Exactly!! People just want this done and over already! Yet they keep on adding useless content that just makes it worse… FF7 remake/rebirth is soo good if only they stick to the plan and trust the process
@@mikhailstrauss4354😂 dude, some said FF og was bigger than it was plan while others said it was half the game. I guess someone was going for the half the game making it more. Regardless, OG FF 7 exactly the same… how?
@@bmonthatipkul I don’t quite understand what you are saying and I’m not quite sure if you understand what I said. Anyways, way back around 2014 or something the fans has already been screaming for a remake with today’s latest graphics. Back then people really didn’t know if Square Enix would push through and even just the idea of possibility gave the fans hope. Clinging into this hope, the fans were just grasping at straws so that this will push through so they compromised. With all these extra story line and side quests the fans are disappointed because there was no issue of remaking this game at all. They are doing so much unrelated to the original story line they could’ve just remake the whole thing in one whole thing instead of three parts. Don’t get me wrong Rebirth is great but even if they remove the side quest and extra story line and focus on the 3rd franchise it would still be great.
Straight up. The combat system is the perfect balance between turn based and action based. To me (and I really did enjoy ff16 story line and gameplay) the thing that kept me from really thinking ff16 was legendary or felt like a final fantasy was 100 percent the lack of an actual party and how they stripped status ailments, elemental weakness, and debuffs from the game. Felt super weird. Rebirth was perfect imo.
@@jonathanpowell9376 I wish they committed more to the devil may cry combat with ability variety and being able to use your entire kit at all times, considering how you were always limited. Especially since the base combos were very baren, and the same as the RPG aspects. You just level up and equip better gear, which is fine, but there's nothing really else there. If the RPG aspect was simple but you were able to have as a big of a toolbag as Dante, then I wouldn't have thought too hard about it, but I digress.
@@The_Phoenix_Saga man I agree, the final fantasy 7 reboot was such a let down. I have no interest in touching any more remakes or reboots from square enix after this.
dirge DLC after R3 thats like what intergrade was for yuffie but for vincent is a good idea imo, people love that character and would 100% play a DLC designed for using him solo in combat advent children DLC also a good idea but theyd have to expand/rewrite some of that story to make that work as a game and it would prob feature mainly solo missions per character with the occasional team fight (cloud + vincent in the woods, entire party for bahamut, etc.)
After it's done, I'd like to see 3 DLCs. A sephiroth DLC, An Ancients DLC where we see how Jenova came and corrupted them and how they sealed it in the northern crater, and then finally, an Advent Children DLC. That would complete it for me!
All good ideas, though I'd argue the Ancients stuff would probably be better served as its own thing. Either a completely new game (it would need a whole new cast after all) or even a movie or short episodic series. FF7's world has tons of post-Remake potential but I'm not sure how much of it you can stretch out into a full-length game.
Have you played FF7 Ever Crisis? They’re literally doing Sephiroth’s backstory as a child and how he got his blade Masamune and they just had a Cetra backstory last month. It was beautiful.
they couldn't even plan or get ff7 remake right, so why would they ever have the competency to release DLCs? Remember the non canon Yuffie DLC? Yuffie wasn't even in Midgar when the game oepened at any point until the Hojo mission came along. Its all fan fiction at this point.
I dislike that the industry is always chasing fidelity, realism and bigger budget production. This is not what **makes** great games. It's the writing, the artstyle, the music etc., even when it's lo-fi. Because of today's priorities, we can never have games the length and creativity of FF6-9 in one single game ever again.
Honestly the I think the main reason why OG FF players prefer the old ones are because of nostalgia. I think 16 by itself was great. I grew up with 9 and that was really great don’t get me wrong but if you take off the nostalgia lenses, I think 16 deserves to be in that list of great FF’s. IMO though lol
I would say gameplay is what makes great games, at least for me good gameplay is the number 1 priority, with exploration and world design being a close second. Music and art direction are important as well but lower on my list. Writing is just a bonus. I think 99% of games have mediocre to bad writing so I probably would not be a gamer if writing was my priority. But I totally agree with you that the obsession with graphical fidelity is a problem. And you're right that it's difficult for any modern game to have an adventure as long and varied as what we used to get. Although I'd say Dragon Quest 11 and the Witcher 3 are good examples of modern games that feel like they have multiple games worth of content. They are, of course the exception, but at least they do exist.
@@levi26448Absolutely not, that game is on the low end, one of the worst games in the series. Nostalgia argument isn’t winning here. Those games really are still great, and 16 is terrible.
@@levi26448you're not considering the large percentage of people who did NOT play the games when they were young or when they first came out. If someone can logically assess what makes the games good, nostalgia has absolutely nothing to do with it.
@@levi26448 Very, very reductive. We prefer the OG for what it meant to us on a philosophical, emotional, and experience level. Its not because we romanticize our childhood. We may have liked FFVII superficially at the time we played it as children, but as we got older, we grew to understand what it really meant. There is also a certain feel to pure JRPGs...that can't be captured in an action RPG. And this is coming from someone who actually likes the trilogy so far.
