      Well he is a Rotolight ambassador, so yeah he's biased. But I'd say it's still honest as he's just showing stuff and not promising something the gear can do but you can't really see.

    I bougth 2x Aeos and 2x Anova Pro 2, they are phenomenal lights for photo and video. I did got lucky as Adorama was running a sale of 50% off on all the lights when I bought them.

    • @LMActionsports
      @LMActionsports 3 года назад

      Yeah I picked up a neo 2 for $180 from adorama and really liked it but I needed a little more power. So I found a guy in the Rotolight forum who was selling a Aeos with the soft case, barn doors, softbox, v mount battery, and the elichrom trigger $550. I jumped on that. Led lights just improved my photography to a new level to know that no matter what the situation is with lighting. Between my strobes and my Rotolights I can get the job done.

  • @LMActionsports
    @LMActionsports 3 года назад

    Yeah this light isn’t for everyone but it truly is a badass light. Portability is key to me as I am a one man band. I just picked up the Aeos and the neo 2. If I were to get another light I would pick up another Aeos. Even though i use strobe lights for most of my work. I am still like the fact of using led in low light situations. Love your channel and your work.

    great light and great to see a British company pushing the light industry on.... but the prices !!! damn!! just under 4k with vat. and no battery so another 400 - 500 there... £500 for a hard case.... modifier over £700 for what looks like the illuminator with a square hole(yes i know it diffuses but its still the same size, modifiers give us a bigger light source too)..... hopefully at some point they can remember those of us that loved the neo 2 and the Aeos for the fact we could afford it, those of us wanting to get better within our price range, and hopefully they can make a lower spec range for those of us who aspire to be pro's charging enough to justify these lights

      Hi Dave, thanks glad you love the look of the X1, and we definitely continue to push innovation. The launch offer is £2399.99ex (£2879inc). In respect to modifiers, whilst we have them available, for the majority of shooters, you will never require any with the built in electronic diffusion thats included as standard. As per Jason's video, he has not used a modifier with X1 The X1 whilst not cheap, is 36% less expensive than the ARRI Skypanel S30, which features no electronic diffusion, no high speed sync or RGB flash, no touchscreen display, no wireless control, no wDMX or bluetooth. Additionally, Titan X1 is more colour accurate (TLCI 98 vs 90), and more than twice as bright at 5M distance, whilst using less energy to do so. Whilst we appreciate this is a premium light, its features are unrivalled and is compartively very good value for money.

    Sorry but never been a fan of LED lights the light is hard and it is also very uncomfortable for the model to have to put up with burning her eyeballs. As you demonstrated yourself when you turned the brightness up, you eyes looked like dare I say piss holes in the snow. At least standard flash has many advantages a huge range of modifiers more compact to transport no hard light burning your eyes freeze motion if you want. And you can get a lot more equipment for the stupid asking price of the rotolight. And coming from LED sign engineer instalation background I can say that this would be the last bit of kit I would use for portrait photography. If I wanted to use LED lights i would go for the Godox system they give you the best of both worlds You can use them for video work, and if you wanted to use them as a normal strobe light you can, plus a full range of modifiers to accommodate your needs VL150 VL300. and the FV150.

    • @rgreeneish
      @rgreeneish 3 года назад

      With LED you don't burn anyone's eyes out. You turn it down to modeling light levels then it flashes when you take the photo.

    Wonderful technology but it pretty much costs about the same as the Titan X2. In fact the $3k offer for the Titan X2 at its initial release was fantastic.
    Don’t get me wrong but for now I will have to stick with my $800 ANOVA Pro2 lights for Christmas. Hello, B&H!!! I was hoping that a ~$5k Titan 2 would become a $2.5k Titan 1 with an initial release discount that put it around $2k. I guess that I am disappointed that I cannot afford it. However, I think that there will be a lot of photography, videography, and cinematography professionals who will be financially capable of buying this wonderful new technology. Unfortunately, I will be the guy who is going to stay with my existing Rotolights and Monolights because $3k per light is a bridge too far for my budget.
    That doesn’t mean that I cannot appreciate this wonderful equipment but rather that it simply doesn’t work for me from a purely economic sense. Congratulations to Rotolight because I think that they are actually pushing our lighting technology into a new technology paradigm. From my point of view that is a major accomplishment and l suspect that we will see a lot of TV and video studios adapt this technology in the next few years. It is obviously now possible to do things with solid state lighting that we used to think was impossible. Rotolight has forever changed how professional lighting is evaluated.
