    Liner Notes:
"The son of Manuelo and Cresencio, emigrants from Mexico, C.C. Ruiz is a product of the Big Depression. Following the crops between his Arizona homeland and California he played such diverse roles as high school dropout, pachuco gang leader, gardener, bus boy, sheet metal worker, service station attendant, bartender, amateur boxer, swamper, salesperson, community organizer, night club entertainer, farm worker organizer, truck driver, and paratrooper.
At the age of 27 the artist decided to give education another try. He earned his cap and gown in 1953 after attending an Adult Basic Education Program at the same school he had once been expelled from. In 1968 he introduced the first Chicano Studies Department in the United States at East Los Angeles College. In 1973, Chris Ruiz proudly donned cap and gown once again to receive his P.h.D in Education Administration.
Today, as folksinger sociologist, educator, social worker and film, television and radio performer consultant, Chris continues to enlighten people about people. He lives in San Jose with his wife, Gloria and four small children: Luiz, Kimberly, Chris, and Ricardo."
