- 5 Songs Rap Fans Should Be Ashamed Of. In this video I decided to come at the necks of the older generation. Because there are many ridiculous songs that came out "back in the day" that older people SWEAR are bops, and they be the main ones complaining that music from new school artists are trash.
So if you're an older person that loves to complain about new school rap, I don't want to hear you complain if you enjoyed any of the 5 songs in this video.

Would love to see you make a list of the worst flex songs by rappers there are a lot of bad rap songs of rappers sharing really mediocre flex brag lines that I wish you can talk about
@@electricdancer0652 playboi Carti almost ruined off grid ,nigga was just yelling in the background
Lemme just say this. I'm 41 n around this time even tho we were young we sounded old because sooo much trash rap started 2 come out @ this time. Most of us stopped listening 2 the radio n went underground. I was on Scarface,Devin n UGK hard. W/that being said I hated that f#cking Laffy taffy song w/a passion. Until 1 day I caught myself n the car yelling out "candy girl" n I went #oh f#ck no# 2 myown self. Now ima admit it, Now I f#cking love that song. Oh well it is what it is lls
Bro are you serious? These new rappers can’t even put a coherent sentence together
@@honeymustard8002exactly, over time you would gradually like songs here and there
He literally picked every song we said were wack during our generation
To justify wack ass music now
Radio pushed that $hit 😂
lol Right These songs are garbage and real hip hop heads never listened to this trash!
he named songs that no one was bumping in there car
he sound special
all club songs are goofy
Facts
The late 2000s was the peak of stupid dance rap songs. Most rappers that made those songs were one-hit wonders and forgotten 2 months after the song was hot.
Where as this generation like to keep dumb songs or rappers like them around too long. Soulja Boy was a rare thing even he fell off from copying too many rappers.
@@andrebryant5081 bro what are you talkin about soulja boy is a trend setter he help influenced a whole new generation……
@@UGLYBOYwrld Wtf are you talking about, he copied lil b's sound and ran with it back in 2010
Well...to be fair. You can't say everyone from back then liked all these songs. The only way I ever listened to Ms Booty was because of school dances. Literally no one in MY circle listened to it. Dilemma is the only song here that I liked.
Good times lmao. I love some of those dumbass ringtone rap tracks
For me it's Laffy Taffy. Even as a little kid, that song was more hilarious then anything. I'm still not over how it went #1 on the Hot 100
It makes literally no sense. Laffy taffy doesn't jiggle. At best it's malleable but if it's cold it doesn't bend
Ring tone era
Homey’s over hoes has the Laffy taffy beat
Girl shake that Laffy taffy lol
My momma was so annoying always singing this song 💀
In my opinion every generation is gonna have greats, wacks, & the stuff that makes us question how cringey we were
I'm quite sure there were some weak tracks from the 80's and 90's as well. But the guy did mention mostly all the dance hits so idk.
Man it got to a point where people were making up dances just to become popular like “crank that Batman” 😅🦇 wtf is a “crank that Batman”. 🧐
@@am2382Terrible songs have always existed. It's unavoidable 🤣
Literally never heard any 90s hip-hop fan say that any of these songs were good.
I guarantee nobody criticizing todays music is bumping bubbasparxxx
Guarantee!
It blows my mind that these guys dont recognize that 4 out of 5 of these songs is just strip club music, the equivalent of elevator music, but rap.
Do these guys actually think wed come home or hop in the car, grab our CDs or tapes and go:
" Nas, no..... jay z, no..... easy e, no.... bone, the chronic, doggystyle, three six, no, no, no, no.... scarface, no.... e40, mc eiht, boggie down productions, no, no, no.... epmd, no..... mob deep, no.... oh here it is, fvckin laffy taffy, thats what i wanted to bump.". Why listen to Illmatic or Makavelli when we can throw on laffy taffy?
Big Facts! I forgot that song existed until this video 😂😂😂
I'm an old head and I know there are trash songs in every generation 🤣
This is why I said 80s and 90s oldheads will accept any song during those times and get mad at our generation😂
I think the people that grew up in the 50s and 60s are worse when it comes to stuff like this
@@syria0110 you right about that too😂
@@syria0110 Well to be fair alot of their hits age well
YESSSSSS exactly what I’m saying. What’s the point of arguing with an oldhead when they will NEVER admit to an old bad song?
