@@TheUnperson Ohhh right... I was thinking 2 opposite envelopes (if that makes sense), but if you have the controls set at min and max, and the attenuverters set the opposite way, then I guess that covers it.
Is this what you mean with sample and hold on Pam's? 9:10 in the video. From the manual: When quantised, a random wave form with a pattern applied (i.e euclidian or random skip for example) is effectively ‘sampled and held’ across empty steps (rather than dropping to 0v) to allow for more musical patterns to be created.
Really appreciate your inspiring videos. In particular as I recently started loving my Beads that had been sitting idly after my first attempts at using it. And I just added a Rings clone, so I am looking forward to explore … Thanks for sharing your patches and music.
Great opening! Sounded like one of those old private radio shows where people call inn and talk about their problems. "And we have a caller, hello Charon, tell me, you say you believe your husband is possessed by an otherworldly box with blinking lights and sounds from hell. Could you tell our listeners how you came to this conclusion?"
I had to laugh out loud when you said "I know what you are thinking... what kind of black magic can make "Rings" sound like this. Because that's what I wondered in that exact moment! :D
I can only second, what many people have said before: What a great channel you created. So much info to learn, and so much great music to enjoy. Keep up the good work, we really appreciate it!
I think you should explore more Rings's input. ever tried to use filtered band-passed noise shaped by a VCA and an envelope? Rings's input is great!!! Anyway great stuff as usual. Cheers!
i love this channel. i watch every day, it lifts my spirit to hear these sounds and such a nice , friendly vibe with all these videos, these sounds are helping me heal and get to a good place of endless synthesis ....
So good... love how you combine educational aspect of modular whilst making beautiful music. This is becoming my favourite modular driven channel for sure. Thanks for all the knowledge and joy!
Love it man! I think "I had no idea could make sounds like that!" is becoming my standard reaction to your videos. I often feel like your demo patches are just one deep subby bassline away from being a whole track.
Thank you! There's not too much going on with that one. Modulation-wise, there is one envelope (channel 4 of Maths) which is modulating both the brightness and position. Beads is adding some high octave stuff, and that's about it really! If you can make out the position of the dials you should be able to recreate it with just one envelope :)
@@TheUnperson on second thoughts, yeah, you might be right I don't find it quite so bad now because I wrote some JSFX code in REAPER that allows me to change parameter values on the fly without that it would be a little bit painful cheers, andy
Dude, the epic ambience patch is so fantastic! Love your creative patch ideas. I kinda became bored with rings, but you make it sound so cool and different!

Great jams! That ambient patch is genius... I need to go try it somehow.
Cheers man! All you need is one envelope and a mult :D

yep
wish I could figure out the ambient one in vcvrack 😩
It should work with one envelope going into both the position and brightness!
Not only are these videos amazing, but I can tell you're getting even better at the keys man🙌✌️
Thank you! Much appreciated ☺️

Doesn‘t each of the regular modes have an alternative „Hold mode button“ mode?

The rings input is definitely the least explored feature for me. I haven't tried that but it sounds verrry interesting!
How do you actually access the fm sounds ? :)
When the top right button is green you long press the button :)

Damn dude!!! It just gets better and better over here. You squeezed the juice out of Rings.
haha cheers man - yea not sure if there's any more rings content to be had!
My Rings must be broken. I can't get it to sound like that.
Keep trying! 😃
excellent as usual - very inspiring, opening yet more Rings possibilities 😊
Cheers man! ☺️
Super nice, and really surprising to hear Rings that way.

Just when I thought I knew everything about rings!!
A pleasant surprise then! ☺️

and the Rings implementation in the Disting EX, the hidden modes are not hidden 😁
It might be hidden amongst the hundreds of menu options lol
