I'm a bourbon newbie. Been watching some episodes and found this bottle on my local store's shelf. Decided to try it and dang I'm glad I did. No ice or water needed and barrel proof? Simply amazing.

Haven’t opened the C920 yet but for me B520 > C919 > A120. Toasted Barrel is good but I prefer OF 1910
Audio is on point, sounds like I’m in the room with you! Haven’t cracked my C920..... And now I need one more! I have only been into Bourbon since April 2020 ECBP has put my preferences into the 115+ proof range. 1920 rocks, Old Ezra 7 is quite good, I have even gotten lucky and found a Stagg Jr Batch 14. The flavors that explode with high proof cannot be beat.
I still say, in the current market climate, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is hands down the best bourbon for the price. Ive only had 1 batch that was off, but all the others have been well worth it. Better than a lot of the allocated whiskies that come out this time and better than the overpriced unobtainable stuff from Buffalo Trace.

Let it shoulder drop. Don't dutch oven this bad boy...it demands a little air! If you don't love it after that, I will find a tag-team partner, you partner up, and we will fight it out in your kitchen!
Upon further review: WOW. This is a great bottle

Bonus content: I just looked and have an unopened c920 as well,but my b517 will be hard to beat though.
I snagged two bottles at $55 each recently. IMO This will hang with Stagg jr. Then when you factor in you can get two bottles of this for the price of one stag jr, it makes this a great buy for sure. Also Really like the B520, but think this one is better. I love OF1920 but this is $8 cheaper for me than OF1920 and I consider OF1920 a good buy. Great review guys.

Never been big Elijah Craig fan but, this video made me give it another try. Popped a C920 this evening and wow. Love Stagg Jr but so hard to find. This and Larceny Barrel proof may be my new go to. Thanks for review
About halfway through a bottle of C920 and it is wonderful.

Just picked up two of these to go with the 520 I already had. Found them sitting in a hole in the wall store. Boom! Better lucky than good.
This makes me so happy because I managed to get a C920 but didn’t get an A or B, and every other review I’ve seen so far has ranked B as the best. Woo!

Managed to get two bottles of this for $32. First time I ever seen barrel proof around my area besides rare breed. Guessing they thought it was same as small batch. They lasted for bout 4 weeks and now I’m sad.

Audio was spot on! The Total Wine by my house in Minnesota puts out hard ti find or allocated stuff on Tuesdays and I happened to get an EH Taylor last week and got the C920 today, cant wait to try it!
I don’t want to totally lose my mind and say The Best Ever, but it easily one of the top 3 bourbons I’ve ever tried. I have a bottle of B520 that hasn’t been opened, but it’s amazing!! I try to get 2 bottles when it’s released during the year. Great review!!

Managed to procure all 3 of this year's ECBP, but waited until I got all of them to blind them neck pour on down. Can't wait to see which I prefer.

sounds like I need to go buy three or four so I can bunker a couple and enjoy them for a while, your description of c920 is right in my lane of flavor profile. I liked the b520 and couldn't get past the alcohol overpowering the a120. costco normally get five to six cases and sells them for 48.99.

Going through my neck pour right now and I can't wait to see if this opens up a bit. That Larceny BP A120 saltiness is pretty good in an EC BP product.

I just had a totally fresh neck pour from my C920 and it wasn’t great, might leave the bottle open for awhile before trying again.
Its about time you guys refined your palates. ECBP has murdered SJR for quite some time.... You guys just needed to catch up.

C920 is good to me, but I definitely prefer B520. B520 is spectacular to my taste.
Just had to go back and do a B-C compare after watching. B is still the big winner for me. B leaves my mouth watering, wanting more. The finish on C is a very dry, sour oak that sucks all the moisture from my mouth. Will be interesting to see you blind these.
I have b and c, i keep seeing b520 is better, but I like c920 better! i get dark red cherries or choc covered cherry.
As I've been fighting my bottle of A118, this seems like I might need to go look for this. Also, probably the best sounding video yet.
I am planning to open mine tonight. Walked into a new to me, little store over the weekend and they had several of these on the shelf for $65. I'm in California and I can barely ever find these and when I do they are marked up significantly. Behind the glass at this store was Stagg Jr #14 for $150, several Wellers, all over $130 each. I haven't had Stagg Jr 14 and was tempted, but declined to ponder it. Sounds like I should just save my money and buy another one of these! I'm hoping I like as much as you both. Thanks for the video.

I actually didn’t get the A or B batches this year so my next comp is C919 and I’d take C919 over C920 every time. C920 had a slight floral note for me that I didn’t love
ECBP isn’t exactly easy to find around here but it’s a lot easier to find than Stagg Jr. I paid $67 for the C920.
The Stagg Jr is going for $139 at most local places and it’s available maybe 5 random days a year.
I'd take 2 920s over 1 stagg jr

How much "air time" do you need it to breath? Is it once for the bottle, or on each pour? Also, do you this for all bourbon? Thanks
Usually we open things and then let them sit for a couple days.

Just picked one up yesterday in MD. Payed $75 for it, thought I overpaid. You guys said is worth that much and once I tasted it I totally agree.
Just found one. Amazing tasted it against Rare Breed and this won hands down. Beat out the toasted barrel as well. Going back to get another tomorrow!!
I picked up 2 of these and there are still about 6 C920’s on the shelf for the last 3 weeks at my NC ABC. $59.95. Maybe I should just buy them all. 🤔

This seems to be a bottle that is polarizing. Some other reviewers (rhymes with Pat Morter) said the same thing.... but a couple other reviews have put it behind B520.
Better audio to hear Dan make up words, is nice.
Blind will be very telling for us.
A prominent whiskey writer also gave it a “pass” as far as purchasing the C920 in a recent video review ..... 🤔

Fred and us are polar opposites when it comes to HH. He seems to really enjoy the HH profile of the past and for sure more nuttier Bourbons than us

So Dan, you contradicted yourself from your blind flight with the 2021 batches and C920. In this one, you said at 6:23 that this was “the least HH of the ECBPs. In the other one you said it was “the most HH of the ECBPs”.
You guys are the greatest. Can't wait to try this but it is super hard to get here in Iowa.
Closest ones I can find are 300 miles away and $85. Time for another residence.

I normally agree with you guys, but I prefer B520 to the C920 personally.
So just for clarification Barrel Proof "Batch" A-B-C XXX should all have the same flavor profile (Batch A tastes like Batch A and Batch C tastes like C ect.) respectively correct? They are "straight from the barrel" but in this case its batches of barrels that are not watered down and therefore it could be significantly different from their single barrel offerings correct?

Yeah this things is a delicious toasted chocolate candy bar ice cream sundae Treat. We get it for roughly 75$ in Jersey which is about commensurate with the markup we get on most bottles.
It's worth every penny of $75 for sure
When it shows up on shelves in 6 month I’ll be sure to buy one. Stores near me are still packed with A120.

I think you should try for a B520 and decide for yourself. I liked B520 better.

I need to try this in a real glass. I've only ever had it in a plastic cup as it's my desk bottle at work. With my current tastings I like b520 better but the cup may have alot to do with it. Lol
