John Hoy....I remember an interview later when Bette was talking about Jimmy Stewart and stated that she wished she knew him when he was young as she certainly would have “set her cap” for that wonderful man. You could actually see she just adored him after finally meeting him .
Excellent film! Never saw this before. I was watching an old episode of Carson in which; Ms. Davis was a guest. She brought up two film titles; I never saw. Thursday's Child and Right of Way. I wanted to see them both. This one is better than good; with these two. Eager to see Thursday's Child now!
Me 2, I would let them get mad @ me all they want, and would tell them that committing suicide is very selfish, un4given and suicide leads to Hell. Just call the suicide prevention hotline. In the Bible Jesus spoke alot about the Horrors of Hell. More preachers are talking Horrors of Hell,
What about their cats? Who'll take care of them now? its obvious from the end scene that the cats were just left to fend for themselves. As a cat lover myself, no true cat lover would do this without worrying about how their cats would be looked after once they're gone.
great movie, the only thing i have a problem with, is the lack of thought of what would happen to their cats, i've known many older people. and they would never do this without knowing who would take care of the cats,in fact most older people are kepted alive by the caring of their animals. in this film there isn't even a mention of what would happen to them.
They could've @ least given their cats to a friend, neighbor, or family members. Or taken to a animal shelter 2 🐝 vaccinated, fixed, and sent to a 4ever home. I would've taken in one or 2 cats, agree 2 have them vaccinated, spayed and neutered and I would give them a 4ever home.
Steven Spielberg considered Bette Davis for the role of ET when he saw this but ultimately decided to go down the animatronic route despite the uncanny resemblance.
What a wonderful movie. I cried all the way through part 12.
BETTE DAVIS and JIMMY STEWART - THE BEST!

Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
after seeing this I looked for and watched the movie in its entirety...the ending was much different...just what they didn't want💔
Great movie. Dying with dignity their way. !
Thank you so much for uploading this. I had not seen this in years and in fact forgotten it. What a great work. Thanks again! Brent
I would have to bust the garage door

@@nataliegillmore7436 There is no hell.

Selfish people would, and did.
It was all set so the cats were taken care of. Also, there's a different version with another ending.

Maybe they put them in a kennel, or gave them away. Or ... it’s a plot hole.
Agreed. No true cat lover would do this without making arrangements first about how their cats would be cared for once they're gone.
They obviously didn't give a sh!t about them.

@@michaeldouglas9394 if they did they would've find 4ever homes for those cats.
I like the way the daughter waits to make sure they're dead to assure her inheritance. It's what most people would do.
There is no inheritance.
...You Missed the Whole Point... it Wasn't about her Inheritance... it was About Honoring her Parents Wishes...
don't they know plastic dryer vents are unsafe??
All the daughter did was speed up the inevitable. If she kept her mouth shut she probably would have had more time with them.
@nurwhkify it sure can be, if your heart is there.
They got frisky in the car
JESUS CHRIST!
……and the cats?
I'm so upset!
They should be in the back seat.

Oops, I thought it was Jimmy Stewart and Janet Yellen.
