    You can go to places like Myeong-dong to buy sim cards. I highly recommend not buying them at the airport as they overcharge and the number doesn't even let you call, you can only receive calls. The price itself is much more expensive than the price you will for 4 months worth of Data. Woorin and Chingu are good companies as they only require a passport. Woorin also has a pickup option at the airport.

    • @CEENDAY
      @CEENDAY Год назад +4

      Omg I just made the research for Woorin, it's so much cheaper ! Thanks for the advice

    • @Lubsana86
      @Lubsana86 Год назад +7

      Yes and I've seen many videos recomending the same. But you need to take into account that might not be wise when you arrive at tge airport in new country and place. Orientating and navigating in metropolis like Seoul without data and using maps would be difficult and challenging. If you have been at place and know how to orientated maybe, but I'm going to S.Korea in 3 weeks and would probably buy it from airport, especially considering that I directly go from Incheon to Busan

      Can you suggest where in Myeong dong I can get a sim ? Need it for 5 days only ?

    • @animeotaku1773
      @animeotaku1773 9 месяцев назад

      @yashshah7630 I didn't get mine in Myeong-dong so I can't tell you where specifically. But when my friend I looked we only saw one place and had to ask the tourist helpers (they are dressed in red uniforms and their hats were in different languages) for directions. I highly recommend just looking up where chingu or woorin are relative to where you are staying. I personally got my in the university area in/near Sinchon.

      hello my dear friend in KOREA
      Thankful for your kind informations - please let me ask a question about telefon-communication in KOREA !
      Comparing the situation in EUROPE you can buy a SIM card without problems as well as in KOREA, but
      with that SIM-Card you are able to phone anywhere in all EUROPE without restrictions easily.
      The system of paying the expenses for conections we call - PREPAID ... and everybody can use it right away.
      In KOREA you will not even be able to make a telefon-call for a hotel-reservation when travelling inside KOREA.
      Is that really true - in a modern civilized country ? - I heard you have to be a permanent resident of KOREA
      to get access to this simple function or you must apply for an "alien-card" with time consuming hassle and expenses.
      Well, I am not an alien and I live on the Planet Earth and as far as I know the Korean´s do the same ... right ?
      It sounds like a joke, but it is serious and evidently behind the times. I would be very pleased if you could give an advice
      how to make a hotel-reservation by phone when you are a foreigner and stay in KOREA for a week or two.
      Which card is available doing best effect ? I always thougt only in Europe we have bureaucratic administration ...
      best regards HEINZ

    Hello! Thank you so much for uploading this super useful video, I am a keen technology enthusiast and I am getting the impression that it's almost impossible to get any form of 5G access without an Alien Card or being a Korean citizen... I did notice in your Daiso visit when you look closely at some of the packaging it does mention "5G" access, i'd be interested in learning if there is any way to activate the SIM online, if you call them how do they obtain your ID data?

I just wanna ask..i bought SKT prepaid sim card(worth 36k won)then tried it on my IphoneXR from Philippines.. when someone calling or texting me i am able to answer the call and receive the text BUT when i am the one who will call or text them.. it's not working.. even the data is not working but i have signal and there's a LTE beside my signal. Why is that sir?

    • @Koreantraveler
      @Koreantraveler  Год назад

      Hello~ I think if you paid for incoming and outgoing calls and sms with the internet, it should work on your device. Try to restart your phone, if the problem will not disappear, you can go to the office where you bought the SIM and ask them to change it. Sometimes this problem occurred, so better to ask the office manager to check the SIM right away (you can call the office manager's phone in the office for example, so he will understand the problem) Hope this advice will help!
