- On Saturday 26th, March 1994, the second annual World Sound Cup Clash was held at the Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. Featuring 4 of the best sound systems in the world competing for the World Cup and titles as the world's number one sound system.
This amazing night featured:

I was at this dance one of the rammist dance I ever been to … Big up Saxon Studio..
I went to this dance. The queue outside was MAD! The doors got rushed how much times. Not gonna lie Saxon bought about 5 - 10 coaches of supporters and he wouldn't let Face play on his sound but let Bodyguard play on his sound. Bare Nasty Love crew was helping Saxon play. Face lose him voice, Johnny Guard wasn't there and TBH at the time Kebra Negus was an up and coming sound but wasn't established on a world stage, they're still not, no disrespect intended. Saxon's Garnet Silk Kingly Character is a serious dubplate! I feel say dem teef Face at this clash... Around this time Baby Face was a killing machine killing every sound him a come across, until him buck up pon Jaro in Portmore...

Tha's a fact sound King@ buck up on Jaro! A brother on my football team lent me that cassette in 95. That is when Ricky Trooper dusted them off wit' the "sick riddim" and the likes...It was then that I fell in love with Kilamanjaro sound. Unfortunately the tape never made it back to Its owner because I erased it by accident instead of copying it and giving it back! smmfh after literally searching for that recording for two deccades; i found it up here last year!
I have Jaro Vs Addies 1995 uploaded on my channel. Also have the 1993 clash on there and will upload a couple more dances between the two BIG sounds!
jaro never wanted to play back addies after. bias thing did ah gwan in ja. addies got set up..
If you also check back the history before this clash, Addies already Killed Jaro twice back in Baby Face & Danny Dread times before Baby Face & Matterhorn.
By far 1 of the baddest clashes ever. Over 5000 people that night.

This must be the best heavyweight clash in England- every sound representing..On the copy i had ,during Addies set someone bust out gunshot in the crowd..Vibes a gwaan bredren,vibes a gwaan.

I began listening to sound systems around 94 and I remember hearing this recording in the mid 90's on a cassette tape. I really miss King Addis I wish they were more active today! Paterson, New Jersey Talkin'!

Sax don't want anyone play on his sound because Saxon has always used weight to kill sounds, thats why whenever Saxon come to Jamaica they can't win a clash. I was at this Dance the last of the real clash dem………Saxon still rule with weight in the dance…….Saxon is the only sound I know that use to make lewisham power grid trip,and the Bass Line make you stomach turn……Clash now a days come like joke, you can't clash with CD and MP3 clash with 10inch DUB
Interesting point...I did however see Saxon and DownBeat get dusted off by Killamanjaro in 98 NYC at Club Amazara...Just wax...no cd's...no laptops...ijs
I was at that clash, lol. Saxon had a more cultural vibe and I got the sense that the Amazura crowd wasn't having any of it! For instance, a song by a singer like Peter Huningale that would rock a London crowd got absolutely no traction in Queens because most people there didn't/wouldn't know who Peter Huningale is. I've also talked to NYC based Jamaicans who've gone to parties while visiting London-some have complained that the music was too "cultural". I used to party extensively (LOL) in both cities and enjoyed music from both.

It's not the tools used that matters it's the mind behind the track and how the final product hits you. Digital does the same exact thing just in a different way. Nothing wrong with a balance!
im use to seeing johnny or linx play bodyguard but whoever di man dem is selecting did a great job he had me hype in the first 8 minutes

Just came across this in 2019 and Sound King you are not lying ...I was there as well and it was the only dance i thought i was going to die when the doors got rushed..bwoy dem times dance was well worth walking home miles from home with no hope of transport till certain times

I never liked sound clashes. Too much emphasis on bigging themselves up, useless chatting and not letting the music do the talking for them. How can you enjoy a tune when they only play it for 30 seconds, chat garbage for the next 5 minutes then play another tune for 30 seconds?

Saxo0n had the best dubplate best bassline and sound effects with the best MCs and anybody who attended was never disappointed as you heard the best singers and MCs on dubplates made by each sound and there most sounds could not test Saxon as they would play a dub and say nobody had it and Saxon would play a better version god I missed those days

I was at this clash, even spotted me and my crew on this footage. This was high way robbery. Clearly Saxon won it before the first tune was played. Was gutted for babyface too.

I was there back then it was a crush & you could not swing a cat in their or outside was pure confusion but the clash was good. guys who had their cars parked right outside got their cars scratched & dented bonnets with people standing on the bonnets when the fence broke down.

That is home Boy Paul he is better known as a juggling selector. We are still trying to figure out what the hell he’s doing there in England in a Sound Clash of this caliber.

@@gtsound12 Not really but Home Boy Paul usually get sent out on juggling assignments I can’t recall him ever winning a clash by himself he’s not that kind of selector. This whole 94 cup clash is very suspect to much odd things went on that night including this Home Boy Paul situation.

I was there and none disappointed me but my love was for Saxon and Bodyguard and Stone Love sound so anywhere they played in the UK I was there but I followed Saxon more than any other sound, for black people the sound system was our only way to rave and dance, Saxon run things that day

this is one reason i don't like to part take in commenting on most youtube videos, saxon played HALF PINT dub for under 10 seconds then switch to garnet silk ft maxi priest. am not taking sides or saying this or that is my sound, but i know am not deaf or blind.... how and where did the HALF PINT dub got the biggest forward????.

Kool.... more and more these days people are brain washed and bias , am more into old school type of music/sound system and selectors. Being a fan of any thing/one brings biased comments and unfair decisions. I love all sound system that keeps it real with the people and gives good vibes. I like clashes between sound systems that involves quality/clarity and not men cussing out each other.