Thank you once more for covering this interview NSP!🙌🏽🤗 As much as I would've loved a small DLC after Rebirth and the third part,(one starring Cid or Vincent) I have to admit that they have a point. It would be much better for part 3 to release asap. Also if I were them, I would consider making AA games from time to time. Since there is currently a huge gap in game types. Being able to play FF7 AC in a small DLC would be amazing honestly.❤ Thanks again NSP😁🙌🏽
@@GoldenMushroom64If you think settling for a fraction of a first disc filled with mediocrity and irrelevant convolution of the very story it's supposed to be honouring, that is.
@@The_Phoenix_Saga That “one job” you’re talking about isn’t nearly as easy as you apparently think it is. When they were discussing the idea of a remake, most of us didn’t even know what kind of game it would look like.
As far as anything after FF7R3... personally, I'd prefer to see an anime or even a manga series (however short or long it may be) about any potential "side stories" they want to tell, or perhaps FF7AC as a DLC as you mentioned... other than that though, I really think the 3rd installment needs to cap off, so-to-speak, the FF7 story/universe as a whole and let it rest, in an official capacity. It's been absolutely fantastic to revisit FF7 through the Remake trilogy, but... pushing it any further afterward just seems like too much. To me.
kitase said that their team won’t be working on ff7 games after pt 3 anymore but that doesn’t mean there won’t be ff7 stuff afterwards. kinda the same what hamaguchi said there
They already have all the assets, they should redo ffvii original for the fans who were disappointed with the new story direction. I love remake for the record but I'd defo pay for a proper remake of the O.G story.
ff7 would have grown the franchise if it was a day one PC release, and on Xbox. The exclusivity limited its impact severely. Copy capcom in that sense.
Indeed. Square Enix really should have started to cater more to a multi-platform audience a decade ago. Unfortunately, I fear Part 3 will still be tied to Sony even if the rest of the franchise going forward won't be.
PC at launch would have been better but who knows what Sony is paying Square to keep their deal in place. Final Fantasy has been synonymous with PlayStation for a long time, since the original FF7 in fact. If there's any shortlist of IPs that Sony knows they MUST keep, this series is on there.
CBU1 really needs to work on the next mainline title. FFXVI was one of my least favorite games in the entire series and I really don’t want the 14 team touching a mainline single player game ever again. Especially after the remake team established this great combat mix in the series, and it’s been very well received, just continue with that combat and continue to iterate and develop it.
Imagine if they make another ff7 game that has the same quality as rebirth, same combat system and whatnot, but tells the story of what happens after ff7. Sure you can throw Advent children in there and dirge in there, but you could combine them into a whole new story arc involving all of the same characters. I would love a Final Fantasy VII remake part 4
It’s going to be the most story driven out of the entire retrilogy. The crux of the story didn’t happen until after the second disc in OG FF7, which is where the third part of Remake will be continuing from. I seriously can’t wait for when part 3 comes out!
If it's not in part 3 then personally I would consider it a colossal failure by Square. Why bring him back at all if they're not going to properly utilize him?
Reborth was great, but as Sqeenix keeps chasing the fidelity-dragon, i'm more and more glad games like Metaphor and even their own hd2d games sell better. Not ALL games need to have ultra textures and sky-high resolutions. Give us better tales with deeper mechanics and screw the graphics arms race. Metaphor Re Fantazio is easily my GotY, although Rebirth was great it its own way.
Metaphor did not sell better than Rebirth, and we do not have official figures of Rebirth’s sales, just initial sales estimates from analysts. You shouldn’t be cheering on a game not selling as well when it is high quality just because you prefer other games.
Advent Children would have one of the strongest cases for being made playable. It can have a good number of setpiece combat sequences on top of the regular fights, reimagining the key battles as the QTE Minigames from Remake and Rebirth (Those would effectively make them 4-Button "Reaction Command" Battles).
I enjoy the combat in remake and rebirth. That being said I would also love for final fantasy 17 to look and play allot more like octopath traveler. I mean why not. The game would cost a lot less to make. They can still give it that final fantasy flair and I think people will love that. Why not switch it up from time to time.
I really hope we see more of towns and the OG story. I really loved Rebirth but missed things like Bone Village and spend an enormous time on digging in order to get into the sleeping forest. Wutai, same thing. Getting into the tower.. I hope we see more and get even more freedom om exploring towns and new places.🤗
While he delivered a positive message by stating that fans really want Part 3 to arrive sooner, I think that it's highly likely that any DLC that had been in the earliest of stages was scrapped due to the unfortunate low sales of Rebirth; or at least, maybe shelved with the potential to be revisited after Part 3, should it be more successful.
Most immersion I’ve ever had in a game is when I have to sit and deliberate what actions I want my characters to use based on how they are built. Do I heal, buff, debuff, enfeeble, or whatever.
