Blue Suede Shoes - Carl Perkins / Elvis Presley Cover - Jez Quayle Rock and Roll

I thought I'd try this rock 'n' roll classic in the key of G like Jerry Lee Lewis plays it, instead of the usual A. I play the Carl Perkins beginning (rather than the Elvis beginning).
'Blue Suede Shoes' was written and first recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955. It's considered one of the first rockabilly records, incorporating elements of blues, country and pop music of the time. Perkins' original version was on the Cashbox Best Selling Singles list for 16 weeks and spent two weeks in the number 2 position. Elvis Presley performed his version three different times on national television. It was also recorded by Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, ...and now me.

The version I play here is kind my own invention for acoustic guitar, but it's based on Carl Perkins' original recording.