@@syria0110 fax baby boomers are sum of the biggest hypocrites😂
Honestly, with the exception of "Dilemma" i don't think anybody defending the lyrics because they're all dance songs
Aint watch the video yet, but if “This is why I’m hot” aint on here, I’m gonna pretend it’s #6
That chorus is so champ lol
He may of fizzled out the limelight but went on to make a lot of money after .
Man that is a terrible song. Every time I hear it I realize that it is not good lol.
Naw the way the beat switched when he changed regions 🔥
Hold on to be fair, Wax-A-Million's "No Panties On The Dance Floor" was not taken serious by anybody.
Also, "Tell Me What That Thang Smell Like" is a song to be ashamed of.
Honestly.. at least 70% of BET Uncut we should be ashamed of.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You forgot about "white girl" by mighty casey
And that song never blew up. It was just cool on Uncut
Its just detroit ghettotech
Dilemma was the song of 02’. I remember going back and actually taking in the lyrics. What was going on was foul lmao.
I was born in mid ‘02 so dilemma is probably one of the first songs I heard
I still fw dilemma cuz i like a girl with a bf 😂😂
What the hell is it to be ashamed about a song that actually has good premise. Smh
Omg yes 🤣🤣🤣
I'm an old head & I hated Delima 😫😫😫😂😂😂
I’m a millennial so a lot of this I can see what you mean.
1.) This hook went hard at the time, in hindsight it’s kinda stupid, like for real, a lot of stuff aged badly. However, this video aged horribly and yet ahead of it’s time predicting the future for people buying asses now lol.
2.) 70% of BET Uncut songs we should be ashamed of, like what the actual fuck is half of this whack shit. This song was terrible!
3.) Honestly, we can’t complain cause a lot of us at that time had dance craze dances. Millennial rap era basically had walk it out, Soulja boi, lean wit it rock wit it, stanky leg, flex, dougie, jerk/rejerk, chicken noodle soup… like it got out of hand folk, like really bad..
4.) In hindsight, this was pretty damn low down. Granted, four maybe five years prior “My Little Secret” was way worse. Nevertheless, this was on the low down for a monogamous relationship.
5.) I hated this god damn song when I was 13-14 years old (god rest Shawty Lo’s soul) but I fucking hated this song. This was terrible then, even worse now.
Fun fact. When I was in college, and I was apart of an HBCU band in Jacksonville, FL. We played a cadence in the drum line called…..”No Panties” 😂😂😂😂 I swear it was inspired by this damn song.
I’m a keep it real every generation of hip hop will always have whack songs 💯
*I remember Ice T said Soulja Boy killed Hip Hop with Crank Dat but I'm like D4L didn't when they came out with Laffy Taffy??!!!!*
“Then he come out with that Superman shit ? “ 🤣
The orginal crank dat before all the extra yooooooos was hard as fuck
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Boffum
I feel like with dilemma there is alot of songs now days that are the same , I always feel the same way sonically it sounds good but the lyrics I just can't mess with
Bro I heard that song so much as a kid I’m sick of it, that tune was every where you couldn’t escape it. And also what made it worse my gf broke up with me at that time for my best friend 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hated that song man
As one of those kids that stayed up late watching BET uncut. I've been waiting for this list.
Remember when Tip Drill was all my classmates talked about...smh lol. Cracking jokes about Nelly swiping his card through ole girls booty. Highly surprised a parody of that going horrifically left never happened.....🤣
@@psomichelle2758 one of my classmates was in the Tip Drill video, oddly enough she wasnt in none of the good parts.
Reason why these songs got famous was because it was catchy and people just enjoyed it Like there are songs that are undeniably bad but they were just fun to listen to or just turn your brain off.
This man really was in his feels about old heads criticizing todays music
Right all that emotion in his vocal cords 😂
Old heads get in their feelings when ppl criticize their music too
As someone who grew up with music in the 2000's I approve 👌 of this video! 😊🤣
These are the songs that inspired these new school "rappers"
Dilemma was basically about Kelly Rowland having a sneaky link 🤣🤣🤣
Bad taste is something that transcends all ages and generations.
I'm nearly 40 and I've never heard any of these old songs you're ripping on.
It’s because he picking the older shit songs that were somehow popular
The only song on this I've ever heard of was the booty booty booty song and that's just from memes.
The only song ill defend is Dilimma! Nelly's "Nellyville" Album was super fire!!
The 2000's had objectively worse songs than nowadays. All the corny dances aged like milk lmao
F no the 2000s had the best version of Jay, Kayne, Wanye, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, TI, Eminem, The Game, 50 Cent, Rick Ross who all objectively got worse in the 2010s and 2020s as rappers. All these rappers I mention would make most people top 100 rappers all time and their prime came from 2000-2009.
