The AE86, unless you dump loads of power into it, is a true driver's car. The lap times you set are purely because of you, the driver. This lap was made by you. The car did nothing but run according to what you input, which is the beauty of an older car.
that's really the truth, if you have a Toyota supra, but you are a bad driver, you can be beated by an underpowered car, i saw that many times. The car can be really good, but don't forget, you are his soul, and he is your body, that's what i think.

Great lap, you are a very skilled driver for sure, a lot of porsches try to do sub 9, and they fail, and you have archived it in pretty stock ae86 without any help of TC or ABS. You sir are real Takumi.

I get so much excitement and satisfaction from seeing the lines you choose. Not that I'm anything other that an average fan, but I still had the impression that you generally were able to maintain much of Your speed around the twisty bits, a must if you want to make a quick lap in such an underpowered (and charming) car. Good driving, good car. Please treat us With some more of the same :)

Great driving and looked like a lot of fun. I have to say it was torture watching you sit in 5th gear without any power, but so nice in the turns, just carving em up!
It wasn't THAT bad. On this trip's (I think) 3rd lap which I also uploaded, there was an MX5 with Italian plates had me half the lap behind him and just WOULDN'T MOVE aside. I had to divebomb him near Brünchen, I think it was in Wippermann to pass him.
That was an awesome video. I was shouting at that white SUV to move, and I was counting down the seconds after the last corner when the gantry was in sight. I would love to do this myself one day. You're living my dream, Jorge lol #youbetterbelieveitsunder9
@UCjQaIIklFY9upvkI_136V5A thanks again. If I could spend the expense, I'd really like to have a softer setup, but that implies redoing a complete custom setup, in order to increase stroke. If you have a look at my MR2 video from this summer, you'll see I was able to make it a much longer-stroke and softer stroke, being much more street-focused, and even with a less forgiving platform, I am able to go at least as fast in the corners

Awesome drive man, thanks for sharing. One thing to consider would be to smooth out your turn-ins. Many times you are pretty violent at turn in, and upset the chassis, and then you must counter-steer even before the car takes a set.
Thanks! you're probably right, but this car is not the most eager car to turn-in, and many times I rather provoke it and throttle steer my way throughout the turn, than understeering on my way in. Thanks for your feedback, though!

Racer200 It's a corolla. Trueno is the name of the car with that design. Like the one without closeable headlights is called a levin.
