Where does grass come from?
How is grass grown?
If you are interested in any of the equipment I'm using, check out my new page Turf and Tools / @turfandtools where I review equipment that I am sent and use. If you'd like to send something for me to show, send me an e-mail timthelawnmowerman@gmail.com
Hi! My name is Tim The Lawnmower Man and I love to clean up overgrown yards and make fun videos doing it. I'm able to do them for free as these videos have ads on them and the revenue from that enables me to cover my cost.
I'm always looking for the worst yards around. Sometimes I drive around looking for them, sometimes viewers send me suggestions.

This is great stuff, Tim. I honestly never realised how interesting it would be.
You do a great job as an interviewer. It's informative, fun, and educational. If you wanted to expand your VLOGs, you could probably do an endless series on practical jobs like this, since I suspect most of us watching are office workers of some sort. As a completely random example, you could do a VLOG where you interview a fire fighter.
This was VERY interesting stuff, Tim! Thanks for visiting the turf farm & sharing it with all of us!❤
I went to school with pat, great bloke and killing it in the turf game
Nice to see my cousins farm on the tube! 😊
This is why I like your blogs so much. You have the most interesting content. Who would have known about ‘turf farms’ without your interest. Great video. 👏👏❤
Interesting and pretty neat to see the machines and how it is cut and all. You know you are a grown up when you enjoy a field trip to a grass farm, err.. lawn grass farm. 😄
Thank you Tim 👍 I often wonder where turfing came from, and how it was made so neatly, and ready to lay👍 Great video 👍
Have a lovely day Tim ❤
Good stuff Tim. Kartik makes a great apprentice, get him in front of the camera more!
Well, that was weirdly interesting to me😅. Loved seeing how the machines actually worked 👍😃
There us a turf farm about six miles from me. I've never seen them harvest it but it is beautiful to see all that flat, green lawn.
I don’t make pre judgments lmao. That sweet little girl doggy sure liked her some Tim 😂❤️
Love the vlogs of you doing your own yard and its very interesting and enjoyable to watch, Ive been doing landscaping for the last 2 years and still am learning new things.
LOVE these kinds of episodes! Super interesting and again, a good insight into an industry not many people would normally get to view. Keep it up mate! 👍🏻👍🏻
0:06 yay another vlog. I love these….haven’t even watched 10 secs of this one and I’m excited 😂😂😂😂😂😂
G'day Tim,
Thanks to the Farm for letting you do the tour, 4:55 You were in the Forkin' Way Tim 😂.
Before I moved down to Nowra I was doing Hort & Construction at Ryde TAFE, we went to one of the Turf Farms at Castlereah.
Brilliant vlog! Would love to see heaps more about the turfing. Cute pups too 😊
That's a great video! So informative and fun to watch!! It's perfect for us "grass nerds". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow! I’m so amazed how they make it look so easy. Maybe it’s their equipment. Thanx for doing this for us. There are a lot of grasses you have that I’ve never seen here in the states.
🤗🤗🤗~Becka
Wow how satisfying is that harvesting to watch?!
Well this was cool. Learn something new everyday 👍🏼🇺🇸
We call that stuff sod (which is not a salacious word in the States)
Turf has become a connotation for synthetic grass (Astroturf being its origin)
Cool! I found that super interesting!
Thanks Tim, that was very interesting. 💚
Absolutely excellent documentary, Tim! Very informative story.
I have Zoysia in my yard and love it! It spreads very slowly so plugs are needed for patchy areas that aren’t Zoysia. It’s really soft underfoot, but hard to mow unless you have a riding mower or a self-propelled. The only drawback is it turns brown in late fall going into winter yet greens back up quickly in the spring.
Great additional Q’s from Kartik 👌
Wow, that was really interesting and so beautiful and peaceful. God bless you and yours from Yuma Arizona, USA.
You're COOL that was best clip seen yet😊
Another excellent video Timmo 😊😊
Great video. Great to have some informative videos and tour.
Very interesting to see how turf is grown and harvested. Thanks for sharing.
Good on ya Tim bloody legends love your RUclips clips
We had Bermuda grass back in the 1960’s in Southern California when I was growing up. The Bermuda grass has rhizomes too. But that stuff would take over flower beds and drove us bonkers keeping after it. I wonder if the turf you were talking about is a hybrid of Bermuda grass? Thanks, very interesting video.
See you can learn something every day thank you for this God bless you 🙏❤️
Very interesting video. Thanks!
That was very interesting, I love the masjien operating the grass😊
How interesting! Thanks for the content!😄
When I was 17 yrs old I worked at a sod farm, dirt/mud from head to toe every day.
Totally cool Tim.
It’s wet from rain but I was watching closely and the machine was pouring out water as it was cutting
thats some nice grass right there
Hey Tim, could you do a in-depth vlog or part of the vlog on your car setup. With the ramps and all that and how you clip them on to the ute. Really curious on how to setup my ute
Very interesting all we see is the end results
Grass envy now as it seems we can't get a bunch of that over in NZ. Your vlog seems to be good for that! haha
Great video Tim!
Being from up north in the states where grass is easily sown by seed, Ill soon be moving to warm season grass land and seeing how these types are cut and rolled for sports fields is pretty nice! Would def like some input for what to put in that's real good for pets
That is Good Looking Tim
Great video, interesting info, thanks
That was really interesting.
Very interesting to watch. Carthic is a huge asset to get him more involved mate. As others said over here it's not uncommon to find farmers creating turf plots for sports venues. That said it's impressive to see in action.
That was fantastic. More please. Geoff Shepparton
That was fascinating! We have a couple sod farms near us and have wondered about the process. It appears to be a different process than here but assume similar. Loved this. Thank you.
Very interesting, thanks
I live near turf farms. Its grown near tobacco farms in northern Connecticut U.S.
Very interesting, Tim
Cool bannanas thanks
One of your best
D
What is the best grass for a back yard that gets VERY wet with the heavy subtropical summer rain (despite drainage)? Side of the house is quite shaded, but back gets a lot of sun. The grass is only now recovering after extreme amount of rain around the new year. I think it is buffalo atm.
Do you know if they use multiple mowing setups for each variety or the same mower across all their varieties… would there be a risk of cross contaminating one variety over to another?
😂🌟Jana 🌟👍👍👏❇️✴️✳️
Very interesting. Do you have to pay residuals to the dog actors? I assume you guys work for beer and pizza.
Turf farms...mower factory next?
Would love to. A little tough as not much is made here
@@timthelawnmowerman yes, of pretty much anything now. Even importing loo paper. Ridiculous
@@timthelawnmowerman Me and my old Rovers are sad on that.
17:20 LMAO @ "I dont make pre judgements about the dogs gender..."
This has been going on in the UK for years and years and how football clubs change the pitches every season.
They are making carpet lawn
😊
👍
How in world i dont know but the neighbors theirs jumped my fence.
Lot of info
If my dog got to run around on that, she’d think she’d have died and gone to heaven.
what would an acre of grass cost
Planted my lawn using seed, Turf is the weak.
