The diesel exhaust note from the Phantom/Hauler Customer is easily among the best in the game! Especially on startup! Very aggressive and modern sounding!

I think the ETR1 is very underrated. It sounds great especially when you go of throttle.
Can't pick them all sadly. Doing only top 10 was very difficult going through hundreds of cars

I honestly love the sound of the shwartzer. For a street car, it sounds incredible. And the customization is good too
Rockstar should have given that car better performance because people really sleep on that car because acceleration is very bad
i might be misremembering but i swear that car day 1 used the schafter/tailgater/sentinel sound. and then i think after the schafter v12 came out, they changed it
The XA-21 exhaust note is I’d say my second favorite exhaust note in the game. My #1 favorite would have to be like the one from the Buffalo STX, Picador, a nice beefy V8 sounding to them.🔥

Good list. I especially agree with #1. When I first got the XA-21 I spent half an hour just driving around exclaiming how damn good it sounds.
Pretty surprised to not see the Grotti Carbonizzare on this list. One of the most beautiful sounds in my opinion, similar to the Turismo R, but the Carbonizzare is my favorite one! Nice video as always!
So glad I kept a Carbonizzare in my garage! It's such a shame they took it off the sites.
I love everything about that car. The crazy tail happy driving, the power, the convertible hardtop, the sound.

The obey 8f drafter is my favorite sounding car in gta. Super fun to drive, decent customization and it’s pretty cheap for what you are getting at just over $700,000

I was really surprised by this but the OG mustang ( Dominator) that you can just steal off the street has an amazing, very deap, growl/rumble sound when you max it out!! I agree with your top 10 almost to a T, but the OG Dominator would have to be a special mention for me just because as long as I've played this game, I didn't realize how well rounded that car was maxed out and how amazing it sounds until just a few months ago. Wouldn't let me edit my comment for some reason but another car that not only sounds really good but in my opinion is very underrated is the Deviant .... You have to be a muscle car enthusiast to get this but once you learn how to drive/ get comfortable with this car, its an absolute beast!!! And it also would be a special mention just outside of top 10, for me at least....

Unrelated to GTA, but NFS Heat's exhaust note customisation was amazing. I was always experimenting with metallic resonance and overrun, especially on my favourite muscle cars. Managed to get my Mustang's exhaust to sound almost like you were driving through a never-ending tunnel.
Great picks - this is making me wish I'd picked up a Blackfin before it got removed. Thankfully got the XA-21 recently, though.
I hope this option makes its way into gta5 online in a later dlc

Aw yeah! Nice list! I love the deep throaty, bassy, beefy, and powerful sounds of a classic V8 or the classic cars! Glorious! I'd also add maybe the calico, the comets, and maybe the paragon R! So many great sounding cars! Good stuff, man! 😁😎👍🏻
I feel like the Albany Virgo is definitely underrated when it comes to exhaust notes and idk why, it has that deep classic V8 and it has crackles (granted no where near the same level as stirling and black fin) especially when double clutching and letting off the throttle

I recently got the XA-21 from Simeons and when I first drove it and let off the throttle, I was just amazed how much overrun it could make, I just couldnt stop listening to that awesome sound! I do own most of these vehicles on this list and still my personal favourite is either the Stirling GT or the Fränken Stange. But the startup sound, the idle and rev on the Striling GT, all of it sounds so awesome combined.

maybe you've started doing this in your more recent customisation vids, but im really glad you've finally turned up the ingame sound when talking about it. You used to keep the volume low when you get in the car and it starts up and I can never properly hear the engine sound :P
The Calico GTF start-up is one of the best ones in the game for sure. The way it rev up when you start It and the turbo sound just after it is Just too good to hear. It's a good onorable mention.
As you say there are a lot of cars with amazing engine sounds and it would be really cool to see another top ten or another list with vehicles with good engine sound (cars like the GP1, the ETR1,...)

