    I really enjoy that you're alternating between the Arena and MTGO replays! I don't mind watching MTGO videos, but I think I would have gotten tired if the 5 were all released in a row. I find I'm able to pay attention to the MTGO videos and enjoy them much more when they're spread out like this. :)

    • @majordude83
      @majordude83 3 месяца назад +2

      It's an incredibly dumb design for so many reasons.
      It's the first 3/4 Flying for 1MN with no downside ever printed (Feather, the Redeemed, is close, but it's 3/4 Flying for MMN, so it's slightly harder to cast), and, like you mentioned, the upside would still be absolutely-f'ing absurd even if you cut it in half.
      It should have been a 2/2 or a 2/3 with a once-per-turn clause. With it's actual stats/ability, they should have made it a Commander/Legacy-only card (but Simic commander players definitely didn't need it, either).

    This is a classic super pushed card. 2/4 or 3/3 flier isn't good enough. It has to be the biggest on rate 3 drop flier (with no downside) ever! Once per turn? Why not be silly and make it twice per turn? The ability just applies for itself? Nah. It works for all of your creatures. Well it only triggers when you target it? Nope. It also triggers when a foe targets it, so it effectively acts as Ward for all your creatures. Oh and throw in abilities for good measure so we can use repeatable effects with it, like equipment. It doesn't merely net you a card, it also ramps you because this is simic! And God forbid the land be tapped. This is modern. Just. Keep. Pushing!

    One other thing as well is this is going to be terrible (from an enjoyment standpoint) for tournament play. I think if you had to use Greaves to combo, it would be a lot worse. Greaves cannot re-activate on a creature it's already equipped to because that creature has shroud, so you need at least Nadu + Greaves + another creature. And, Shuko is fetchable off Urza's Saga and costs half what Nadu does.
    Still a dumb card, just an argument to keep it around for a bit longer even if Shuko dies for its sins.

    • @Peronioz
      @Peronioz 3 месяца назад +5

      Banning Shuko will NOT solve this issue. Making a combo 1 mana more expensive doesn't make it at all balanced.
      I think the way to go is either banning Nadu or at the very least, doing a "Companion errata" and changing the amount of triggers per turn.
      But of course they won't do that, otherwise MH3 won't sell as much...

    Kinda wild for people to say this card is "too strong" when there actively main-deckable cards in most colors to deal with it.
    Blue has counter magic and Narset.
    White has extremely efficient removal for Nadu like Solitude and P. Ending, plus sideboard solutions in spirit of the labyrinth.
    Black also has efficient removal, plus Sheoldred and Bowmaster.
    Red has player removal.
    Heck, the only color that doesn't have maindeck strengths against Nadu is green, which can still easily deal with its equipment to remove its extreme advantage, and the biggest Gx deck in the format is Titan, which laughs in turn 3 win.
    This isn't the case like Oko where you can't interact with it as well as a creature, nor is it necessary to board in solutions like Uro or Hogaak, this is a slightly bigger than average creature that yes, is very powerful, but is by no means unbearably strong, match one here is prime example of just how easy it is to disrupt the combo.
    Dunno, seems like a lot of big talk coming from a deck that lost one of its matches and barely won the other two.
