My virgo ex broke up with me because he said I didn't have time for him. Since I didn't wanna break up with him then, I made the effort to change my ways and made time for him 'as friends' all the while giving him space. Well... By the time he was ready to be with me again, maybe about a month later, I've already moved on and realised we're much better as friends.
