1v1 me in Tales of Tribute bro But no, fr, have you had a chance to play this new card game yet? What do you think? Edit: The order of which you place your combos (cards of the same suit) does not actually matter, unlike what was suggested in this video. Thank you sorakasexual for the correction!
hey arttea! im your biggest fan ;) im just kidding haha but for real itd be the COOLEST thing if you added me on PC/NA my user name is creatingmysteria! i was trying to join the TTS guild but i couldnt find it on the finder? hope youre well! keep rocking the videos !
I went in very sceptical as I fell asleep during the preview of this game. I ended up playing it for a few hours and was pleasantly surprised it was much better than they made it look/sound, and I can see myself playing a game or two while I wait for my raid group to gather up, or when I am up at a weird hour and my friendliest is sleeping. I do wish it was more ESO thematic, and by that I mean, that the cards were with well-known NPCs, the decks were either zone themed or class themed, and we could get Sotha Sil or M'aiq the Liar as our ally, make combos with skills from necro skill lines or something. I know the cards are related to Elder Scrolls lore and I do like the art itself, but it would have been so much more fun to see our (least) favourite dungeon and trial monsters on these decks.
My knee jerk reaction when it was announced was very much along the lines of wtf and the reveal just bewildered me (I was really hoping for a water class). But as you say, don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. Having another social component to the game is definitely a plus.
Something like spellcrafting/1h and spell would have been wicked! Something more water-based would also be neat, given the fact that this chapter has so many ties with sea-faring activities, and maybe even maormer? But yes, at least we got a little something to tide us over while they work on performance fixes 🙏
I share the same view on this game, not exactly what I wanted from this DLC, but don't knock it till you try it. I could see myself jumping into a guildie discord chat and chillin over a game of ToT, after running some more stressful content like Vet dungeons or trials.
I've been wanting ZOS to do a official companion app for ESO, similar to Fifa Ultimate Team, where you can micromanage, trade, edit builds and what not. I feel like ToT would be better received by the community if it was on mobile and was part of a bigger system(companion app) or like you said wasn't the chapter selling feature.
Great video as always. It seems like people are warming up to it now that they've played it. I know its still not the content a lot of people wanted but I'm still excited for it 🤷♂️
I think the devs adding new companions, new mythics, new scries, etc etc is enough new content for me to be satisfied. I am holding out hope that zos will do what they said they will do at the beginning of this year; that being taking a break from more intensive projects and taking the year to stabilize the game and get some much needed normalcy back post-pandemic. It's probably a situation where they will come strong NEXT year and i really hope that they take this time to stabilize the game and update their technology and interfaces, like they said they would.
I definitely agree - no amount of new content would appease me the way it would if I could cast my skills in Cyrodiil, and if that kind of performance improvement is something that is birthed out of this year's work and development on the game, then it will all be absolutely worthwhile in my opinion. That being said, I played during the "Year of the Dragon" year-long adventure, and I recall that around this time, the devs were suggesting that it was also the "year of performance improvements"; they created a road map for the entire year's worth of performance updates. Unfortunately, a lot of people did not feel as if they delivered on their promises given the state of the game's performance. I worry that a similar situation may occur here, but I am remaining optimistic!
Haha I'm exactly on the same boat, I'm still hanging on that idea of them trying to regularise their business this year and hopefully they also get good results from the servers upgrades and code overhaul they published past months. Because this year the mmo market has been pretty active and then seeing what eso is having for main chapter feature this year is actually disappointing, especially when the new maps looks really beautiful and personally I'm still waiting for zos surprising us with some gameplay evolution like in other mmos.
They've said the same thing every year so I wouldn't expect much. "Year of performance" they keep saying. New servers. Things are happening behind the scenes. Well.. how long can we continue to accept that same excuse. 3 years of casual based mechanics is way too long. This is an MMORPG, it should improve upon what we came here to do and what makes ESO different from other MMO's. Time and time again, MMO's that focus on casual content like farming and companions, fail to deliver and ultimately dissapoint. At least the card game is soial, but it needs a ton of work. As Arttea put it, the first thing I noticed was bad animations, clunky slow UI, no pizaz in terms of characters or sound design. It's very dull.. but somewhat addictive. I'll play it, but it needs a lot of work.
If ZoS really wants to make this interesting, they would make a game app that connects to your account. That way when you’re away from the main game you can make some progress in the main game.
