He’s a guy that rushed to be a part of a tyrannical government. He’s competent but was always gonna be undone by self interest cause that’s the only way you survive let alone succeed in such a society.
I really like how Cad immediately reads Emeries' character and then later hits her with the "Asking questions like that, you give away more than you think"
She almost called them children at first…then asked him “Where did the child come from?”. She didn’t say “specimen” or “asset” and he called her on it.
@@IslesYankeeLady I think that he couldn't care less tbh. He's a bounty hunter - he does the job and gets paid. He was ready to leave if it wasn't for Emerie asking questions. I don't think he has any interest about the project - he was just curious about what she was insinuating.
I love the bitterness in Tarkin's realization that he doesn't have the Emperor's complete trust. And as much as I despise Palpatine, I approve of keeping Tarken out of the project so critical to the Darth's continued existence. Tarkin's ambition is so great that he'd likely find a way to use Project Necromancer to gain power over the Sith.
Emerie giving Eva the doll reminds me of Nemik saying "there are entire battalion that have no idea they have enlisted". A small move, but it means everything
I’m so happy you represent all of us that are Star Wars enjoyers, it’s so refreshing and exciting to see your reaction in every content, you have such a beautiful soul and personality keep it up!! You guys are great!
Totally agree! I still love Star Wars and it upsets me to see any complaining or negative rhetoric. Our guys here are truly awesome fans and always positive!!
I'm not a parent, but this is a BRUTAL episode to sit through. Never have I wanted a rescue attempt the Bad Batch will do, to work, and get those poor kids home, or at least out of there.
I think you nailed it with THE PATH. I can see a show where Omega and some of these kids are being trained by Ventress/Vos…while whoever else survives starts THE PATH.
BRO!!!! Emerie is now my all time favorite as she's got heart throughout the entire episode when she discovered that the specimens are actually kids. She and Omega will do anything in their power to get those kids to safety by all means necessary.
Emerie is basically Omega if she was stuck in labs her entire life. She has never had to deal with questions like these before about the morality of this, but now she is asking, and finding that this is just wrong. I also love her giving the doll to the kids; as it helps show how Omega's spirit and influence warm those around her.
Scorch being the Commando leader is truly evil, reducing him to this puppet. Tarkin is really slimy, trying to muscle in on every big project, all to take credit if and when. Hemlock was clearly looking at a CX clone in that tube, so he might be upgrading one into a real badass
This episode really hit my emotions more than usual. I know we've seen stuff like this before, but just the casual cruelty of the kidnapping and the experimentation on kids. Woof
If you look closely at the holding area the force sensitive children are held in, all of the tables/benches and beds are made for bigger species/adults. The children all just let their legs hang because they can't even reach the floor. They just continued using the cells without actually refitting them for smaller bodies.
I'm not sure Tarkin actually is trying to, basically, be the strict middle-manager here. He might just have come across this super secret project he knows nothing about and now tries to butt in because he wants to have a hand in ever pot and realizes that he's not as important as he sees himself or as Palpatine wants him to believe. His threats might just be bluster, trying to intimidate Hemlock. And i'm pretty sure he's not even a Grand Moff yet at this point, so his reach and powers are still somewhat limited. Most likely TOO limited to interefere in a personal pet project of the Emperor.
Hemlock tells Emerie "In addition to the assets in sublevel containment level you will be given access to the vault" I wonder if the sublevel is where the experiments like the Zillo beast are and if the Sith like chamber shown to the emperor in S3:E3 "Shadows of Tantiss" is still going to be concealed from Emerie.
M count bounties probably fall into 3 categories. Jedi survivors, inquisitor recruits, and research subjects. But in the scene with Bane, I think Dr Karr is mostly feeling out the survival rate of the subjects.
Well given the numbering systems that they use for the children’s names, we can assume they have captured over 50 children, which is disturbing to think about😊
I know there are those who hate that Disney owns Star Wars and some of the content Disney has put out. There are good and bad in my opinion. But I remember a time when we were starved of Star Wars content, except for novels, comics, and occasional video games. I for one am grateful for the Disney pocketbooks and the mass of content we are getting now. Again I know some will claim it is terrible content and have nothing but negativity and will only say Disney has trashed their beloved universe. But I do not agree with them. Yes, I can nitpick here and there and I recognize there are some flaws. But none of those flaws reduce my excitement for every new series and episode. I welcome the opportunity to point out the good and the bad in a series. I am just happy that we get the content to critique. I was born when A New Hope was released. I was taken to see ESB, but was too young to really remember the experience. I do remember going to RotJ. I remember the excitement of the remastered release and then finally The Phantom Menace. 16 years we had to wait with only the video games, comics, and books. I had read the Timothy Zahn. books. I had even read the Original trilogy novels. I like many others craved Star Wars content. I love that we have new content coming out regularly, that the theme parks have a whole area of the park devoted to Star Wars. I absolutely love the content Disney is creating, even the ones I can tear down and do not like to consider as canon (movies 7-9). But even those I can still appreciate that I found entertainment in going to watch them with family and talking about the good, the bad and the terrible with family and friends. - I am thankful for Disney and the content that gives us and I will always dismiss the naysayers and haters who are so angry that they do not get exactly what their vision is that they will spill vitriol every chance they get. Those types of fans are toxic. Meanwhile, look at the stories we get here with Bad Batch, Andor, Tales of the Jedi, and even Star Wars Visions, which gives us a peek into how Star Wars has inspired others and their creative storytelling. Thank You, Disney.
