So true! I am bogged down with thinking, I am tired of thinking!!!!!! I also try not to offend people with what I say, and am always SHOCKED every time other people are so out spoken in rude ways!!!!! I'm like that's not fair, I would never do or say those things!!!!!! Then again I also have libra mid heaven, and Mars in libra. I am quiet and it's hard for me to get my words out sometimes. I have to study my surroundings first and I constantly teach my daughter through direct communication. I do feel like a freaking genius as well!
oh god, that is so true! i am always thinking, calculating, considering things. a simple question can send my mind into a frenzy. i was that student with the stack of flashcards, dotting all my i's and crossing my t's, and then going back to double check once more, and triple checking once again until it felt right. it was not OCD, as i'm actually a very sloppy and lazy person (venus in 5th). but when it comes to things i care about, it's borderline obsessive. i really struggled in grad school because of that as i didn't always have time to be that meticulous, so i had a lot of nervous energy. my mind is constantly making connections with the past and present. even something simple like the way a can is opened will make old memories and faces where i heard something similar flash across my mind. i get very nostalgic and started a blog to let out all that deadweight. that's also why i started trying to take up meditation to deal with the stress. lolol. my dad tells me to stop thinking so much.

You just described me lol. Even though I didn't have flash cards, but yea I always check things 2 to 3 times. The blogging, right on point. But nowadays some people read my blog, so I am unable to find an outlet and writing is liking breathing to me. I am unable to write diaries cos my family is very prying. Online nowadays not so much🙄Let me know if there is any alternative to it. Although I may be on the verge of finding an outlet for my thoughts.Edited to add I love apples too😊 Is that a mercury retro thing?
Meditation will definitely help you. I noticed that Yoga helped me a lot in school and then meditation in college was a blessing. Both things just catapulted my growth when I started them. Because of meditation, I am able to resist urges to think back or think about past events, I do not do that anymore. In fact, I have forgotten most of the stuff in the past while people remember it and definitely do not remember conversations only the gist of it and how all of that made me feel and the insights, I definitely remember facts. I made efforts to live spontaneously and in present. But I have observed that if I let that happen to think back on something it does start the vicious cycle and I have to make conscious effort to break it though this doesn't happen anymore. I too am very particular about making mistakes and if I do I definitely di nit want to repeat it.

I do the same thing! I’m extremely hard on myself in the areas of communication and communication in general gives me anxiety. I have it retrograde in Scorpio in the 10th only making three minor aspects.

My communication is excellent everyone around me come to me to draft letters and emails.. Good in negotiation skill too.. I Don't know why.. Although i think my communication is below average and constantly wanting to improve it🤣. If i have any enemies they just fall by themselves i don't do a thing i just ignore because i don't think they are enemies... Enjoying finding all your old content. Mercury Rx here, 3H. Definitely resonate with the careful/eloquent communication and overthinking aspects you mentioned. But I also have Venus and Jupiter in the 3H, so not entirely shy or over studious.
I have all the planets retrograde except venus :D I have observed that I had a hard time aligning myself in childhood, everything used to be intense and I did use to overthink, but I feel that has helped me be mature than people around me and deeper in in terms of insights and analysis where most people struggle and quite good intuition. I have noticed that my mind just connects the information I don't even have to think and I know what will happen in future (not like a fortune teller) if a certain path is taken or if something happens I accurately judge what is going on, I do not know if it is because of retro mercury but it is a blessing. Now I am like this is I am, take it or leave it, most people don't get me but appriciate :D

This is spot om for me. My mercury is retrograding through my fifth house. Kids usually like to play or talk with me but I don’t have own kids. I also think about what I did wrong in the past to be better for the future. And I also think a lot before saying something. One time when I didn’t think much it made me loose my girlfriend so now I think about that situation a lot. I really don’t want it to happen again with future girlfriends so I am improving myself😊
Born w/ Mercury retro in Leo 4 degrees from the Sun pulling away. I was misunderstood by adults as a child so I gave or did symbolic acts and it was in their ball court if they understood or not and I went about my play. Intuition was everything to me. If my heart said so it was FACT. Mercury went direct when I was 11 and then my analysis of situations kicked in. Much of what u said is true after age 11..

my son has this...trying to understand him...he had to pushed...to learn how read, and he stuttered and only I could understand him...for his first 10 years..He DID show a tendency to be silent and careful about what he says, but he also shows an inflexibility of mind and he has an 8th house Mars which I think causes RASH decisions that cause sudden trauma..so he was right to be careful..but in the end...he did make rash decision that he had no right to make that caused destruction to our family, and he harmed his little sister with his arrogance, and rash behavior.....so I hope he thinks that one over...for the rest of his life..
I think my son's Mercury..is derailed possibly by being squared by Jupiter..
His Merc (in rebellious SAG) is conj his 11th cusp...so maybe he is only carefully thinking about his social life..and not his family life or other matters?
His Merc retro is also semi square his Neptune conj ASC...so possibly this causes him to be a float with illusions/confusion?
I have Mercury Retrograde in Gemini! I guess it is retrograde because in my horoscope from your site their is a big `R` after it. And I totally find myself in this. Constantly thinking with speaking at the same time. Making sure I`m getting every aspect right. Also with learning. I get the highest scores and people want to have my summery`s all the time.