It definitely would be really neat if you could somehow play ToT on a mobile device against players that were in game! I suppose you could if you play on stadia!
I was already in college when MTG came out let alone pokemon cards. (yeah i'm aging myself out). My type of card games are blackjack and texas holdem with friends and UNO with my niece and nephew. Every time I have this card game even you explaining this game, my eyes just glaze over. i may try it but it looks like I doubt it.
I used to play a lot of Magic the Gathering so I am some what hopeful, despite my initial disappointment. I will definitely try it, but probably enjoy exploring the new zone better.
I like this a lot honestly I was super excited when they announced another non combat thing to do and tot is actually pretty decent so far. It started very rough though, it took me having to go thru the tutorial and losing three matches to the npcs before I really figured out what I was doing. I wish there were more cards to collect or more decks though The pool of cards seems pretty limited. I’d also have liked if they included something else in the area to; like a jousting mini game or something, the card game on its own isn’t enough of a flagship addition truthfully but I still like the expansion
I'm really looking forward to the card game! I always thought ESO could need some sort of minigame. The only thing we have is antiquities and those get old very fast.
Honestly, neither my little brain has the energy to comprehend the game neither it is really attracted to it, doubt I ever get into it. I am more impressed how you are running shaders in PTS :O
Thanks for the great review! I probably will treat the game like fishing - totally avoiding unless needed for an event or quest. I'm not a big card game player, but respect ZOS for trying something new. Im very excited for the new area and story line
I’ll be honest - I was also quite surprised they would focus on a CCG as an expansion, but then I realized that they could outsource this entire component to reduce the burden on the already-stretched core dev team. Particularly where balance changes are needed in BOTH the CCG and game. But from what I’ve seen, the game seems fairly robust, and as a former competitive TCG player, I’m really interested. I’m really jazzed about it. In fact, my biggest concern is that I have to fire up the PS to play a card game - that’s not the interface I would expect. This might port nicely to mobile, and I would love to have your progress on a mobile app connect with your ESO account - something like Mass Effect Apex HQ? Nonetheless, thanks for the honest and comprehensive review!
Great video presentation. I have zero patience for their type of rng. Looking forward to the new zone, but definitely not TOTs. Thanks for the preview.
Amazing video! I’ve also been a bit disappointed that this game is the cornerstone of the new chapter.. I was really looking forward to a new class and a new solo arena since it’s been so long since we have gotten a solo arena
It seems we're getting less and less with each chapter but the price isn't going down. It really bums me out. I think not adding a new class or skill line was a smart move, but we could have gotten MANY improvements that we could at least associate with the chapter. Animation improvements for example.
I like it ToT as a thing to break my boredom, I don't play the game (ToT) all the time. But when I do my dailies and grind for gear and gold. I sometimes hop on the card game to help pass some time. Edit: one thing that is exciting is that one of my guilds is trying to make a guild tournament for ToT
Oooh nice; I organized a ToT tourney with OldSaltySean and PinkApple (some stellar creators that have made excellent videos about ToT) for my guild a few months ago and it was an absolute blast! You have a lot to look forward to!
I actually find it quite interesting and from a traders perspective, the loot is insane even in loosing. Because even the loosing chest has 10 normal or 5 housing mats. I got enough jewlery mats to get 6 chromium grains + all the other stuff. All in around 6-7 hours.
Does that make those of us who may enjoy this part of eso as “TATER-TOTs”!? Edit: hit send too quickly, 🤪 but another great video. Your sentiment on it being a casual thing some may enjoy is pretty close to what I expected, and since I like TCGs I know I will being participating in guild events as well as random matches. Keep up the good work kiddo! 😎👍🕊💛
I'll wait for the next DLC, I'm not going to buy High Isle. I want to be excited for TOT but I can't😓. I'm not paying $40 for card game in a chatper DLC. Good Vid as always Arttea. 👍
Very fair - admittedly, it was tough for me to justify my purchase as well, but I am interested in exploring the new zone, so that was ultimately the selling point for me - not the card game :') And thank you!
