Or the wood is warped!
Maybe! 😀
You should take it and ger it done properly! It's not that expensive
I will once iv got rid of the play in the steering. 👍
