Michael, what a unique topic and brilliantly researched. Having worked along side his company for quite a while, it totally blew my mind that Jobs was involved from the very beginning.
Chemotherapy. He believed that snake oil crap could treat cancer, when the condition he had could easily have been treated with chemo and surgery. At the time he finally decided to get the operation, it was too late.
I like the pacing in your videos a lot. They're under 20 minutes and convey all the proper necessary information. This is also a really cool look at how innovation helped to change the industry, and it's very cool.
This is actually an incredibly ambitious project. Take a look at smaller delivery services like Bite Squad/Waitr; they still can’t get half of this stuff right. While this didn’t have the idea of managing drivers in mind (pretty sure the restaurant provided their own drivers), even the idea of placing an order with the restaurant over the web is one that is still actually pretty complicated.
If you were tech savvy back then, you knew you couldn’t *actually* order pizza online when “The Net” came out. At best you could look up the phone number to a pizza place. But there was a bit of suspension of disbelief that hmm, maybe *in California* they’re crazy enough to do that- and sure enough they were (in an extremely limited way)!
30 years later Google Assistant is trying to do the same thing, but with doctors appointments and restaurant reservations. Just because doctors and restaurants can`t use an unified interface. Imagine how simple would be to make a doctor appointment if you and the doctor use an integrated system. Instead, an AI have to call and schedule with a person. In 20 years that would look like an old and outdated way to do something simple, just like cyberslice now. Just because the restaurant doesn't have a computer and internet, you need machines to call and read the order.....
10 seconds into the video and I didn't see and hear anything anymore. All I could think of was pizza... Will try and watch again once my pizza craving has been satisfied.
Wait... Dear Michael MJD, kind of off-topic but... did you do the voiceovers of Mega64's PIZZATRON parody? When you say "pizza" and "order", i immediately remember that video.
wait I've never heard of a internet pizza order end I live in Italy usually here you got the little paper of the pizzeria whit the menu end the number for calling or texting not the web page for order wait let me check nope there aren't links
Voice bot reading technology is getting very good. Almost seamless and difficult to tell that it is not a human reading the script. If you listen real good you can pick up on the slight distortion in the voice. Overall it is much better than those annoying and souless bot readers people were using not to long ago.
Now every time I order food online, I’ll think of Sandra Bullock. ❤️
Computer Clan yes
Next time i order online, I will think of Shrek❤️
Oh, hello
MarkusTegelane yo
Now I want to watch "The Net" again.

Michael, what a unique topic and brilliantly researched. Having worked along side his company for quite a while, it totally blew my mind that Jobs was involved from the very beginning.
Thank you! Yeah, I was amazed when I found out about it
It blew my mind too.
Cyberslice sounds like the name of a sword in a futuristic world
I was thinking the same. Maybe even some form of hacking software.
I thought the same
Sounds like the name of a sword from a bladerunner movie
Tesla Cyberslice.
Is there a thing Steve Jobs wasn't involved in?
This has to be the craziest story I've ever heard about the man
microsoft
@@starleaf-luna Microsoft was one of the first software providers of the original Mac. Excel was actually first introduced on macOS.
Crazier than the fact he washed his feet in toilet water and smelled awful?
Chemotherapy. He believed that snake oil crap could treat cancer, when the condition he had could easily have been treated with chemo and surgery. At the time he finally decided to get the operation, it was too late.
The formative years of his first daughter?

I like the pacing in your videos a lot. They're under 20 minutes and convey all the proper necessary information. This is also a really cool look at how innovation helped to change the industry, and it's very cool.

This is like an interesting history before I was even born. Great video!
Keep up the great work I really enjoy your videos
Another "I had no idea thing" I learned about.👍
Next time I order pizza online, I'll think of Steve Jobs!
Chuckling at the "Nextstation Turbo" sign at 0:25 lists the specs of the computer, then at the bottom lists "April 1977 / Apple DOS 3.1"
I had never heard of "The Net" or CyberSlice until now. This was interesting! 🤓

How long does it take to download a pizza?
Download a pizza is pretty fast, but print the pizza, well that will take a few days.

I like the way how you do videos. Here you have a new suscriber!
Hey! Amazing video. I have an video idea. How about remaking the Vista development history? It would be amazing!!
Wait... Dear Michael MJD, kind of off-topic but... did you do the voiceovers of Mega64's PIZZATRON parody? When you say "pizza" and "order", i immediately remember that video.
A still think about, they 100% of the time forget to bring mobile payment terminal, so I need to go and get cash each and everytime.
I like old school stuff like that. Sometimes I even prefer a physical book of passwords instead of bitwarden.
Good job Michael
Hey Michael I need help on how to install an OS on VMware using blank drive
Fun vid man
RUclips is so broken I only got the notification 6 days later lol
Why was the thumbnail changed
talking about pizza, on a computer channel. Cool!
Out of curiousity, why did you change the thumbnail? I remember that before, you use young Steve Jobs
now I love my pizza even more.
What can this man not do…. Lol 😂 but Steve Jobs is amazing - Rip Steve Jobs
Fun fact: The Pizza Net Page Still Exists
Why do thumbnails keep changing?
He may have updated the thumbnail. Sometimes thumbnail doesn't look quite right and we change them.
Well it even was changed TWICE. It gets kinda ridiculous.
@Him Or maybe it's YT shenanigans again. Swapping the thumbnail using AI shit or so.
@Him - I'm a content creator so I understand why someone would change something after being published.
CyberSlice is the most 90s name ever lol
Is Windows 12 there now?

This isn't a text to speech voice...
Mjd isn't a tts. He's reading the script himself. He just has a monotone voice.
