I remember the year she died and thinking how the world had lost someone it would never be able to replace. Each time I see this movie, but especially this clip, which is my favorite, I know I wasn't wrong.
Yep....I too felt the same when she died..I knew the film industry lost a major star that would not be replaced. No one had that allure worldwide, not even Miss Taylor.
The TV coverage in August of '62 was wall-to-wall. I had just turned six. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother spoke about it all day long. I knew Marilyn Monroe from Gentleman Prefer Blondes (1953) and Bus Stop (1956) which were on TV quite a bit. I was too young to fully appreciate what we had lost when Marilyn Monroe died but I still feel it going on fifty-nine years later.
Marilyn is simply brilliant and highly underrated in all her movies! Niagara was her first major starring star role and she was simply brilliant in it! The way she edges on her husband in this scene and act all innocent after is so beautifully done and she really knows how to connect with the camera! She had a magic which not many have!
@@kiranjitKaur61 She never got the recognition in her lifetime, she had some great dramatic performances- Niagara, Don’t Bother To Knock, Bus Stop, Misfits along with great comedies. Even in her last interview before her death she have asked the journalist not to make her look like a joke. She made millions to the studio, but her salary was relatively low compared to other stars of the era.
@@tayloralisonswift9544 Popularity doesn't mean you weren't underrated. She was underrated as an actress and as a woman of substance. Even today, the dumb blonde myth prevails. She is still underrated.
@@kiranjitKaur61 Jayne is different. She was never a serious actress, besides Wayward Bus she never tried to act, just as herself. Before her accident she got into alcoholism too deeply to reignite her career and ended up making appearances in small supper clubs… downmarket nightclubs as a parody of herself. Marilyn was different, she has tried deeper and had her own production company, unheard of it at the time as a woman , but her demons and early death prevented to show where it could have gone. Marilyn had a short 10 year career when she was famous, 15 counting the early years, but have achieved a lot during those years… her movies are still widely watched and liked by many…
She is the best! No-One ever reached her standards! I am thrilled by her 1952-1954 looks and her acting. Natasha did a great job as a drama coach, we have to admit. Her Rose is great, her Lorelei is unrivalled and her Pola is sweet. This scene is perfection!
Okay so I never thought she was that beautiful, but in this clip she sort of glows? She looks like a stunning magical being. She had something really special.
Part of the reason Marilyn was so perfect looking and acting is that she had the most horrible early (and later) life. She was an abused orphan. Acting and dressing like she did was like a shield; she was almost untouchable, as she must have wanted, and yet desired, something else she wanted. Before she died she was constantly late to every meeting and shoot. She admitted she did this because she needed to feel that young Norma Jeane was wanted, when as an orphan she was shuffled around to 11 foster homes, never wanted by anyone. Poor Marilyn.
Marilyn was never an "orphan". Her mother was mentally ill and promiscuous, and wasn't really sure who Marilyn's father was, so he was never there. The mother would take care of her for awhile, and would then either leaver her someplace or would be hospitalized. So it's definitely true her childhood was painful, but it's not true she was an orphan.
@@heidithomas5455 lmfao what? Hollywood was controlled by the directors/prpducers, Marilyn could only try impress them in personal and professional spheres, as did many, many other actors and actresses. She was literally a sex icon, her sexuality is her whole thing, so that gave her a leg up, but like everyone else she was at their mercy. No dramatic takeover. And she was late a lot, true, especially towards the end of her life which really points more to her depression than her being a power-hungry brat
How could you not love Marilyn? Ever since I was a little girl, I've just adored her. From her tragic story, to her rise as the most iconic female star EVER. Her elegance, grace, charm, humor. She's the ultimate goal. ❤
Everything about her look and how she's styled is seductive and epitomizes femininity. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but her image was carefully crafted and holds up as the pinnacle of timeless female beauty.
This time period was so beautiful, everything was so much more elegant and artistically captured, in today’s world everything comes off as pornographic and passionless...
Yeah, I understand it wasn't a perfect time because of the misogyny and racism but the way they dressed up and acted was so elegant. I wish we could at least revive that from the 50s.
@cm. CG Obviously someone was going to bring that up if I didn't so I did what had to be done. Misogyny didn't exist back then in some cultures, not sure about racism though but humans are tribalistic but that doesn't justify bad behaviour.
@cm. CG And a lot were not misogynistic. So what is your point? You're using "Everyone did it back then" as an excuse to justify your thoughts and beliefs? Crazy.

