Acceleron V was one of the fiest videos I watched on RUclips and I still occasionally watch it back. And here, 11 Years later you still make some of the coolest content in my Subs! Keep it on!
Thanks Simon. We were happy how that launch went. After the cert flight, if the rocket survives, we want to crank up the pressure and fly it again as a water rocket.
I just want you to know that you are the first video I have ever watched on RUclips, and the first channel I have ever subbed. Thanks for the hard work
Cheers, and sorry about that, I think it has been about 6 months since the last video update. We will be releasing a video every week for the next couple of months. :)
I'm very glad, to see the cause of my water rocket hobby back on and in air. Also glad to read, that you plan to launch "a video every week for the next couple of months".
Cheers. :) Yeah we currently have all the video footage for the next 6 videos. Just have to do the editing now which takes a bit of time. Usually it's 5-8 hours of footage per video that we have to cut down to ~10 minutes.
I did water rockets as a little kid with the store bought toys; then in the 90's with a PVC launcher of 2 liter bottles. Started again bottles cemented together or using florescent light tubes. I loved trying to homebrew recovery systems. Since then, I've been following your channel and just amazed at how far you've taken the hobby. Impressive as fv
Glad to see your still working on the Wrockets George. The Tajfun 2 is looking nice and I hope you have a great flight when it comes to your cert flight.
It would be so nice if the weather here in hamburg would be nice enough to lauch like this. instead we have the rocket in the basement for months… Anyway amazing work and we are so glad you are back with amazing videos! ❤ by the way what on Board cam are you using?
Thanks, the weather here can be a bit of a hit and miss as well, but generally we can fly most of the year round. The camera we used for this flight was the old 808 #16 camera. It only shoots at 720p. We are saving the mobius mini for the more important flights. :)
Hi, we use several different ones depending on the project, here are all the ones we use: AltimeterOne and AltimeterThree from Jolly logic, zLog mod 6 from Hexpert Systems, StratoLoggerCF from PerfectFlight, and Dan's Rokit flight computer.
Hey George and team. Really enjoy the chan. Thx for the excellent vid. Question - Is it feasible to use internal pyro to pressurise the water as opposed to external pump?
I think that may be possible, I am not sure how the pyro would respond to the increasing pressure. You would also want to make sure you match the volume to the amount of gas produced so you don't over pressurise the rocket.
What are J and K motors? ... Those are solid propellant motors (APCP). Here is an example of the J360 motor we plan to fly on next for our certification flight: www.apogeerockets.com/Rocket_Motors/Cesaroni_Propellant_Kits/54mm_Motors/3-Grain_Motors/Cesaroni_P54-3G_Skidmark_J360
This is a good question. No you don't need dual deploy, though with a single deploy you are likely to walk a long way to retrieve it. The expected altitude on the J360 we are planning to use is around 3000 feet, so we plan on using a drogue at apogee and JollyLogic's chute release on the main at perhaps 400 feet or so. That way we can still have just the current deployment mechanism but get dual deploy functionality. We are also going to use a flight computer that detects apogee rather than a timer like we had on this flight.
Id suggest your water nozzle speed is way too low, and hence efficiency will suffer dramatically.. you can boost this by injecting air into the nozzle to mix the air with water and thus speeding up water drops velocity.. the way have it set up now ,it is half water rocket and half air rocket and they have 2 very different nozzle requirements.. you need to optimize the nozzle design for a mix of water and air. You should be aiming to run out of water when the pressure drops by 80%. your craft is currently optimized for power and not ISP. Its all about efficiency and nice even propellant velocity ..
really impressive, you are far far away from the toys of our young times.. . Perhaps to solve this pressure measurement defect, you could try an electronic internal sensor directly placed in the "Waterrgol" tank? connected via Bluetooth to the motherboard of the launcher...
Thanks, that's certainly an option. We already are doing something similar with our high pressure launcher, where the pressure gauges are at the rocket end and we send back a video feed. This was the first time we saw this issue, because normally the rockets are a lot smaller and therefore they equalize their internal pressure faster.

Thanks very much for your support :)
Great to see you back! That was a really smooth launch. Good luck with the Level 2!

Welcome to RUclips, and thanks for following :)
Yesterday I watched another epic launch, and today I watched yours. Both impressed me! )
The SpaceX launch sure was impressive! Had the kids watch it live as well.
Beautifull to see your team are your Family ❤Greeting from Hungary Frank🎉
Another magnificent achievement George, you can be proud of yourself!
Merci François :)
Good to have you back on and in the air.
Men definitely you are my hero!! Let me know if you planning to go to USA some day.
Great Video, great to see you back!
Cheers :)
What an impressive release, congratulations on the video. I’m from Brazil and I love your work.
Obrigado Felipe :)
awesome! the parachute mechanism seems to be really cool!
wahooo, always my most anticipated rocket channel update.
Cheers, and sorry about that, I think it has been about 6 months since the last video update. We will be releasing a video every week for the next couple of months. :)

Great stuff, George!
Great to see you back :D
Very nice to hear from you guys !
yup, it's been a while. We plan on doing more regular videos again.
Well done Air Command Rockets team! Impressive that the rocket had so little spin!
Thanks Dan :) The fin alignment jig worked well this time.
Great to hear from you guys again, nice one 👍
Cheers, we hope to be back to more regular video posts now.
Nice work George
Cheers SpaceMan :)

Thanks for following along Brian :)
Excellent launch!
looking fantastic George! will have to come out to Mullaley sometime to say hello again.
Impressive name for an impressive rocket! 🫡
Good vid, very well presented. Interesting project.
Glad to see your still working on the Wrockets George. The Tajfun 2 is looking nice and I hope you have a great flight when it comes to your cert flight.
Thank you. We are hoping to do the cert flight in August this year.
Very nice. Now make the WWII hypergolic version of Taifun. 😁

oh dang you cant get that thing here in Germany at an affordable price
we have to use the runcam 2 4k which is a bit to much money on the line if we crash
great job!
Enjoyed the video(s).
Hi George, your videos are amazing, what kind of altimeter do you have? Have a good day.

What is the JK mode? I could not find anything about it.

Awesome video as always!! Any future plans for level 3?
Cheers. No plans for level 3 at this stage, but you never know ... we need to get through L2 first. :)
@@AirCommandRockets Best of luck to you! And congrats on 60k subscribers!
time for ground support equipment updates 😅
Does it have to have dual deployment for L2?

How about a rocket with a water/air powered 1st stage and a pyro powered 2nd stage???
Several people have tried that already. Sorry don't have references for those.
damn that is cool
TOETULLEE AWWWWWWWSUM! ❤😱😝🤪🤣😁👍👍🇺🇲

Where does this air being injected into the nozzle come from?