The idea of a card game sounds neat for light hearted content but this has been the first expansion I've not pre-ordered since playing in morrowind. The various ongoing issues plaguing the game over the years has rubbed away a lot of the luster the game once had
I have the impression that there are a lot of players that share a similar sentiment as the one you've expressed here - that this is the *first* expansion that they are not interested in pre-ordering. Given the fact that this card game is the defining feature, I can definitely see where these players are coming from. If it weren't for the beautiful new zone and my interest in running daily content there as well as reviewing the main storyline for it, I likely wouldn't have purchased it myself.
cant wait to try this out i did like excavating traveling all around to location on the map the you wouldn't normally go just once you don't that once these is really no reason to lvl excavating/scrying hope the card game has long term fun and not something you just do for a dailies quest. I'm a big fan of MGT and hearthstone but those game really don't hold my attention span well feel like a card game doesn't really fit in an mmo but that could just be my opinion
Deck building card game was the best choice for this imo but also makes it less important for players to hunt for better cards because you're sharing both decks from you and your opponent. If you're playing a game like MtG or Pokemon players spend more time refining and caring for their decks because its a more personal strategy so if the long term game for ZOS was to make players spend time gathering more/better cards i dont see it working very well but if the plan was to just make players login and have some fun or kill some time with friends/guildies while not doing raids or dungeons or any other activity this could be big.
I do like deck builders, but I don't see the point of building a collection of cards in this format. I might actually enjoy this style of game better then any tcg they could come up with, but at least if you had to build your deck like a tcg there would be a desire to play more to unlock more cards. Idk I'm kinda torn on it
It still just doesn't make sense to me why this is the main feature... Sure a card game in ESO is kind of a fun idea but it hasn't been executed well. Caravan in FalloutNV was way more fun and way less complicated xD ... Still unsure when I am going to come back =/ I love ESO but the state of the game really drove me to play other things... I'm still subbed.... I should probably change that tbh... I'm just such a TES fan and I have enjoy ESO so so so much... I love this game... The server performance is such poo poo and the current PVP looks like something I'd prefer to wait out than play. I'm probably going to touch and go at some point in this year after I finish up the story content I have left in swtor, guildwars2, and ff14... but if their server re-architecture they mentioned they are working on gets delayed and/or doesn't work... I'm probably going to make the tough decision of putting ESO down permanently ='(
It is certainly a tough time to play right now. I'm the same way - I love the Elder Scrolls universe and I have invested a lot of time into ESO. I've met some of my best friends through the game! I also create video content about it, so the thought of putting ESO down for good is something that just seems impossible at the moment. At the same time, I am enduring some really game-breaking issues that make playing a lot less enjoyable than it used to be. Here's to hoping that we can see some performance improvements soon so that we can all get back to playing the game we know and love 🙏
@@Arttea Yes Yes! This current state of ESO is killing my erp and I just had to take my weeb booty from Elsweyr to elsewere 🤣 jk - anyways I'll always stay subbed and watching your content and ESO content in general... I'll never not have an eye on ESO ... it's just ESO and I are in a rough spot right now :p
My first day on the pts I didn't realize that they put the invite to ToT where the duel prompt had been so I spent like 5 minutes inviting people to ToT and not realizing what i was doing lmao. I never did the tutorial on it so it was pretty funny just playing cards without understanding the objective.
I absolutely love ToT and find it's components to be masterfully designed. I strongly disagree with your friend that mechanics were chosen just for the sake of being different. It honestly feels like a light version of Dominion. If you're into deck builders, you'll know this isn't exactly anything new but it's still a lot of fun with very satisfying strategic flexibility.
I was considering returning to eso after quitting new world, but this reminded me why I quit eso in the first place. New dungeons and zones are ok, but I want new and refreshing ways to play the game. New interesting battlegrounds (like alterac valley from wow), new weapons, new classes, new game mechanics(even replace old and dated ones) and in general new skill lines to grind. Even introducing something simple like a currency you only get from veteran/hardcore dungeons, that can be spent on unique current chapter tier equipment would make me happily grind dungeons for a long time.
Thank you for explaining! It's just I did not sign up for eso to play cards. They would have done themselves a favor by adding classes and skills. In the end the developers control the creation. They chose a different path. I'll just move on, as it's going in a direction the doesn't peak my interest. I loved fallout.. just not 76 as it dried up content. I love Elder scrolls, just not eso as it too has become just repeat rinse.
Thanks for this - Well done (again)! Could you please... Make a guide of How to install and (start to use) the PTS software? Or what it looks like when you get there. And building a quick PTS character to play on the PTS. Thanks for your wonderful videos!