Not sure if u forgot to mention, but on the blackfin, if you double clutch and while it's bouncing off the rev limiter, letting go of throttle makes some crazy loud overrun, almost like the sound is glitching out, super unique
Personally the mamba is my favorite sounding car, closely followed by the franken stange, the hsw stirling (for higher rpm), and the coquette blackfin
LOVE the mamba. I like to drive it around like I own it, because one crash will cave that car in. It's a nice little challenge, and it looks and sounds incredible.

I would agree, I would rearrange some but also I would take out the Frankenstein or strange or whatever for the vapid trophy truck absolute loved that think when it was my main car to drive. But yeah loved the top picks 👌🏼
1 of my favorite exhaust notes that I don’t think I hear in other cars is the vectre when u let off the gas at high speeds , it makes a Audible rumbling/popping noise.
I actually have all but one or two of these cars that you mentioned. I probably gravitated to them for this very reason. They sound amazing, most of them look awesome if you're a car guy that likes classic cars. They don't all drive great, but there's no doubt that they're fun to drive! Especially if you have a good Soundsystem
the low growl of the benefactor schlager gt and the unique kind of hollow growl from the dewbauchee vagner are pretty great
The arena war nissan 350z sounds really cool also 👌
when the Blackfin pop up in my Mod Shop... I straight up buy it because it's a Corvette and when I drove it for the 1st time the sound blew my mind and it is now my main cruising car replacing the Dukes... the Paragon R sounded very nice as well in my opinion...
Going through a series of bends and keeping the revs where the exhaust keeps popping in the elegy retro custom is incredible
One of my favorite ignition start sounds is the Turismo R and one of my favorite idle sounds is the Entity XF.

Wanted to mention the schwarzer, it had it exhaust sounds changed from ps3 to ps4. The sound change made me instantly store it in my garage and still drive it these days.
900R is so good too. Unique V10 sound that reminds me of the E60 M5 and the overrun is unreal when it does the rapid fire bangs - I don’t know another GTA car that does this.

They need to have a super charger option to make it a louder wine
Why? You whine loud enough as it is. If you want to play a car game go play need for speed or something. The cars in GTA are simply fluff for the game not the main focus
Bravado banshee and banshee 900R have amazing engine sounds those V10 8.4L are fantastic.

The clean version of the rat truck sounds incredible. Super aggressive and throaty for a v8 in the game. I think it’s the only car to use that sound and that’s a shame. Also the faction sounds really good too.

I admittedly do have favorites with some of the car sounds but my biggest beef with GTA V ever since the day I finally gave it the chance to be played was sound diversity even nowadays I find there's way too many cars that recycle the same engine sounds and that really deters me from broadening my horizons and my garages outside of some OG vehicles and specific favorites
You should do a Top 10 video on cars that need an HSW upgrade for ex the Adder,Entity XF, T20, Nero etc… would love to see you do a video on that

I fell in love with the Jugular sound, very similar to XA-21. I drive it all the time just for the sound of it :)
You can manually shift DCA at the top of the rpm let off the throttle then begin to push the throttle again and it will sound like a manual and shift to the next gear
The backfin cauquette jesus it sounds crazy good.

Personally I think the Grotti Stinger is the best sounding car in the game, it just sounds so addicting, and then also the vapid stainer sounds very addicting when you over rev it
GT500 is up there as well, imo.
My favorite is the Franken Stange best exhaust note imo my 2nd favorite is the either the buffalo stx or stirling gt with the hsw in it 😊

Honorable mention is the X-80 Porto. So many pops when it shifts. Sounds like an Indy car as well
If you go into first person with the elegy retro custom, you get a really nice turbo flutter going from 1st to second

Some constructive criticism - the footage for each car doesn't do their sounds justice. Would've been super easy to go to a more isolated part of the map (or set up an empty custom race) and used the Rockstar Editor to put the camera closer to the exhaust - that would eliminate all of the ambient noises and NPCs and would allow you to hear the finer details of the sounds way better. Still, your car picks were good!

There are some cars that I don't even put the turbo just to hear the clean voice of the exhaust.
Lampadati Casco was one of the best sounding cars its kinda similar to the stirling sound
