The Blackfeather Journey is designed and made by Joe Hunnicutt of Blackfeather Knives. He named it after his Daughter so you know it has to be a special design to him. After a mere 6 hours worth of use, my initial impression is that it is an excellent knife; in fact, it is an evolution or a game changing design in the world of smaller companion or EDC sized blades. The full review will be in about 3 or 4 weeks from now. I hope you enjoy!

I am also impressed. High performance in a small knife. And man that ferro rod you use is a lighting bolt.

Away Heah John, See this Journey has a finger choils that slightly raises the blade, just like on my Blind Horse Bushcrafter, For a straight edge, its works wood pretty good. Infact that's why I asked for a continuous curve on my 3V Skookum Bush Tool, and its one of my Favorite. Wood Craft Knives.,,.

It Looked like it did a great job Joe. The thing that hit me first was that for its length it looked really beefy. I like a good mid sized knife but one strong enough for the task. This looks like it fits the bill

Say Heah John, That Journey looks like a great type of knife carried as a neck carry, Not just a neck knife. But instead of bekt carry, carry it neck Cary and still use a basic trio. Thanx You for sharing it.,,.

Have been interested in some of his knives....with the woodsman being top of the list....but unfortunately after weeks of unanswered emails, and unanswered phone calls, i gave up. Have a William Collins knife coming now...and will otherwise stick with LT Wright. Disappointed as i think the woodsman is probably the closest knife i have seen that comes close to perfect for what i was looking for. Bummer that he is completely unavailable for contact.