You just open the game launcher, find "show Public Test Server" in the settings and download it as a separate game. Nothing different from installing the base game itself.
When you finish downloading, choose create a character (or choose yours that you are already playing on live server). Benefit of making a new one on pts is that you can choose your level and starting location in the left corner on the character creation screen. Thats it I think, and there is plenty of info about this out there online
@@Sorakasexual_ Thanks for the help! It's both sad and funny that I could not even see the letters for the PTS as they are grey and dim and the UI is so tiny that at 6 feet I cannot see it - it took a ticket and 5-6 days to figure that out! OMG. I was the nut behind the KB! I hope they at lease change the color of the text! Thanks again for the advice!
Nice fair review. I completely agree I don't think anyone was asking for this 🤣 I do hope people enjoy it so its not a waste. But for me who's favorite part of this game is pvp and soloing world bsses and things like the oblivion portals, Its kind of frustrating. As much as I agree don't knock it till you try it, I don't log on to a mmo full of character creation, choice of races, outfit creation, build creation and a variety of fantasy open world areas to go do really cool things..... to play a card game. I'm so concerned the devs have ran out of ideas but I'm more concerned the problems with the game that could do with fixing have been ignored. Some have been there for years. Makes be really struggle to have confidence in them. But back to the card game 🤣. I personally have no interest in this and probably won't play it unless they plant a lead in the card game 🤣 hope it good for everyone that plays it, but for me I'm going to continue the parts of this game that's kept me playing for 7 long years 👍
Ty for the card game review UwU 0/12 of my close friends are getting the new chapter because it has nothing exciting for the amount of money they are asking for.... sooo I'm not buying it too . I prefer to play older content instead
I'm actually surprised that I like it. It's simple, but can bite you in the behind if you lose concentration. And the fact I keep winning in PvP duels? Fights? Whatever. My only gripe is that they can get a little long winded. I think switching the Prestige points from 40 to 30 or 20 would be better. But it's all fine.
I've played a few matches, mostly against NPCs and once against another player. It actually seems kind of fun, but... uh... I'm having a hard time reading a lot of the text on the screen, and I haven't been able to find a way to increase the UI scaling. So I don't know what's going on a lot of the time. -_-
Sorry, I skipped to the end. Could not find an answer to the burning question: Can you make gold paying Tales of Tribute? Does the card game integrate in any way with other game features? For example does it give you housing items? An XP boost? An AP boost? Anything?
You can receive materials from winning matches, but I would not consider tot to be a prominent gold-making method because of how long each match lasts. As I mentioned at the end of the video, the mats that you get for winning a match are a nice bonus that you can get if you plan on playing tot anyways, but it’s not an efficient means to make gold, especially compared to the other methods discussed on this channel. At the moment, there are no AP or XP related rewards associated with the game.
@@Arttea Thank you! Well that sounds like ToT is basically not integrated with the rest of the game which, for me, begs the question: Why does it exist? Even something like housing exists, partially, to show off your achievements, as the end goal for farming activities, and as a gold sink for the economy.
I think ToT could be a surprise success after they improve and polish it. Greymoor and Blackwood had the allure of being recreations of other games. This year there isn't that expectation of seeing Skyrim or Oblivion again so there's not much to hype up the expansion. Only hardcore fans really care that they get to see more of Breton history and location. I feel they should have been ready with something really engaging. I guess something happened that they have fallen a little short this year
Nice allround review, but i just bought everything BUT High Isle...and now i find out that they added a card game in the new DLC -.- p.s. can i know what reshade are you using? edit: nevermind i just found out that reshade is the last "credit" in your video description :D
I absolutely LOVE this card game (that I haven’t even played) for no other reason than everyone and their grandmother (who hasn’t played it either) won’t stop bitching their heads off about it. I sincerely hope ZOS goes all “Mythic Quest” and adds a shovel and a dinner party to the fucking game too.
Unfortunately, seeing the guides and the complexity of the game makes me even less excited for the card game. The game seems quite a lot more complicated than my normal board games that I like. Edit: catan is amazing. Absolutely love that game, especially the social aspect of it when sitting around a table with catan obsessed frenemies like mine
@@Arttea we played 7 games in one day one time. Lots of cussing. Lots of robbers. Lots of screwing each other over 😂😂 all in college, all of it a blast 😂 half the time we made alliances just to make sure someone didnt win 🤣🤣
It´s nice addition, without doubt - but I will be a bit nitpicky and I would also rather see new class, skill line or some other nice addition or mechanics. I will grab this DLC after few patches, though. Even now the ping is annoyingly high while around other ppl.
