Noticed you've been overly critical of Huff all of last year and starting again this year. Not sure I agree with you on Huff. I think he should get 25 plus minutes this. Most of last his points per minute play was the highest on the team and very high nationally as a Freshman. He should start at the 4. Gregg should be a spark off the bench giving Huff and Icke a break. His best role during his career. Start Battle at 2 and Ayayi ar the 3. Stromer should be used sparingly. Not at all productive. Hickman should be the guard off the bench playing 25 minutes a game
Grand Canyon has also had significant discussions with the PAC-12 that was paused due to the PAC-12 currently in discussions for long term media rights. What do you think the chances are that Grand Canyon comes into the PAC-12 after media rights deals are set in the next few weeks?
Slow start, but hopefully Ben Gregg will do better. He did have a somewhat of a scary fall when Battle landed on him awkwardly in that intense scrimmage in Kraziness in the Kennel day and I wonder if that affected him for this exhibition game that he didn't play many minutes.
This "exhibition" showed us what a bigger school with a lot more $$ can do with NIL...SC poached a decent coach and a bunch of seasoned vets from the portal....welcome to the new "professional" era of college bb....it sucks imo.
The only two that look game ready is Khalifa Battle and Michael Ajayi!!! Team defense is very poor! Huff and Stromer look out of sink offense and defensive! Graham is forcing his shot and missing most of them! Hopefully, Mark Few can turn it around in time?
I was dissapointed with all the bigs. With that said, mostly dissapointed on Gregg. He looked slow and flat footed and he couldn't keep up. Huff is crafty and I think has more upside but needs some major defense help. Ike will get it going. My favorite small ball lineup was Nemby, Hickman, Battle, Ayayi and Ike. We will have defense issues all year, with small guards and no rim protection we will have to play connected and tenacious. With Smith being a small guard we need to bring in a guard with size to offset next year. Fogle could fill the 2-3.
I was impressed with Huffs rebounding this game especially without fouling