@@andrebryant5081 Kanye and Jay did not get worse.
@@mocapcow2933 i saw that nigga ona another comment that said soulja was copyin other rappers, when in fact they was copyin soulja boy, he obviously dont know what he talm
Bout💀
Nah, the Cupid Shuffle still goes hard asf
Bruh 2000's were literally the best so many people like 50 cent, G-unit, jay z, eminem, kanye west what are you talking about?
....and that's why Bubba Sparxx was a one hit wonder 🤣
Dude has a few hits tho, but I get it tho
This is why I stopped judging today’s music. The music I grew up listening to wasn’t much different lol
I'm thinking the reason Kelly Rowland doesnt have a writing credit on Dilemma because her part is basically just an interpolation of Patti LaBelle's "Love Need and Want You".
"Rap was way better back in the 2000s" ima stop you right there bud because whenever "old heads" mention the glory days of hip hop it's always exclusively referring to late 80s-90s.
im the old head and yes I agree but I do give the very start of 2000s their respect for being party focused and that was fun.
I was a teen through the 90s and a young adult in the 2000s so I got to enjoy it. but after a few years of that, about 2005 or 2006 it turned very very stupid. I quit listening to rap as my main genre around that time
Indeed
The problem with this list is that most of the Hip Hop heads blasted these songs as well. To me, this is where music in general started getting too commercial and watered down. I'm from the generation of 2pac, Nas, Wu Tang.....alot of underground artist and so forth.
This is definitely where it started. Laffy Taffy and Superman that hoe was the beginning of the end 😩
@@BELIKEJUATER lol, I feel you on that
To be fair, these were party, club songs; nobody was bumping this outside of the club; the same way, kid n party was club rappers; so was uncle Luke; they were lame, but they got party jumping.mc hammer was bigger than pac before he died so
You’re cherry picking like all 90s rap was just bars and conscious
Right its like he had the Choose the worst songs of that era but hands down this new music can not compare to the artist you mentioned and that's why I don't like this videos he is cherry picking
I'm older but I don't even clown newer rappers. That stretch from like 2007-2009 was terrible, to me. That snap/ringtone rap was terrible.
You always too clean with the transitions into the rapper promos 😂
Dilemma is always a song that sounded good but I flat out hated everything about it I hated this entire song for its message
The song promotion transition is always so smooth 😭😭😭
LOL at that censoring the second song. I remember I was in 9th grade when Laffy Taffy came out, and one of the popular girls had it as their ringtone, and it went off in the middle of English class, and my teacher was like, "Of all the songs you choose to interrupt with, you pick Laffy Taffy?"
that teacher was for the streets
These songs was ass when they came out besides the nelly song and coogie fell off in the 90s didn't know niggas was rocking coogi in 2000s
Ight now I was a jit when Flex came out and I stg it was the hardest song out😭 don’t worry if the song makes no sense
Coogi was popular in the late 90's, had a SHORT resurgence from like late 09-early 11 lol
I'm thinking that the people who hate the worst of this generation's music probably hated the worst of that generation's music as well. And the people who liked that BS back in the day probably mess with today's BS.
You're spitting rn
Time to see Anarchy Amiri go off on these things old heads 👏🏽
Hip Hop Universe shook rn
Biggie was super sus and old heads cant accept it
The funny thing about the 90's/early 2000's was we complained about the music then too🤣
😂😂😂 We complained so hard then trap music took over 😩 Now I wouldn’t mind a joyful snap song
Every generation does the same damn thing it’s a phenomenon even 10 thousand years ago they said the same shit lol
Exactly. There was so many songs I hated back then.
@@JoeeKickass99right like my people play around with the gen stuff but some people take it to serious. 😂
Growing up back then, I hated literally every song on this list. I was called hater for each one of these records.
As a 90s baby i agree with everything you said😂but you'd be lying if you say these songs wasnt fun to listen to
*Man! I remember being in a shelter after Hurricane Katrina hit in Baton Rouge when I first heard "Laffy Taffy" came on the radio. I honestly thought that was just a Baton Rouge thing cuz I heard A LOT of garbage from Baton Rouge but I remember coming back home to the N.O. weeks later & seeing them play it on Q93 & B.E.T. I was like man hell nah!!!!* 😡😡😡
Damn that’s crazy imagine being a shelter yo home destroyed and you hear laffy taffy on the radio lol I’d be pissed
I was thinking there was finna be some 2 live crew songs on this list there songs were dope but insane.