Unfortunately, my loading/rendering issues continue to persist. It just makes it *that* much more time-consuming to create these videos now that I have to spend so much time waiting in load screens, but I'm trying to keep at it! Fortunately, my performance on the PTS was better than that on the live server, which made the filming process for this video a lot more feasible.
I'd still prefer a Questline were you join the Chess Club and play Chess with NPC's and other Players. Maybe even introduce more Games like Yatzee, Rummy, Checkers or even Uno.
I might have missed this part in the video, but how does this card game even tie in with the RPG aspect of ESO?? Like... do you get special gear for winning or participating? Does it unlock anything useful for questing/combat? Do you at least get emotes or titles or anything? Or is it literally just a card game with no tie-ins?
My understanding is that by advancing in the ToT questline, you can unlock some collectibles, as well as a title. If you win matches, you can receive valuable materials as well.
@@Arttea Hmmmmm, ok... thanks for the reply! I think we're kinda on the same page when I say I just wanna play ESO - The Game and not a subgame within the game. I might try it out, but I'm not overwhelmingly excited about it lol
@@cgsweat I absolutely agree with you there! I would have loved to have seen something that refreshes or changes the ways we already play the game, rather than adding a new and somewhat underwhelming minigame. Ah well :')
I understand nothing but this is normal lol i am absolutely braindead when it comes to cardgames 😅😅😅 Anything more complicated then UNO my braun gets bruuuhhh i am Out xD But Game Looks nicer then expected. And you explanation was really good, even when my brain Shot down 😅 thx 😘
their biggest mistake is not implementing something card related as a feature for the main eso combat. like a card or deck you can equip that has passive effects.. or a card you can summon in combat that appears as a hologram. they could've added a slot in your character equipment menu and encourage players to play TOT to power up or level a certain card or deck for your build. that way non casual players have something to be excited about. there are many interesting ideas to make this more engaging as an mmo feature. imagine cards dropping from every single enemy or npc under a certain rate, but the card is always connected to their ID. so there could be a skeever card, a peasant beggar card, a trial or dungeon boss card, etc. and each unique card has different attributes that buff or debuff your character when you wear it. put a special filter over the card's 3d model character when you summon it in battle and you have yourself a personalized new gameplay feature for everyone to enjoy. and the only way to level that card is to play tales matches. it becomes pokemon/yu-gi-oh in eso with catching, training and summoning them all. endless possibilities of me dreaming.
That would be interesting! It would be really cool if TOT could be integrated with or relevant to the core mechanics of everyday gameplay, so that everyone has a reason to be interested in it. This would fall more in line with the new gameplay features of previous chapters and how their implementation fundamentally changed the way that the game is played. I really like the idea of collecting cards by defeating enemies!
I had zero interest in this card game. Honestly I don’t play eso for card games. Thank you for taken the time to make a video on this because it reinforces my decision of not buying this chapter. Im really disappointed that this is what we have for the next year.
Neither do I; so I see where you're coming from. Fortunately, there's enough other content that comes with the chapter (primarily, the new zones themselves) that can tide me over and justify my purchase, but I wasn't loving the flagship feature for this chapter the way I have loved the game-changing additions of the previous chapters :'(
I'll give it a try but IRL I never liked deck building card games where you have coin cards and slowly build your deck by purchasing from a community of cards and you shuffle over and over.
How's your gaming going, have you rectified the issues you where having playing ESO. I hope the game is actually working for you these days and you are having fun again. Question is your guild still running a trader. I ask this as recently I have left my trading guild and have been looking for a new one. If so I will leave a message in Discord for a guild invite. Thank you and have fun.
Unfortunately, my loading/rendering issues continue to persist. It just means that it takes me that much longer to get into the game and port around to film things, which is incredibly frustrating as I barely have enough time to make these videos as it is :') But yes, our guild and trader are still fully functional! You are absolutely more than welcome to join - just drop your @ name in our #invite-pls channel (after assigning yourself the guildie role in #role-assign) and an officer will toss you an invite at their earliest convenience!