We've known for a really long time that the Empire abducts Force sensitive children, even back in Legends. But seeing it play out and all of the implications suddenly made real...the Empire is scary man. Makes that Kenobi line in a New Hope ('Before the dark times...before the Empire') with the 1,000 yard stare even more haunting.
I hope with all my heart that she survives and is rewarded for her heroics by being free and able to live a happy life out of confinement, preferably surrounded by people who view her as an equal. Not every redemption arc needs to end with death.
If those kids aren't rescued, I think they'll survive but get transferred to Arkanis to be trained as Imperial agents. There were at least two "Projects" that involved the abduction of Force-sensitive kids. One was Project Necromancer, which we're seeing here, and the other was Project Harvester. The latter is what we saw bits of in Clone Wars and Rebels - the most notable victim was Zare Leonis' sister (he was the kid Ezra befriended when he infiltrated the Imperial Academy on Lothal). There's a tie-in novel where Zare did locate his sister being held in a secret facility on Arkanis, and he and the Ghost crew ultimately ended up saving her. Apparently the fate of kids like her was to be brainwashed and molded into Force-sensitive spies, which is coincidentally (or not?) very similar to Mara Jade's childhood back story from the EU. My guess is that if the kids fulfilled their purpose for Necromancer, they would still be viable candidates for Harvester provided they were impressionable enough to be indoctrinated as the canon equivalent of baby Emperor's Hands. Their whole situation is honestly really disturbing
I have a feeling those that are "sent home," will be like those in The Giver. Sent to elsewhere, simply killed and then lie to the others about their destination
I know they say this is the "final season" but you know... that's what they said about CW and then we got this, so like... seems clear that it's just gonna lead into the next show imo. We know this story is still going on in Mando and comes to a head in the sequels, so while the name of the show might change, we've still got a lot to see. My only hope is that these characters don't permanently die with this season.
Listening to you talk about Hemlock and downfalls of Imperials I have a prediction. During the final raid on Tantiss, Hemlock some how gets knocked into the lower containment level we have been hearing about then gets eaten by the Zillo beast.
I always look forward to your reactions the most! We finally got a Scorch name drop. And we are seeing a lot of him lately. Here's hoping that he somehow turns as well and Emerie and Scorch both get to take out Hemlock if Tarkin doesn't ruin him first. 🤣
The ominous Tarkin conversation might be the setup for Hemlock to be punished, possibly with his life, for the impending escape of the clones and force sensitive children. Let's hope....
Scorch is doing his job as a Soldier.......He doesn't care about the Morality of it..... Tarkin thinks that the financial funding should be going towards Project Stardust and not to other projects..... Cade Bane has captured more, in a Clone Wars Episode remember.......Obiwan and Cody helped to rescue the Force Sensitive Children.
There are a vast number of clone command codes. I think Emerie will get one that will allow her or someone in the Batch to take control of most, if not all, of the clones on Tantis.
The depravity of the Empire continues to sicken and enrage me. I know that my family says that I would most likely be a Jedi If I was force-sensitive in Star Wars and that I would follow the light side; but man stuff like this makes me wanna be a Mandalorian or a bounty hunter, and just blast away monsters like this. I’m a big Star Wars fan and I love the Legends/EU and I’ve been slowly been won over to liking canon too (not the sequels; that’s my personal opinion), So I know that the Empire is extremely depraved and evil, but it just sickens me every time.
The trailer for the new installment in Star Wars shorts series is out! This time titled "Tales of the Empire!" You need to watch the Trailer guys because it's amazing! You have no idea yet how many characters will be returning, including a very special one!
There are adult alien that are the size of Yoda and grogu. I know that the empire does bad things, which is why I think they have those handcuffs that are so small.
Great reaction and discussion! I think hemlock's hand tremble happened the same way Crosshair's did: the guy SAID he was immune but clearly he's being affected the same way. Feel like its going to end with him and Crosshair dueling, but with Crosshair dealing with the mental effects more and thus becoming victorious
I have to say this and let the chips fall where they may. I am so, so happy that Omega is NOT force sensitive. I got concerned long ago that Disney was going to give too many important characters force powers. My opinion, it lessens the mystery of the force. I do not need, nay want, to learn of every little aspect of the force.
I like this episode but I felt like it was a very quick turnaround for Emerie, I kind feel it should have taken a little longer (weeks and months not days and hours) or even if it was show as B story line over the last few episodes and we saw character development happen naturally not rushed.
When Emerie told Nala Se, "I don't have that kind of power", Nala's answer made me think that Emerie might be the force sensitive clone and Omega the perfect M cloning recipient.
Trying to figure out why they have to be tested every day. Do they have to do it to establish a base line, or to make sure the Midichlorians don’t leave the body?
What if Emerie injects Omega with some of the kids’ blood with its high m-count? Would Omega develop force powers? She already knows the meditation, and we know she is a fast learner/natural mimic. Thoughts?
I personally would like Hemlock and crew to fail. It's appropriate in the Rebellion era for the Empire and their Sith overlords to be slow and ponderous to respond to threats, just as the Galactic Republic and Jedi were when they were on top. Otherwise its decades straight of the good guys just being blithely ignorant of schemes that will screw them later. I also like them dropping more eps at once if the story mandates it. Tarkin trying to insert himself into every project he can. And when he fails the threats he pulls
I dont know how i feel about that. I am careful, because i love tarkin, and they are taking him in an interesting direction.