Yes, I was almost mute as a young child, so careful before I spoke if I even did. Quiet but I sure the heck can't stop thinking. I do talk now though, broke through that early on lack of tongue.

Mercury (R) in virgo 11th house.. It went retrograde the day before my birthday. Always feel like during the retrograde periods, I speak better, and I never had any problems with it... Except work contracts. Always go through what I said, no matter who I talked to. I remember every sentence and I go through how I responded and even their facial expression and reaction. I remember things from when I was a baby. Hard time remembering names, but I remember numbers. I forget titles and singers of songs, but I remember all the notes and the lyrics. I have a sense for details, if the subject interests me. If not, I am sloppy.

I have debilitated and retrograde mercury in 6th house. In examination while dealing with numerical questions I always use to verify and recheck my answers even though I have use scientific calculator.As some of my classmates said they did't do that and later on realized they went wrong.So I do agree with you as I scored little better.

It seems to always come out wrong. But my mind is quite sharp and can pick things up quickly, but I am not able to express it externally. I prefer to write emails rather than talk in person.and I have so much internal dialog in my head.. like i am having conversations with self...And of course i worry alot about my words offending people. especially since i have mars opposite in the 4th...

I was born under 8 retrogrades if you're including the north node and chiron. I have mercury and venus in gemini in my 1st house BOTH retrograde which i was told is kind of rare for both to be retrograde at the same time. But i find retrogrades to feel harmonious. I tend to have good luck where as others are freaking out about retrogrades, i feel a direct is unharmonious for me as others feel normal. But your description is true. I tend to very much focus on my looks. I have a 1st house stellium with ascendant(gemini), mercury Rx(Gemini), venus Rx(Gemini), chiron Rx(cancer) and sun (cancer) . Im into the arts, modeling and make up, and i like to articulate my words to appear smart and witty to others. 😁

Its ruining my life...I avoid interviews like the plague until I’m forced to have to just go and get it over with. May not affect some people when mercury goes retrograde, but its been interesting for me. I had no idea it was happening, but when I looked back at things in my life during the last year, its apparent I have been significantly affected by retrograde mercury, specifically when it went conjunct with sun, not only to the day but almost perfectly to the hour! possibly just a coincidence. I guess it has something to do with mercury being the strongest and most important planet in my BC.
I have mercury in retrograde in conjunction with the sun, in my 1st house. However I read this basically means someone with learning difficulties and slow. This really upsets me as I always thought of myself as being very smart and been told by people.

Im Mercery retrograde in Aries, but im nothing like that. I get the crazy ones or ones that are on the street tweeking that want to fallow me when i go walking and for some reason they think i want to talk to them and they call me friend or flirt some times when they just saaw me eating a burger or in the bathroom at the store weird stuff happens

I'm a Leo ascendant with a Leo sun. I LOVE talking but I feel like nothing like my signs most of the time. The funny thing is, my mercury placement is actually good. I have Mercury and Rahu conjunct together in the 2nd house in the sign of Virgo. These placements for perfect for very vocal people.
But as I have a retrograde Mercury and cancer moon and venus in 12th house is perhaps the reason why I'm so socially awkward and an introvert. I prepare any talk even when I'm playing games.
However, when I'm home and among my closest people, I do act like the lion. And I always wanted to be a public speaker.

My mercury is retrograde in 7th house. Last retrograde in feb. I felt fine actually I can t remember if i was feeling low, had relationship with someone during mercury R, i didn't notice it though that i said yes to him during R, and funny thing, it also ended when retrograde ended haha. It ended not becoz we fought but other reason, something that we can't do anything about it. I was so happy when i was with him though and he was sincere.

KRS, that ws superb ma'an. I don't hv Mercury retro, however my spouse chart has mercury retro in h7 n I m indeed thinking rethinking cautious as to hw I will raise a given issue with my spouse. This actually drains my energy. N this wen I don't hv me retro. N yes, my spouse also measures his words b4 talking to me. It's not good to hv me retro in marital relationships. .I have also o Mecury retrograde in Scorpio (besides also the Sun in Scorpio) and I have many problems with learning and comunitacion, sometimes very funny ( I say "left" instead of "right", I understand some other meaning of a word mentioned, etc. :), I need everything, what I learn, to be somehow emotional "colored" and to be involved in a more general kind of information (a "whole").If not, I just don t learn it.

I have retrograde Mercury conjunct with Sun Saturn Rahu in Taurus sign. And my retrograde Mercury holds lowest degree in the conjunction. And I was born on Wednesday.
I have mercury retrograde in natal chart. Oct 31 lost keys nov 1st lost wallet. OMG
Usually double check during retrograde but so much stress prior too this I’ve overlooked
I disagree with you when you say you would rather have mercury retrograde, I think there are other placements that promote careful thinking in a way that's much less "dwelling on the past" as you indicated. Saturn interacting with communication gives great results imo. I think mercury acts best when it's given freedom to look ahead.
I Have Mercury retrograde in my natal chart and it's in a stellium with Mars Uranus Neptune and the Sun so I'm wondering does that one retrograde planet affect the rest of the planets that are in the stellium with it ? I'm just assuming it does but I thought you might have something to add to that and it's in the 11th house Capricorn