I used to think those songs were wack when they came out! Especially Laffy Taffy!
Laffy Taffy was one of the worst #1 Hits in Billboard Charts history. Artist like Prince, Whitney and MJ were the real deal ❤
that chicken dance song by blocboy's friend is still the worst dance song lol. funniest video tho due to everyone giving themselves whiplash
Has anyone sampled "Ms. New Booty" yet? If not that's CRAZY😂😂
Lil Kim in Found You
SWISH by TYGA.
Every era has songs where they were completely dumb but this era has the most and the hits and album sales are down 👇🏾
The Wax-A-Million song was his take on "Ghetto Tech". A Detroit staple of music history.
I forgot how ridiculous some of these songs were and the older generation complains about the new music even though they were the main ones hyping these songs up
Notice where alot of the music came from. The older generation gatekeep on rap became trash when the south and west were on top.
You wanna listen to a better song about love? Forget dilemma and focus on come closer by common. The music video is heartwarming and the track itself sounds way better.
Come close maaaaan dats gonna be in my wedding
I ADORE that song and the video makes me cry every time 😂
Bro u really beefing with older rap fans 😂😂😂 like they didn't make the songs and just cuz the radio played it don't mean the hood did
This list is further reminder why old heads want to gatekeep rap notice alot of these songs come from a region of the USA where reading isn't mandatory to be good at?
Nostalgia always wins bro. Rap songs in the 90s, early 2000's, late 2000's, whenever are just as stupid as the ones coming out now, not all of them of course but you get what I'm saying. People will always prefer the songs that came out around when they came up. Nostalgia goggles are real and everyone owns a pair.
I had the same "Scooby Doo music" thought right before you said it. 😂
Everytime I hear that song I ALWAYS think about a scene of the crew running from a villain through all the doorways lol. That music is perfect for that type of scene.
It's just rose coloured glasses and nostalgia. People are like that about every single thing from the 90s. To hear some people tell it every single thing from before the year 2000 was better. And you'll see comments on the 90s in general on all these old songs or the memories they had with the song which isn't actually relevant to the song itself at all.
These songs deserve the Nobel Peace Prize compared to Laugh to the Bank 💀
Just saw this today. Great video. Very funny in general, kinda deep and real on some parts, definitely very honest overall.
As someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s, some of us need to admit that these songs and many others were a running joke since they came out, especially any video on BET Uncut. Every genre has had terrible songs since the dawn of the music industry, it gets worse over time, and most people know a dumb song in general as soon as they hear it.
Ms. New Booty is the only song on the list I actually liked, and I like because it's dumb and the video makes me laugh
Hell nah! Coogi died with Biggie. Respectfully 🙏🏾
I ain't even 30 seconds in and I already know this about to be facts
Dilemma will always be a hit
Disco Duck will always be a hit too. Think about that...
Dilemma was/is terrible.
We ARE ashamed of these songs, but they were so bad that they were good. Like watching a cheesy popcorn flick
YOOO DAD BODI ACTUALLY A W ARTIST N DA TRANSITION IN2 DA PROMO WAS CLEAN 2 W VID 😭🔥
I’m a part of the 2000’s rap generation and I have always said the 2000’s was the worst generation for rap music. There was rarely no experimental music and it was the generation that the labeled had a 100% control of creativity. Unless you was Nas, Jay & Outkast as far as the mainstream side of Rap the labeled was controlling everything it’s why Bubba Sparxxx went from a classic debut and sophomore to Ms. New booty
That buh boogity go harder than the paint tho. Can’t lie. It’s a house party banger. Starter and finisher.
I’m an old head and this era of music was just wild, all genres too! I make an effort to give new music a try and hey, I love “Hyperpop” and “Drain” new music is so good, so many talented people and so many ways for them to share their talent.
To be fair, these were party, club songs; nobody was bumping this outside of the club; the same way, kid n play was club rappers; so was uncle Luke; they were lame, but they got party jumping.
Exactly it’s plenty of rap songs from back then that either sucked or just plain stupid just like songs now.
Me and my sister be bumpin Dilemma cause it just be such a good song but always point out how diabolical the lyrics are 🤣
I have been telling people about how messed up “Dilemma” is for YEARS and I feel like know one listened to me. This video validated me and I feel happy I am not the only one who sees the toxicity in that song lol.
As an old head I appreciate this video, and back in the day I thought these were trash too
Dawg you just blew my mind with dilemma! Like when I read the lyrics I was like yooooooo!!!! We even performed this song in a play back in 2002!
