Actually , his voice in Warning and American Idiot are pretty much the same .
@@thisiskevin92795 really not, Warning still had that early throaty kinda nasally « stuck » voice and then it opened up with American Idiot and he’s been singing like that since, but he sang lower before American Idiot and he’s been singing higher recently is what I’m saying

It's "epic" sure, perhaps works well for the rock opera they were going for, but not a chaotic punk vibe unless it's a punk band with 50 clones playing guitar

Not only that, also that riff from 0:25 on is Whatsername, the whole song is Whatsername 2.0, especially with that drop tuning, it's great

This proves that Billie Joe's Voice never changed. It was just the different mic, eq, and compression settings.
in the minutes between 0:19 to 0:34, from 1:14 to 1:46 and finally 2:34 to 3:06 I would keep Dilemma's voice (original), it is more similar to Billie's voice in 2004 , and the voice outside the chorus sounds like 2004, I wouldn't change it. Good Job, dude.

I'm torn on things like this. On the one hand, these videos are a cool showcase of the tech that's out there now and certainly your own ability to use these tools well. On the other hand, it creates sort of a confirmation bias that could unfairly influence one's opinion about the material in its original form.
I just don't want us to lose the ability to appreciate artists for what they give us. They deserve that respect whether we like the result or not, and part of me believes that the current trend to take new music and "fix it" by making it sound like something they did when they were younger could be insulting to them.
Didn't expect to see one of my favourite rock bands commenting here but yeah while I do think this does cause a confirmation bias.
I think this was meant not as a "fix-it" or a "showcase of skills" but rather an appreciation for the band regardless of the era. (besides the real point of these videos is to show what some songs would be like if they were released at a different time and that's pretty cool!)
And no worries, we do appreciate the original songs and we will still listen to them because after all, that's what the band decided should be the final result after all.
These are just meant to be fun videos and anyone who thinks these videos are infinitely better than the originals really shouldn't think so, sure some people might prefer the sound of these but they will still continue to support the band by listening to the originals, these are just a cool what-if, that's all.

I do not like Taylor Swift. Therefore, any new material she comes out with you will not be seeing me listening to in any style across any of her discography. I liked Dilemma, and yes, I love American Idiot. But I liked Dilemma to the point I played it twice in the same sitting before I even found this video. Was that predetermined, in accordance with the *philosophical concept of hard determinism?* Maybe, perhaps. Who knows? But there was no *confirmation bias* there, you pretentious prick. Really great. Listened many times and liked it. However, does anyone else feel that Billie's voice doesn't have enough "umph" in the chorus? 1:14 It just sounds like he's not screaming it enough, and he is struggling to sing it with passion (until the last syllable when we go into the bridge, that is). Same for 1:56