If you win a match, you can receive a handful of materials, among other things - I showcased a few examples of what you can find inside these coffers at the end of the video. :)
If I remember correctly, I read in an article somewhere that advancing the storyline for the Tales of Tribute game rewards you with collectibles such as a pet, among other things. The rewards that you receive from winning a match include valuable alchemy and furnishing materials (I even got dragon materials)!
Not gonna lie, I haven't played eso in about a year and this is definitely gonna bring me back at least to try it for a bit. Tcg and especially strategy games are my go to. So yeah, sorry eso fans. "Why are they adding a card game to eso!?!?" Probably to rope in people like me. Fuck it- just add a completely different minigame to eso for to attract a completely new demographic. Also- like how there are duelling hotspots where people gather to fight, I really look forward to the image of a bunch of players crowding into a tavern looking for people to play against.
Yeah fair play! I'm glad to hear that there are people that will return to this game in light of this card game. That's great news, considering that all that I've been hearing is that people are going to LEAVE ESO in light of this card game haha, so the opposite has been refreshing to hear. You know, I thought that that sight would be neat as well, but unfortunately (on the PTS anyways), whenever you engage in a ToT duel with another player, both players are removed from the instance - so other people can not see you. This means that a tavern full of ToT players can not actually be observed by other players, but maybe this will get changed by the time the game goes live.
Why do you get rewarded with such nice mats and stuff for playing some ****** card game and for PvP activities like bg's, board quests in Cyrodiil or IC you get...loike nothing? Imagine you get these kind of rewards in PvP (excluding the big daily special board quests like capture 3 keeps, 9 resources or all Cyrodiil towns). That would be great!
Honestly, I agree. I personally find that the amount of AP that you get from those little "kill x players" quests to be a little lackluster. That would be pretty amazing if the devs ever considered updating those rewards to be more in line with the kinds of rewards that we can receive from completing other daily and/or repeatable tasks in ESO!
If I'm looking to wind down after doing something "challenging" in ESO then I'll play a real card game in a different window or monitor so I'm still able to do random crap in ESO like check my trader or look for good deals on various traders...
Ive played a few games. Mostly when i take a break to eat. Or at the end of the night while im winding down from playimg and getting ready to log off. Only thing i can figure is they wanna give noobs amd bad players better or easier access to certain rewards.
Got brunt out from ESO about a year ago. Was hoping the new content would bring me back… it will not. I’ve seen feature bloat all too often. “New Stuff!” is easier to work on and often advertise as opposed to hammering out the old issues. Note that’s not me calling any of the dev team “lazy” because they’re no doubt busting their asses but it’s just the reality of tech debt. *Insert depressed cat .png here
as a brand new player eso seems really hard to get in to. the card game at least didn't kill me. i'm more here to have fun so all the complexity seems a little daunting
Tales of Tribute has a lot less in common with the other online card games (Legends, Gwent, Hearthstone, Runeterra) and more with a game called Dominion, which is a fairly established proven formula.
Soon enough, players will figure out how to optimize decks to trade wins as fast as possible, assuming you get rewards from just straight up challenging someone. Chances are you will also start to see the same deck or two being played on both sides in ranked, making degenerate into pure rng quite quickly. Honestly, it just feels like they're stalling, both content and player time, away from combat while they revamp the architecture.
Well, It's not Gwent but I suppose it will do. Granted I've never played the full independent version of Gwent but the version in the Witcher 3 is my absolute favorite 'side game' activity of all time. ToT looks like it's a bit too complicated for its own good and relies a bit too much on RNG so I could forsee games lasting far longer than they needed to be, but that's just my own 2 cents.
Totally agree. They couldve just put in more QOL improvements instead of new content. Stuff people ask for for years now but they gave us ToT. Moreover you can bet they will monetize ToT within a few updates.
Even if they just added a few more QoL changes *with* the addition of ToT, that wouldn't be half bad! Here's to hoping that we can see some more performance updates soon 🙏

They're probably saving the big ones for future releases.

Very neat review 👌👍very satisfying audio too 👌
I can't wait I've heard the bonus cards will be awesome. Like the NO LAG patreon card And most anticipated the TAKE FLIGHT working patreon card.
I hope there is an "Incap working for vamps" card in there as well 🙏
If ZoS really wants to make this interesting, they would make a game app that connects to your account.
I like this a lot honestly
I was super excited when they announced another non combat thing to do and tot is actually pretty decent so far. It started very rough though, it took me having to go thru the tutorial and losing three matches to the npcs before I really figured out what I was doing.