I respect your opinion 💯 but thrown a horrible flashback for me of bet uncut lol
Nigga you went and picked some of the most obscure shit ever to talk about old heads... Wasn't no real rap fans bumping any of this BS, these were underground songs and famous in the city songs. 🤦🏿♂️
Dilemma ain't even a rap song it's an R&B song with a rapper on it. The only one I'll give you is Laffy Taffy and niggas made fun of the South back then for making garbage like that so while it's memorable people hated it back then too. 😂
To be fair some ppl including myself panned Laffy Taffy when it came out. I remember hearing blasting from a car while walking and it almost me stop in my tracks and walk the other way like WTF is this Casio keyboard garbage?
I mean ms new booty's hook isn't really different from meg's body song
Dude, my tiny butch Latin teacher in high school was singing Ms. Nee Booty one time as a joke. I tried to record it in my ipod touch (im old) and she got so pissed.
Uhhhh just hearing the opening to that Bubba Sparx song makes me cringe I was in 6th grade when this came out an I hated it so much this one always been trash but a whole bunch of people were definitely bumping it
Bruh… from JUMP I felt attacked cannot help I’m 40 years old in two more years scary enough!!! Hahahaha 😆😆😆 Well played dude
How is Dilemma a bad song when it's actually talking about something? The other songs yea I agree.
It doesn't mean we loved all the songs my good Sir. We still found them stupid, young as we were
BET Uncut!! 😂😂 I’m truly ashamed
The funniest part is that nobody with any real taste cared about any of those songs when they came out…😂😂😂
This gotta be a series my g. I'm starting to lean more toward old head-ism myself but that don't mean there ain't a bunch of bullshit we was bumpin back when it came out lol keep this shit coming there's a treasure trove of nonsense you can pull from
The most iconic thing about Dilemma is the "Ahhhh" sound. Love it !!!! The rest of the song is a pure cringe fest.
I loved Nellyville but I turn the next track when Dilemma came on. That record was pretty solid. Personally though back in those, I was not a fan of any song or really artist on this list. I was big into 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ album, and really big into Eminem’s Eminem show and prior records. Nappy Roots was dope back then too for me, and I was also a Ludacris fan too. That’s about all the rap I really listened too during those times as a “90’s head”. Lol I was mostly into rock/metal music by the 00’s. 3 Doors Down, Three days Grace, Sevendust, Shadowsfall, etc.
If I listened to rap, I didn’t like too much of what was on the radio. Back then we buy the CD and listen to the other songs that wouldn’t be allowed on radio or mtv etc. I’m also not one to complain about any music of today either. Just bc I don’t like it doesn’t mean it isn’t art to someone else.. 🤷🏼♂️
Every generation has whack, stupid songs. That's music. The generations behind yours is going to laugh and complain about yours. This is never, ever going to change.
I forgot about some of these songs. This was a good topic. Part 2 needed 🔥
Ms. New Booty was funny as hell as a kid and now lmfaooooooo
Aye I forgot about "betcha can't do it like me" 🤣. To be fair, I don't know how many of us actually liked the songs as opposed to finding them painfully hilarious......but people were dancing though 😭😂
To be fair, these were party, club songs; nobody was bumping this outside of the club; the same way, kid n party was club rappers; so was uncle Luke; they were lame, but they got party jumping.just dance songs that's all and all dances are lame
fun fact: the patterned sweatshirt that biggie wears in that famous picture where he wearin his shades and counting his money is actually a coogi sweatshirt
Modern music wouldn't exist without that transition from late 90s into early 2000s and the subsequent "collapse" of rap 2008-10.
The old heads don't like the fact that everything going on in music now is just a continuation of what they were doing. Rap hasn't changed much it just became more saturated.
Also being from Dallas I can say the Coogi phase was more about the denim. They had a bunch of designs that was really popular then so it caught on for a while. Then jean shorts as a whole got put outta style, so the one thing holding up the whole brand all of a sudden became unacceptable.
Anything from the Tall Tee era is shameful fr… we really thought we were doing something
Mid 2000's/late 2000's rap was so garbage bruh🤣 like there was good music but so much garbage.
i swear there were some tracks in the mid 2000's that after listerning to it a few times, i literally felt my brain erode. i actually turned off rap for a couple of years.
Good point about dilemma. Even though I like the song it is about toxicity.
Nah bro you had me rollin when you pointed out the buh boogity🤣🤣
