Awesome! I did a similar mod long ago with the pro58 and these goggles. I’ve used it for months till I now got commanders. I’d warn that in AV mode it still has the internal receiver powered “at least on mine” and that drains the battery. I just bypassed my internal and wired it straight to that. Also I didn’t need the step up converter for the pro58. That also ends up drawing more power. But I love how simple this installation is 😎👍🏼👍🏼
There will be more mods on a 3500mah lion flat cell.. dvr with caps to make sure you dont miss a recording.. I'm really liking these goggles a lot to be honest.

Drone Mesh I found the fov on these to be perfect. The bigger box goggles are too big. The only thing is wearing them for a while you can feel the eye strain of the single screen and Fresnel lens. That was my main reason for going to the commanders
I received the Dji Mavic Pro for Father’s Day. I was new to drones but it’s my favorite thing now, I have watched hours upon hours of videos on freestyle Quads and I ordered the TBS OBLIVION RTF set from TEAMBLACKSHEEP and it should be shipped this week. I know it’s totally different than my Mavic but I want to get into freestyle. I only need goggles now and I CANNOT figure out which ones to buy. Any help for a Newbie would be great. Nice proof of concept for diversity mod in cheap googles. For really useful mod VR006 aren't the best though due to mediocre screen. better is to mod Eachine EV800 by adding external module slot and moving a battery to back on head strap (or power from Fatshark type battery) for better weight distribution.
are there any flysky radio videos coming ? also i would love to see someone make an open source transmitter and receiver with a 3d printed body and custom pcbs inside, hope it happens some day ...
I tried making this with my VR006s using a NextWave 5G8. I had the module laying around, so I thought it would be a good proof of concept before I tried a more expensive module (these are backup goggles for me). But I couldn't get anything other than black screen when I switch to AV In. I made sure the module was on the correct channel (before I put it on the VR006, since there's no buttons now), but I can't get anything to display. Any thoughts? I double checked my regulator is outputting 5.0V when the module is running, I have capacitors on the output of the regulator, and I have verified with an oscilloscope that the module is outputting video signals. I double checked my soldering, and even tried running the video through the cable the supplied with the goggles. No luck. Any ideas would be helpful!

I feel the only thing holding me back from learning acro and posting flight footage was that i felt uncomfortable with the box goggles i have!!! I would just crash and never really liked them!! The FOV is like my fatshark HD3 sort off.. better than the bigger ones.

There is openavrc check it out.. I am planning a custom PCB to replace main board of flysky with it and will run opentx and get all features.

All that Aomway Commander v1 need is proper DVR upgrade. Stock DVR is a upscaled square festival. Otherwise they are good.