Major Stranger Things vibes in this episode, including the sound track with all of the synths.

Emerie is for the first time in her life having maternal feelings. She smiled when Eva got the doll
Those kids absolutely broke my heart this episode. And (in Gimli's voice) they say it's for kids! 😢

The Continuation Follow Up Series Should Be Star Wars: The Revenge Hemlock's Zillo-Beast Hand haha
GOOD DRS FOLLOW ORDERS
Tarkin is the biggerrst back stabber in ther world. Based on what he did to Krenic, there is no hope for old Hemlock.
Tarkin has no influence on Hemlock though as the Doctor has the Emperor's favour. Hemlock's undoing will be due to his actions or failure here.
The 25% zillo beast joke killed me 😂
The ominous Tarkin conversation might be the setup for Hemlock to be punished, possibly with his life, for the impending escape of the clones and force sensitive children. Let's hope....
I'm surprised neither of them shouted out "CAD BANE" the second we hear the spurs along with the footsteps out in the corridor.

Tarkin thinks that the financial funding should be going towards Project Stardust and not to other projects.....

Emerie's naievete is is startimg to burn her as her logic and empathy run headlong into the reality of the Empire's underbelly.
This episode is so sad 😢we have never seen anything like this before
Where did you get the Lula best friends???
How good the Kevin Kiners score to these episodes. True successor to John Williams.
There are a vast number of clone command codes. I think Emerie will get one that will allow her or someone in the Batch to take control of most, if not all, of the clones on Tantis.

@gehrigstory6674 Yeah, I saw it. I wrote this before he uploaded the reaction.

When Emerie told Nala Se, "I don't have that kind of power", Nala's answer made me think that Emerie might be the force sensitive clone and Omega the perfect M cloning recipient.
