I’m picturing a young person like Aniket seeing this and hearing they have potential and going on to design cars or achieve wherever dreams they have and never forgetting the time someone they admired gave them encouragement. It’s the best.
I really hope so this happens. Unfortunately careers regarding to automotive designing are really close to none in our country so people don't even appreciate those who are interested in it. I am pretty sure Aniket must be excited af!
Frank, what you’re doing with your RUclips channel is incredible! I can’t wait to see what other videos you have in the pipeline and I’ll be along for the ride the whole way!
I don't know about car designs but I know in my domain (Architecture) the form follow the fonction. So we put the essential elements first then we make the form of the house/building so I wonder if in car design its the same
Повечето видеа, които съм качвал в канала си през последните няколко години, показват именно прехода от оформление към практически разработени части на колата.
@@kitsune2509 , virtually all Zaha Hadid projects are the opposite, i.e. the function follows the form, which makes them extremely expensive to build, less spacious and very difficult to clean the glasses due to the use of plenty of unnecessary elements that are there just to serve the design intent. Many other architects also favor the looks and threat the practicality as a less important aspect of the building.
I think he needs to tone down the rear slope a bit, otherwise it could get a sort of sc 57 Atlantic vibe to it. I'm not a designer though so that's just my opinion
There actually was a concept car in 2009 that shares some ideas with this sketch, the Citroën reVOLTe concept. It has more integrated fenders, but it is also quite round and more or less reduced. The sketch really goes much further in terms of simplicity, which is maybe more fitting to the original 2CV
this is incredibly well done and actual tips to help them improve at each of their skill levels and not like “oh first of all learn how to sketch perfectly straight lines and perfect ellipses then we can talk” - if that makes any sense...
As a student of Industrial Design, but never worked professionally in the field, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Thanks for doing these videos Frank!
Sir Frank, this is content people need! So glad to you have you around teaching the new generation. Entertaining, making something that is a productive use of our time and inspiring. And you got a great video editor, he is taking it to another level by adding the funny side of you.
I love the fact Frank has created this critique forum, what an amazing humble and yet mega talented designer. In my opinion one of the best car designers in the world. His biomimicry philosophy and forward thinking innovation is unparalleled. I am lucky enough to have a 12C Spider on my driveway and marvel at the lines every time I look at it....top man Frank
Good proportions and shapes make for good design. Glad these young designers showed this , too many designs today are focusing on the fussy detail rather than the purity of shape . Thanks for the vid Frank looking forward to the next .
Mr. Frank, Thank you for the videos. I am just a car lover but don't truly understand design and you explanation about design helps me to buy/look a car in a completely different way. Thank you for taking the time.
Holy cow, this is some really valuable feedback for everyone, not just the artists who made the designs. Can't wait to have more of this series coming out on RUclips. Thanks a lot for the effort putting this content for everyone to see.
Absolutely brilliant Frank. I have to say, as a musician myself, I did appreciate those musical references! This video was so inspirational, and your presentation technique was flawless :)
Man this is so cool. Having the designer of so many good and beautiful cars here on youtube, reviewing designs from all the people, being "closer" to all the fans... As soon as I see an upload from you I rush to YT to watch it. Awesome man!!
Frank, you are fast becoming a living legend in my book! If only this top quality advice was around when I was a young boy, designing cars day and night.
Mr. Frank, you give novice designers a great desire to develop, and moreover, you let them know which way to develop. There are very, very few people who give such hope and useful criticism to the work of novice car designers. The very fact that such an experienced and well-known car designer looks at our work is a big step forward for us. This video met all expectations and i look forward to a new video review, which may include my design
This is really interesting and useful. As a non-designer you get an idea why a certain shape is beautiful or why you feel a certain way when seeing a particular shape (or collection of shapes in the case of cars). Thanks for taking the time to explain this, I can't wait to see more of these episodes.
Same for me man I used to draw so many cars up until I turned 13 or something and unfortunately I just stopped someday for whatever reason. Now I'm 22 and I wonder how much I could've progressed if I hadn't stopped in the first place.
Great video Frank. l love the fact you do your critique with a big fat cigar by your side and a tumbler of cognac , l wish yiu were my art teacher when l was at school lol 😆😉
This exercise was handled even better than expected. Rather than just criticizing and saying what you'd do differently, you actually showed (especially with the first example) practical changes which the submitter could actually apply. So nice seeing someone as competent as Frank actually giving helpful feedback without discouraging other people's creativity/vision.
Really interesting video Frank. I like the approach you’ve taken. Constructive critiques on design and technique and above all really encouraging of these up and coming designers. How cool it must be to have your design feature in a Frank Stephenson video! They must be walking ten feet off the ground right now. Bravo sir!
One thing that is especially interesting about this series is that you didn't just show a bunch of sketches that are already great. You gave everyone at all levels a chance to showcase their work and improve from your meaningful feedback. Keep it up!
Love it! Send in a drawing as well and really hope there will be future episodes feature some of the others as well:) Thx for such a amazing channel! In the world of tiktok, memes and alot of just useless crap, this is soo refreshing!
Hey Frank Stephenson, I have a content suggestion that I'd personally find interesting and think many others would as well. Only if you're comfortable with it, it would be great to have a livestream session, in which viewers could suggest different car models which you'd then try and draw from memory or give design "instructions" from which to design a new car etc. I think that kind of live interaction would be very fun addition to this more educational format. This could be done in RUclips Live or Twitch, for example. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there. Your unique content here for sure is valuable addition to the legacy of beautiful automotive design you've amassed so far as it will educate and inspire new talent. Thanks and keep it coming!
