Nice video man! Which one do you think is better? Surface GO 2 8/128 $510 or Surface GO 3 4/64 $524? I really want to pick GO 3 8/128 but man, they cost $656 in my country
Depending on that particular choice, I would go with the Go 2 with the higher RAM & SSD. One sad thing about the base model Surface Go 4/64 device are the SSD speeds, which are significantly slower. Running benchmarks really shows this difference, since 4/64 has a eMMC drive. The Go 2 is almost identical to the Go 3, even using the same Model number on the back, just a slightly better CPU.
The bodies are literally identical and all the ports are in the same locations between the two of them. A case for the SG2 should definitely work for the SG3.
Good point there, the base model is very very limited. There are better read/write speeds with the 8GB model. I still own my Surface Pro 7+ and it's an amazing device.
This tablet can have an external monitor using the USB-C connected into a monitor with a USB-C connector. Display will work, though there might be some limitations since it is not Thunderbolt. I haven't fully looked into it but have been able to connect this tablet to a Dell Ultrasharp 38.
I can confirm that you can effortlessly use 4K external monitor connected to the USB-C connector--even on my SG1 (the original model). Furthermore, you can connect your SG to a 4K wireless display adaptor, such as the one Microsoft sells and it works flawlessly. The best part of that is you can walk around a room totally untethered by wires writing with your Surface Pen and be connected to a conference room monitor or to a projector. Since your USB-C port is now unoccupied, you can put that to use with an SSD (velcroed to your kickstand) or a Rode Wireless Go microphone receiver. Whatever you want. Totally Ted Talk-like. Impressive use case for such a little giant.@@Silent157
Looking at some numbers online, I believe the Go 3 is ever so slightly dimmer than the Go 2 by 5-10 nits. Hardly a large number and may not be noticeable only in some cases. Definitely not 100 though.
In your bench mark the go 2 seems much better is it wiser to pick a surface go 2 than the go 3? And in your cover keyboard review you kept the go 2 instead of the go 3. Im planning on buying a base model tomorrow im getting the go 3 but go 2 price are really cheaper now ., any last buying advice pls. thank you
@Kurt i bought the surface go 3 64gb. You are right i watch other review saying the same. But i found a good deal so i grab it.,what make choose the go3 is for the longer support updates up to 2025., Im loving this,. I use it for digital painting with paint tool sai v2., it replace my old surface pro 4 and my ipad pro 10.5,.
Both devices should have been using Windows 11 for a better comparison. Also, your wish for a 6GB variant is strange when there are 8GB variants. I'm currently using a SG2 with 8GBs of RAM. It's fantastic. Hopefully the SG4 has a 16GB of RAM model alongside a 2 P core + 4 E core CPU option.
Performance on both is pretty much the same, as I also did a video of the Surface Go 2 running WIndows 11 and also the Go 3 running Windows 10. I really believe it's sad that a computer (or a tablet running Windows here) can still come with 4GB of RAM, which can quickly run out after 1-2 programs are opened, and would prefer & wish that the min RAM these devices come with was 6GB.
Playing RUclips from browser on my new Surface Go 3, it drains very fast even when first time use and start playing from 100% fully charged. Left 85% only. Very disappointing. The specs says can run for 11hrs. But I think if it can last 2 hrs of video play i will be lucky. Suspect that Microsoft is made in China and the factory or reseller may have used lousy or less capacity battery
I have noticed that when viewing RUclips videos, the remaining battery is definitely overstated and hope it's something that can be addressed sometime. Even so, the battery still lasts beyond 5 hours when watching 480p-720p videos, assuming no other programs are open. The battery life would likely be better over the base 4GB RAM model.
The battery is actually pretty on par with the Surface Go 2, possibly holding a charge a little more. I've been able to watching RUclips videos constantly on this device for over 5 hours without getting too close to losing all it's charge.
what processor is the go 2 on this video? 4425y or m3?
Nice video man!

I see the body between go 2 and go 3 hasnt really change. Are the ports also in the same positions. Can the same protective case work on both

i had it but return it it was just to small and i got microsoft surface pro7 instead a lot better to write/ draw/ and other basics.

So.... Thunderbolt... still waiting. If only for external monitors. Or wireless HDMI would be fun. Guess Chromecast still viable.

go 2 seems brighter and larger then go 3
Now, do Go 3 vs Go 4.
Once I get my hands on one. They are geared more for businesses at this time, though that may change soon.
Windows os is is great, it just need a CPU like M1 to enhance mobility.
Might want to try Linux, the battery life is a bit better in Linux compared to Windows.
How much nits difference is this, some claim 100 nits, others claim 10 nits

@@azazel0202 thanks so much for the update! I didn’t consider the support, but I will now 👌😬

At that price I will buy a gaming laptop and use it for school
Gaming notebooks can be pricey, but have seen some HP and related ones for as low as $500 or so when on sale.
Did you tey 4k video on youtube with base model
The base model will hiccup from time to time playing 4k videos. I attempted to play one of my own videos in 4k and it would stutter from time to time.

@@Silent157 yes, the 11hours specs is clearly intellectually dishonest. If we leave the surface go on and not use it, of course it can last 11hrs
Dude saying it's Chinese therefore it's lousy sounds kinda fucked up just sayin
Which go 3 do you have?
Batería????