I love what she overcame and respect her endurance. An amazing, incredible lady who could have worn hot pink taffeta into her 80s and 90s had she lived longer. 💗🌺💃
This is by far her best movie. She has the ability to play, sexy, coy, mean, crazy, hysterical, and not just the ditzy blonde that everyone thought she was. Yes, she could play that character too, like in Some Like It Hot (great movie also), but she was also able to do so much more!!!!
If a man ever asked me with a condescending tone "Why don't you ever wear a dress like that?" I would stand up and answer with a big smile "I was just about to ask you the same question." Then I would leave and drink a glass of champagne :-)

I remember the year she died and thinking how the world had lost someone it would never be able to replace. Each time I see this movie, but especially this clip, which is my favorite, I know I wasn't wrong.
Rachel Lovejoy I’m 16. I was born in the wrong time.
Yep....I too felt the same when she died..I knew the film industry lost a major star that would not be replaced. No one had that allure worldwide, not even Miss Taylor.
@@morganb673 well she passed away in 1962 so to live with her u would have to be 20s or 30s born and u would be old or dead by now
The TV coverage in August of '62 was wall-to-wall.
Hello pretty
No she wasn't underrated. She was the most popular person in the 1950s. She was the first superstar in this industry and second is Elvis Presley.
Marilyn had a short 10 year career when she was famous, 15 counting the early years, but have achieved a lot during those years… her movies are still widely watched and liked by many…
omg she's like a moving sculpture
"Niagara" is one of Marilyn's best movies. A must see!
She was the epitome of womanhood, absolutely ravishingly beautiful.
She is the best! No-One ever reached her standards! I am thrilled by her 1952-1954 looks and her acting. Natasha did a great job as a drama coach, we have to admit. Her Rose is great, her Lorelei is unrivalled and her Pola is sweet. This scene is perfection!
Well, there was Brigitte bardot ...
Laura Allen who?
Laura Allen serious? She doesn’t hold a candle to Marilyn
@@cocochocs3126 rude
Lmo Brigitte was actual natural beauty ( love Marilyn tho )
Yes untouchable is the word!
Her talent is beyond doubt, but how could you truly attribute it to her abuse? That seems more like you're romanticizing it, which, well, isn't good
@@heidithomas5455 lmfao what? Hollywood was controlled by the directors/prpducers, Marilyn could only try impress them in personal and professional spheres, as did many, many other actors and actresses. She was literally a sex icon, her sexuality is her whole thing, so that gave her a leg up, but like everyone else she was at their mercy. No dramatic takeover. And she was late a lot, true, especially towards the end of her life which really points more to her depression than her being a power-hungry brat