I wish there were more cards to collect or more decks though
The pool of cards seems pretty limited.
"parallelogram" thank you for sparing us the ear worm 😂🖤
This was the best ToT tutorial I’ve watched. Others were quite hard to follow
I love Deckbuilding Games IRL so I'm really looking forward to this one. Furthermore I like that it adds a new social component to the game :)
I actually find it quite interesting and from a traders perspective, the loot is insane even in loosing. Because even the loosing chest has 10 normal or 5 housing mats. I got enough jewlery mats to get 6 chromium grains + all the other stuff. All in around 6-7 hours.
6 chromium grains in 7 hrs. Wtf. You could get that in 25 mins doing your daily crafting
I didnt wanna play gwent in the witcher 3 at first but once i did that's all I wanted to do. Hoping this will be as good as that card game
Her videos rock. So cinematic.
@@Arttea that might be the reason I do end up buying it. Seeing friends posting pics of the new zone and such will get the best of my curiosity lol
cant wait to try this out i did like excavating traveling all around to location on the map the you wouldn't normally go just once you don't that once these is really no reason to lvl excavating/scrying hope the card game has long term fun and not something you just do for a dailies quest.
This current state of ESO is killing my erp and I just had to take my weeb booty from Elsweyr to elsewere 🤣
jk - anyways I'll always stay subbed and watching your content and ESO content in general... I'll never not have an eye on ESO ... it's just ESO and I are in a rough spot right now :p
really good informative video. Thank you
Thank you; happy to help! :)
I was really excited (I love gwent and that's what it initially sounded like to me)
Now, though, I'm extremely blehhhhh about it.
I am honestly addicted. JUst got the expansion and spent 8 hours just playing tot
I do wish the rewards were better for ranked
This video deserves a like 👍
My first day on the pts I didn't realize that they put the invite to ToT where the duel prompt had been so I spent like 5 minutes inviting people to ToT and not realizing what i was doing lmao. I never did the tutorial on it so it was pretty funny just playing cards without understanding the objective.
Lmaooo yeah Drakar told me about how you were accidentally inviting him!
It's just a matter of time until some comes up with a lazy crafter plug in that rushes through this "game" lol
SILENCE ROLE PLAYER CARD GAME BAD!!!! JK thanks for the info, and love your subtle dry humor
For me, if I wanted to play a card game I would play a card game... That's not why I play ESO!
I've played a few matches, mostly against NPCs and once against another player. It actually seems kind of fun, but... uh...
I'm having a hard time reading a lot of the text on the screen, and I haven't been able to find a way to increase the UI scaling. So I don't know what's going on a lot of the time. -_-
Are you running a shader pack? graphics look great.
From PvP perspective there could be some league/ranking system for PvP duels - it coud be easy for 1:1 match and PvP could have some to do...
I absolutely LOVE this card game (that I haven’t even played) for no other reason than everyone and their grandmother (who hasn’t played it either) won’t stop bitching their heads off about it. I sincerely hope ZOS goes all “Mythic Quest” and adds a shovel and a dinner party to the fucking game too.
mmm delicious copypasta
"Silence role player, card game is bad!".... j/k..... great video... first time viewer , first time subscriber!
Haha welcome to the channel 😄
Its disappointing we aren't getting something like a new class, new weapons, new crafting, or new pvp but guess we gotta make the best of it!
If I wanted to play a card game online I would be playing Magic Arena. But there is a reason I play paper magic instead of it online.
Haha I can only imagine how that kind of dynamic would affect a game of Catan, especially when you try to trade resources!
@@Arttea we played 7 games in one day one time. Lots of cussing. Lots of robbers. Lots of screwing each other over 😂😂 all in college, all of it a blast 😂 half the time we made alliances just to make sure someone didnt win 🤣🤣
i kinda like the game. figure it will like it better as i understand it better.
It´s nice addition, without doubt - but I will be a bit nitpicky and I would also rather see new class, skill line or some other nice addition or mechanics.
I will grab this DLC after few patches, though. Even now the ping is annoyingly high while around other ppl.
my brain isn't big enough for this
@Arttea Catan was one of my fav as a kid and I enjoyed it on xbox 360 I wish they would bring it to xb1 or xbsx.
So the questions now are: is it a hot tot? Or a tot that needs longer to defrost? Or do they even know how to make tots?
