The events of the film take us to the 20th century and introduce us to a man named Edrek. He lost his parents early, survived the Gulag and witnessed the most terrible events. However, all this did not prevent him from becoming a brave man, ready to make any sacrifice for the sake of truth and justice. One day, the main character crosses the border and finds himself in Italy. Here, resistance fighters appear before him, preparing for another battle. Seeing no other way out, Edrek joins the allies. At the same time, he introduces the fighter to a beautiful nurse named Pola. She treats wounded soldiers every day and gives the impression of a kind person. The young people fall in love with each other with all their hearts and vow that one day they will definitely get married and start a family. But first, they will have to overcome many obstacles and face all the horrors of war