I think this is the most beautiful she ever looked, she's so charismatic and mysterious. I love her voice in this scene too, not so whispery.
How could you not love Marilyn? Ever since I was a little girl, I've just adored her. From her tragic story, to her rise as the most iconic female star EVER. Her elegance, grace, charm, humor. She's the ultimate goal. ❤
I’m going to keep playing this forever. This is amazing and will forever be amazing.
Her humming is so good to the ears. How wonderful.
Sweet
She was just so incredibly stunning.
Me Me
Jaw dropping, huh! 👍🙋♀️
Everything about her look and how she's styled is seductive and epitomizes femininity. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but her image was carefully crafted and holds up as the pinnacle of timeless female beauty.
She was so incredible.
She played this roll so good!
This time period was so beautiful, everything was so much more elegant and artistically captured, in today’s world everything comes off as pornographic and passionless...
Could you imagine them seeing people twerking. The days are not the same. Today is.....”ratchet”
Crazy.
Let's not forget having relationships with children was also a norm in many societies back then, that must be normal for you too. *Your logic*
She's mesmerizing😍
I wish she got to do more of these kind of films. I absolutely love this movie. She's so versatile 😍
She was captivating & truly stood out😍✨💋🤩
One of the gorgeous woman ever lived.
Marilyn Monroe is so so so beautiful
It was over for every female in the area once she stepped outside the door.
I agree.
How could a woman compete with her?
True but I will say the brunette actress in white is very pretty and I like her character :)
Frrrrrrr
@@emmad.176 Jean Peters. Gorgeous.
Marilyn singing while a breeze gently blows her hair is so iconic and beautiful. Marilyn is so luminous in this scene. Her skin just glows and she has never been more stunning and gorgeous. She had a good singing voice and she was so talented. I can't take my eyes off her in this Scene.
Gosh Marliyn is soo Iconic in so many Ways.💯🙏🏻🔥
Quality of scene is superb!! Sharp, crisp, and MM's sultry voice booms right throughout!
The MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN in the history of THE UNIVERSE!!!!And forever shall be!!!I was little girl when my dearest mum took me to the cinema to see this movie! Now i'm 54 but i still remember how amazed i was with this scene❤I couldn't believe she was real, because her beauty was indescribable!!!Since then this is my favorite movie❤❤❤❤Greetings to all her fans all over the world🙋♀️

Seriously, thank you! I love this. She is unbelievable. Almost unreal! Seriously the most gorgeous and special of all time 💋 👑 💋
She is absolutely breathtaking
Marilyn wore that dress perfectly. She did " lay down plans from 13" she was a smart women, financially, career wise with many of her movie roles and perhaps even in love Her song choice was perfect too -she knew real love and intimacy she was too mature emotionally for the many of the men of her era. I love what she overcame and respect her endurance. An amazing, incredible lady who could have worn hot pink taffeta into her 80s and 90s had she lived longer. 💗🌺💃
Que mujer tan espectacular gracias por conpartirnos estos videos.
"your husband doesn't seem to like music" lol
3:26 !
😂😂
🤣🤣
Glamour, glamour, glamour....Marilyn had it all and more! She says it when she sings.....Perfection!
A lovely woman. Lost to us far too soon. If she'd been alive now, and getting on into her 90s, she'd STILL have been beautiful.
This is by far her best movie. She has the ability to play, sexy, coy, mean, crazy, hysterical, and not just the ditzy blonde that everyone thought she was. Yes, she could play that character too, like in Some Like It Hot (great movie also), but she was also able to do so much more!!!!
She’s so Beautiful when she’s singing the song, wearing her pink dress and her hair is blowing into the wind
A great diva of all of times
She’s incredibly beautiful
SHES LITERALLY SUPER PRETTY AND THAT BODY LIKE everyone would die for that especially now. Shes talented tooo like my heart♥️
She had such a hard life. I hope there were moments she was genuinely happy. RIH queen ♥️♥️♥️
Such a beautiful scene. The colors and lighting is so mesmerizing and of course Marilyn Monroe the goddess.
2:37 marilyn monroe is the woman that everybody wants to admire ... she's just magical ❤
Its sad that hollywood ruined her :/
Only Ms. Monroe can pull of red lips with a fuchsia/hot pink dress. Only her😍
The BEST Marilyn scene and wardrobe IMHO!! Wow! Stunning! 💗 RIP, Marilyn. 💔🌹🌿
Marilyn looked stunning in that dress.
Beautiful. She was so beautiful.
Stunning lady in this movie as all her movies.. But this out ranks them all
My all time favorite female movie star ⭐️... no one can touch her ❤️

So beautiful
I would hate if my husband spoke to me like that.

vetervgolovy I’d sternly tell him to behave
If a man ever asked me with a condescending tone "Why don't you ever wear a dress like that?" I would stand up and answer with a big smile "I was just about to ask you the same question." Then I would leave and drink a glass of champagne :-)