The tot definitely needs some more time in the oven, that's for sure 😅
any news on connectivity and performance issues? can you play now consistently ?
Unfortunately, my loading/rendering issues continue to persist. It just makes it *that* much more time-consuming to create these videos now that I have to spend so much time waiting in load screens, but I'm trying to keep at it! Fortunately, my performance on the PTS was better than that on the live server, which made the filming process for this video a lot more feasible.
you HAVE to try the catan card game
Ah well :')
I understand nothing but this is normal lol i am absolutely braindead when it comes to cardgames 😅😅😅 Anything more complicated then UNO my braun gets bruuuhhh i am Out xD
But Game Looks nicer then expected. And you explanation was really good, even when my brain Shot down 😅 thx 😘
what is a bewilderment card?
I didn't understand rajhin's skill

That is the bow from the Domihaus monster arms pack! A crown-store exclusive style

I am using royale reshade!

@@Arttea Thank you! I'm an avid screenshot taker so been testing some reshades :P
their biggest mistake is not implementing something card related as a feature for the main eso combat. like a card or deck you can equip that has passive effects.. or a card you can summon in combat that appears as a hologram. they could've added a slot in your character equipment menu and encourage players to play TOT to power up or level a certain card or deck for your build. that way non casual players have something to be excited about. there are many interesting ideas to make this more engaging as an mmo feature. imagine cards dropping from every single enemy or npc under a certain rate, but the card is always connected to their ID. so there could be a skeever card, a peasant beggar card, a trial or dungeon boss card, etc. and each unique card has different attributes that buff or debuff your character when you wear it. put a special filter over the card's 3d model character when you summon it in battle and you have yourself a personalized new gameplay feature for everyone to enjoy. and the only way to level that card is to play tales matches. it becomes pokemon/yu-gi-oh in eso with catching, training and summoning them all. endless possibilities of me dreaming.
It just means that it takes me that much longer to get into the game and port around to film things, which is incredibly frustrating as I barely have enough time to make these videos as it is :')
But yes, our guild and trader are still fully functional! You are absolutely more than welcome to join - just drop your @ name in our #invite-pls channel (after assigning yourself the guildie role in #role-assign) and an officer will toss you an invite at their earliest convenience!
Is there a reward for playing tot? Do you get gold or motifs or leads or anything? I guess I could play it while I wait in que or something
If you win a match, you can receive a handful of materials, among other things - I showcased a few examples of what you can find inside these coffers at the end of the video. :)
@@Arttea sorry, I almost made it that far in!
What the motive to play "tots"? Mounts, motifs, gold, wtits, items or mats? What the winner gets?
If I remember correctly, I read in an article somewhere that advancing the storyline for the Tales of Tribute game rewards you with collectibles such as a pet, among other things. The rewards that you receive from winning a match include valuable alchemy and furnishing materials (I even got dragon materials)!
@@Arttea That's good to hear. Thank you!
Nice.
I SUMMON EXODIA!!!
If it is possible to refine the cards as in FFVIII to gain materials among other rare items it would be very good ahh what I'm saying is just a dream
If I'm looking to wind down after doing something "challenging" in ESO then I'll play a real card game in a different window or monitor so I'm still able to do random crap in ESO like check my trader or look for good deals on various traders...
does any one know how to upgrade cards
Ive played a few games. Mostly when i take a break to eat. Or at the end of the night while im winding down from playimg and getting ready to log off. Only thing i can figure is they wanna give noobs amd bad players better or easier access to certain rewards.
what armor set does she have on?
I made it to 7.52 🤯
nICE.
*Insert depressed cat .png here
It's bad. But at least its better than the companions and the antiquities because it has a social aspect which is kinda the reason we play mmos
Amen, I do appreciate the fact that it will introduce some new casual and social gameplay to ESO
Gwent 👌
as a brand new player eso seems really hard to get in to. the card game at least didn't kill me. i'm more here to have fun so all the complexity seems a little daunting
Tales of Tribute has a lot less in common with the other online card games (Legends, Gwent, Hearthstone, Runeterra) and more with a game called Dominion, which is a fairly established proven formula.
Yes, I came to understand that this is more of a "deck building" game than a combat one; a ccg instead of a tcg.

Even if they just added a few more QoL changes *with* the addition of ToT, that wouldn't be half bad! Here's to hoping that we can see some more performance updates soon 🙏
