I have such fond memories of living in Bozeman and working at Gibson. I busted my ass but doing something you have a love and genuine passion for is a beautiful thing.
@@rockerbob949 Anything you remember and find interesting to share.😄 Maybe some luthier insight? Like effect of properly installed and glued frets on sound? How important is lacquer? What tonewood Gibson luthiers prefer soundwise? Why Gibson didn't make as much rosewood models as Martin? Why are Gibsons more expensive than Martins? Why isn't Advanced Jumbo as iconic as J-45?
Lexonn well it’s be many moons but when I was there (93-95) you worked in one specific area, such as top build, binding, rough sanding and on and so forth. Over time, as repetitive as some of it is, you got really good at your area of expertise. None of us were luthiers except the head master luthier REN Ferguson but we all took pride in working there! They are very serious about putting out good guitars! I’ve watched finished guitars get cut in half for one reason or another. I could go on and on and totally geek out about useless nonsense but I won’t. I bought myself a guitar while I worked there and management was cool enough to basically let me do whatever I wanted! Witnessing the entire process was a highlight!
Bye bye money. It was nice knowing you! Your Historic Hummingbird is just....dreamy. Haha who am I kidding I would have bought a dozen of the new ranges if I could :P
I want to see more about the Epiphone Frontier and Epiphone Excellente. I saw a shot of a Frontier in another video. Very cool guitars that deserve more attention.
I think they're moving in a good direction. You have the classic spec stuff to satisfy the folks that want that and you have the modern stuff for folks who want those appointments. And there aren't any goofball things like Henry's wacko Firebird type thing.
He was talking about the sunburst, not the finish gloss. ELI5: Modern painted sunbursts are like 720p and the older vintage sunbursts ones are 4K. Much more sharp and defined.
Good Karma well it’s the first year of the acoustic historic custom shop so expect these hiccups with the finishes and the incorrect historic features.
Does this new range mean that the Vintage SJ-200 I ordered back in June 2019 will never actually materialise now that it's been replaced with the Sitka topped '57? Andertons still have no ETA on their system.
Why didn't you play some of those guitars? They look beautiful for sure, but I'm sure hearing them would be better advertising than just talking about them. Anyway, one day I'm gonna get a nice J45 😍
I love you Gibson but since Ren retired and eventually came out of retirement and went to work at Guild. You folks have lost build quality. What is your goal now? Prove to me why I should buy another Gibson guitar (acoustic). Please give me Quality Q&A. Do not brush me off.
Lucky Dog Ren was the man. I wonder what’s going on at Gibson now because it’s the dogs on the factory floor that are responsible for the quality. I was one of those dogs when Ren was still there (94/95) and we rarely saw him on the floor.....not that he needed to be.
These are definately meant to cater to those knowledgable of gibson's history. So dont call a j55 a "1939" if it doesnt have the iconic1939 correct stairstep headstock that makes it truly unique.
Who cares about all this history lesson. Blah blah blah. Talk about something that matters... like how it plays, how does it differ from the modern standards that we're more familiar with. Is the sound different than the modern? Neck profile? I could care less about the history lesson.
Yeah, lol what glue do they use?? My old Gibson's are holding out pretty dang well. However I'm tempted to buy a new gibsons.... Maybe. But reali vintage is my pick
I think they’re talking about the torrified wood. Heating will crystallize the sugars?? Not sure what that means but the process just basically will dry out the dampness in the wood more quickly. The process has been around for years. Gibson just figured this out?

Bob, can you share some insights?
Lexonn Sure, like what? Anything specific?

SUPER Excited for season two!! 🤘🏻
Love what Gibson has done with the acoustic line. Cesar is a cool cat. He has the passion and it shows!
Have my new j-45 rosewood for a week and i love it very !! Nice work Gibson!
These guitars looks great! Awesome job Gibson

I have a 2020 Dove and it's so awesome, better made and sounding than the older one's in my opinion.

How long do the battery last for? In the acoustics semi acoustic
Epiphone USA need to also release the Coronet, Riviera and Century with the new Texan acoustic and the Casino electric!
Love Gibson guitars . When I saw these at The NAMM show I kept thinking something was off with the gloss finish . It looks cloudy .

Why am I not excited about this? Oh that's right I can't afford one.
I'm interested, I've always been a vintage type of person. However are their ways to play the reissues??

I want a hummingbird so bad. One day 🤘🏼
It took me years to get one. You won't be disappointed, the thing is incredible

Max Wirth Music same, one day
So close but so far away~~~
Any one Ladder Braced?
Prove to me that you have found a solid platform since Ren Ferguson retired. Give me a reason to buy a new Gibson Montana Acoustic?
Literally looking up places to sell my semen to get either that Hummingbird or Advanced Jumbo
Gonna need alot of it buddy 🤣🤣🤣
WeAllMatter Rooster I’m single, I got plenty!!
Gibson can i have that one? The j45😥😭

Who knew COVID was coming?
Historically expensive too!! LOL

Crystalized sugars... oh puhleeeeez. We both know in a 3 year time span that glue will start peeling.
Yeah, lol what glue do they use??
