  • If Miami and Louisville were added to the Big 12, the conference would undergo significant changes, enhancing its competitiveness, financial health, recruiting landscape, and national perception. The integration of these two programs would bring substantial benefits and opportunities, further solidifying the Big 12’s position in college football.
    Competitive Balance
    Adding Miami and Louisville would immediately elevate the competitive level of the Big 12. Miami, with its rich history and tradition of success, along with Louisville's consistent performance, would bring formidable challenges to existing Big 12 teams. These new additions would lead to intriguing matchups against established teams like Texas, Oklahoma State, and Baylor, increasing the overall excitement and competitiveness within the conference. The enhanced level of play would attract more fans and media attention, making every game more engaging.
    Financial Benefits
    The inclusion of Miami and Louisville would significantly boost the Big 12’s financial standing. Both programs have strong, dedicated fan bases that would drive higher viewership and game attendance. This increased interest would likely result in more lucrative television deals and sponsorship opportunities, bringing additional revenue to the conference. The financial windfall could be used to improve facilities, support athletic programs, and invest in other initiatives that would enhance the overall competitiveness of the Big 12.
    Recruiting Dynamics
    Miami and Louisville joining the Big 12 would shift the recruiting dynamics within the conference. The allure of playing for historically significant programs in a highly competitive league would attract top-tier recruits. This would not only benefit Miami and Louisville but also raise the overall talent level across the conference as other teams enhance their recruiting efforts to stay competitive. The presence of these schools would also expand the Big 12's recruiting footprint, particularly in the talent-rich southeastern United States.
    National Perception
    Nationally, adding Miami and Louisville would bolster the Big 12’s reputation. The conference would be seen as more competitive and prestigious, capable of attracting and integrating high-caliber programs. This enhanced perception would increase the Big 12's influence in national discussions about college athletics, making it a more formidable player in NCAA governance and potential future realignment scenarios.
    Conclusion
    In conclusion, the addition of Miami and Louisville to the Big 12 would have a transformative impact. It would enhance the competitive balance, generate significant financial benefits, improve the recruiting landscape, and elevate the national perception of the conference. These changes would position the Big 12 as a stronger and more influential force in college football, capable of rivaling the top conferences in the sport.

    Could the Big 12 get enough teams in the ACC to vote to break the grant of rights if they guarantee them a spot in the conference if the Big 10 and SEC do not take them? It would not be all of them, just the ones the Big 12 would need to get the ACC to the magic number who would get the guarantee. Or would that just make the Big 12 just too big, especially if the power two do not take as many teams as anticipated?

    I think the Big 12 should change their name to Big 4. Make four pods that represent all the old conferences that disappeared. This model includes the ultimate goal with TX, Ok, USC, UCLA, WA, and OR join the conference. Dreaming but fun!!

    it makes more sense to me that the ACC PLUCK WHATEVER VALUE TEAMS THE BIG 12 HAS LEFT AND HAVE THEM JOIN THE ACC. I don’t think there’s a team in the big 12 that would turn down an invitation to the ACC. Notice, not one single ACC team accepted an invitation to the big 12 during last big re-alignment
    FSU &. Clemson want to move up, not down…a promotion like the SEC OR BIG 10, not a DEMOTION, like the big 12.

    Big 10 killed the pac .

    • @jt4jt4
      @jt4jt4 26 дней назад +2

      USC killed the Pac. They didn't have to take UCLA with them, but thought as a package deal it was even more attractive for the Big 10 to get the entire LA market. But, extrapolating from that, George Kliavkoff could be blamed for the Pac's death because of his refusal to allow USC a larger revenue share than teams like Oregon State and Washington State, and there's also the general decline in interest in college sports on the Left Coast that kept the "Conference of Champions" from being able to act like that when it came to TV contract negotiations.

That way, you won't look so much like hyped up idiots free associating your rambling thoughts- which no one really wants to hear. "It could be X, it could be be Y, but maybe not, maybe so, then add Z and take away X" is about as much of a useless web site as there is on the internet. Total waste of time.
