Great review. I think most of the people who review the Surface Go line don't actually understand what it is for. It was never designed for HEAVY work, but as a super portable tablet that gives you access to the full Windows compliment of apps. I use mine for writing in coffee shops, creating presentations while commuting, marking up documents and taking notes in meetings. For those applications it beats everything on the market of a comparable size and weight.

The surface go 3 is a product made for those who need a device for light productivity with maximum portability. ipads are very good and powerful but they suffer from the limitations of the ipad OS. The surface go3 on the other hand offers a tablet experience and the software allows you to perform productivity work on a full blown OS. Personally I will get a maxed out surface go 3 as a secondary computer for light producitivy on the go. Great review keep it up

I enjoy my Surface Go 2, bought it in March/April 2020. It's still one I turn to because of its size and abilities. It is really a powerhouse for such a small PC tablet.

Great review. I have had the original Surface Go since it came out. I'm a power user. I actually do photo editing in Gimp no problem. I'm currently running 51 browser windows in 2 desktops, outlook, ToDo and RUclips. It's running great and stable. Even the original is a beast for what it is. I dock it on a 49" monitor and it's amazing.

*I purchased a pre-owned Microsoft Surface Pro 3 **_4/128/i5_** in 2020 and another SP3 **_4/64/i3_** some months later. Both of them fly and can even beat my fastest Mac ever in history. I've been a Mac user most of my life and I am happy without regrets that I am with my Surface(s) now. It could be a blessing in disguise that my old Mac had some issues that I had to turn to a budget Windows laptop and to another and then finally, happiest with my (not even a brand new one) very own Surface 2-in-1.*

Great review of this device. I think many people want to compare it to the iPad, because of the form factor, and size, but forget the target audience for these types of devices. Microsoft rarely makes devices for the average consumer. Their devices are for people who have business/multi-tasking needs, even though the device can perform media consumption and casual gaming tasks, too.

Great review! A lot of reviewers says it’s overpriced and underpowered, and the battery life is too short. Well, possibly, but it’s the only full Windows small tablet/PC with a touchscreen, at any price. I still use my ageing Surface 3, which was the predecessor to the Go, and it still works a treat although it does take forever to charge. When it eventually breaks I will replace it with the latest Go.

This is my second Surface Go; I had an Original 4/64 that was working just fine until I dropped it and cracked the screen. I went to an Acer 3 15" with i5 and 16 GB RAM and 500GB SSD...It was too heavy, the screen sucked and was overall unimpressive. I gave that Acer to my brother and today, I ordered a Surface Go 3 i3/8/128 to get back to what I loved - a small, lightweight tablet that does it all. I watched your video just to reassure myself that I was doing the right thing. I love your down earth presentation style and I'll be back for more... Cheers!

I agree with @Mark Finn. I bought the SG3 because wanted portable power and functionality. Tabby, as I call it, is the little brother to my big, tricked out, PC rig, with all the bells and whistles. But I wanted something that I could type articles and stories on, and use OneDrive to save files to the cloud. The size is also perfect for using it as a reader for the Kobo and Kindle apps. The SG3's build quality is excellent, along with its screen. It's also relatively light and has a useful SD slot to expand storage. Apart from that, it's not really meant to be used as a high-end device. I used to own a laptop but I hated (and still hate) the bulkiness. But my SG3 does not have that and still provides me the high functionality I need for the, arguably, limited tasks I require while away from my big rig. Indeed, the fact that I can download and watch a movie or two on my tablet, read, write, use social media, communicate, perhaps do some banking, all while carrying a machine that can easily fit into a briefcase or a satchel, is the ENTIRE reason I bought this device. Plus it didn't break the bank and that's important to remember - you will get what you pay for. You want more power and more bells and whistles? YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE and I didn't want to. If I did, I could have and got beast of a machine, whether a higher-end Surface or something more robust. But I didn't want to. In short, I got what I needed and it suits me fine. Yeah the price could be cheaper and/or MicroSoft (MicroStingy, anyone?) could have been generous and offered a complimentary keyboard and cover to make it a better deal. But they didn't. I did find some just-as-good and cheaper alternatives for it though. Either way I'm satisfied with my purchase and hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

While I don't agree with the "Ipad is media consumption only device", I wholeheartly agree with your review of the Surface Go 3. Like you, I bought the mid tier model with 8 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of storage, because one can never have too much RAM or too much storage. It is replacing an older iPad Pro 9.7 inch that I used for work on the go. I was a bit concerend about the reviews that said it was slow and laggy and it was a slow and laggy out of the box, but a recent software update seems to have cured those 2 issues.
