- Danny Dread without a doubt has one of the most extensive histories throughout the sound system arena. His gifted talents saw him pulling double duty on sound systems both in Kingston and St Thomas simultaneously. Danny Dread is described as 'the' man to guide any sound to stardom hence he was sought out by Junjo Lawes to spin on Volcano and later played on King Addies just to name two. His career has seen so many of the industry's giants including artistes, rise and fall.
Did you and everyone know that Danny Dread is very honest , truthful, and extremely liable as a professional dance hall selector of all time. It's true, because I was always with he and Errol Johnny Osbourne at these sessions. I used to work at the Ministry of Health. At Blood Bank, Comprehensive Health Centre, and the Government Medical Lab by KPH at North Street. Danny Dread made dub plates with all the great singers. I rode on his motor bike many, many times for years. Danny Dread is a blessed lifetime friend of mine. Also Johnny Bumpy Osbourne, Horace Andy, Errol [Flabba Holt] Carter and many more. Everything he was telling you is true. You can ask him any time, he called me Doc or Cammo. Maximum respect to you and Danny Dread. A million thanks for this one on one classic interview. Bless up.
Big up mi dreadlocks friend Danny Dread..Original Addies DJ and U.S. Marine veteran Colonel Dougie seh suh...I was there from the one turntable, electronic reverb and a little amps that I brought back from Japan when I was stationed there as a U.S. Marine back in 1983..I gave those to Addie in 1987 before Eton build up the sound and you can see them being used if you watch: (Addies and friends 1987) that was held at Irene Court 1367 Sterling..I Daddy Colonel in the brown suit along with: Nicodemus, Junior Demus, Nyah Semmi, Bally from Fulton Street, Prince Planner, Carter Brown, Peeka Boo Roland Demus, Big Belly Lenky the first selector on Addies and many friends in attendance. .

The great Danny Dread!!!!!! Inspired me to play sound, cherish all my Stur Mars cassette dem.... Introduce me to the great artist like Super Cat, Nicodemus, Burro Banton and the greatest artist everrrrrr, "TENOR SAW".. The way Danny Dread used to mix Cat n Demus dem, kraaaaazy.. Love the way he mixed Tenor Saw and Yammi Bolo singing "careless whisper"...MAAAAD!!!! "I RESPECT THE LEGENDS"!!!!!