My guess is knights of the round is going to be a big sidequest. It’ll be a summon materia that was shattered into 13 pieces and you have to find each piece and put them together. And the only way to put them together is to fight each knight individually
@@rezamosleh4561 I am not quite sure and I could be wrong...But I heard somewhere that Hojo orchestrated it all. I believe the mobile game Ever Crisis delves into Sephiroth story so it is best to keep an eye on how the story progress there, through youtube(or just flat out play the game) Hojo is very sadistic and twisted. From what I remember hearing, it was all part of his experiment, he knew that Sephiroth wouldn't resist wanting ro seek answers about his true orgins and led him there, to then see what he would do afterwards.(we all know what happened next🥲)
Honestly might not be much stopping from from opening up more of Midgar now, I remember in the original you could return after finding an external access key in Bone Village, they could revisit that, not to mention we saw more than one way in and out in Rebirth and Zack showed it's not exactly difficult to get in and out of the city's outer wall. As for more content, I'd say remake Before Crisis, that one was suck in Japan only on cell phones.
Yeah, I think you're right, NSP. Studios have gotten shy of making new IP. A new AA title that has great sales is what's needed. It's good to be able to risk new ideas without risking too much money.
Since you ask, I have an insane concept for part three that I'll reshare. Everything plays out similar to the original much like Rebirth did. You fight Sephiroth in the Northern Crater and Omnislash him to oblivion. Credits roll. Post credits you get an Endgame style black screen that fades in 2. Years. Later. Now you've got control of Advent Children Cloud and you play a modified version of Advent Children. After that, the party reassembles and you run through a modified version of Dirge of Cerberus. And then finally finally you get to the post credit with Genesis and he revives Sephiroth one more time for a final climatic conflict that sees you purging both from the planet for all eternity. And so ends the Completion of Final Fantasy VII.
Would love to see something like a FINAL FANTASY gaiden of sorts, where a team puts together a retro style game in the heart of the series with its own art style in 2D or 2.5D.
I hope in part 3 we can go everywhere else we haven't gone in part 1 in Midgar. One thing that I would say is, that they should remaster/remake Dirge of Cerebus, and remake Before Crisis... We should at least have the entire compilation available console full unabridged game so someone could play though the entire compilation.
honestly i didn't expect a DLC for Rebirth was coming, with how big and full of content it has theres not much else they could add to it, specially with the party pretty much together, a DLC would only seem ok if it was going to introduce someone, or explain someone's back story kind of thing but all of the party is already together, and pretty much all of there back stories have for the most part been explained, im not a fan of Dirge of Cerberus but i would get if they just release a HD Remaster of it just to have all the games available on the newer consoles, but Dirge doesn't add anything really, i like Vincent but that game kinda did him dirty, in my opinion anyways, i kinda expect part 3 like you said to have a DLC of Advent Children rewriting and fixing the story and characters to make it all work together better, they already are hinting at the Stigma with Cloud's actions and such so i do expect Advent children to become part of Part 3 in someway.
I hope it has a whole Midgar region. It would fit in if they expand the Return to Midgar section. I wonder if all the regions from Rebirth will come back in part 3? Or will they streamline the story segments that happen in those locations? Because presumably there will be regions for the Icicle Inn/Great Glacier, Rocket Town, Mideel, Wutai and hopefully Midgar too. If all the regions in Rebirth come back then surely the game will be absolutely huge, considering how big Rebirth was already.
About being able to explore all of Midgar, I think we actually might get to do that in Part 3 after the Midgar raid segment of the game. I can see the city and its surrounding area being fully open to us to explore.
What I actually be okay with is if Final Fantasy 17 setting is during Jenova's time against the Ancients. Square should make her the final boss and make her identity secret. This would soooooo slappps bro.
It would make sense that as Part 3 becomes more story-heavy like Part 1, that they cut back a little on the extraneous activities like the mini-games and only include them as they did in the OG. Snowboarding, Fort Condor, Queen's Blood and Chocobo Breeding should all be in, but leave the rest to the Gold Saucer where the player can come and go as they please.
I have a feeling we'll get more Midgard in Part 3, either the return to Midgar portion or possibly postgame stuff. We might even get to explore Advent Children Midgar.
When it comes to comments around turn-based v real time, I agree partly with what Hamaguchi said. I don’t think action based combat is necessarily more shallow, it’s that if it’s not well thought through then it can be more hack and slash rather than thinking and strategising your battles, which is what I enjoy about turn-based games. This is why I like Rebirth’s combat. It has the strategic thinking and battle planning from the old games, where it really pays to think about your materia and party builds depending on the enemy, but it also makes you think on your feet as you’re both controlling the more strategic ATB elements, while also swapping party members and fighting in real time. I’d be happy with a return to turn-based combat, but as long as they strike a balance between thoughtful, strategic gameplay with an element of action, I don’t mind them keeping this style going forwards.
Over saturating FF7 content would not help the brand grow in the long run and it would eventually wear down even the most die hard fans. Hopefully they don't add too much DLC when it's all said and done and focus on newer projects reusing/updating current systems.
If over-saturation is what it takes to get good new lore then so be it. The new Ever Crisis episodes are the best written FF7 stuff since Crisis Core and it's sad to see the best writing stuck in an obscure spin-off game. Really need this in the triple A games. Glenn, Zack, and Cissnei in Rebirth is all scraps of the good stuff and a small step in the right direction and I hope part 3 really builds on viewing things from the perspective of other characters.
I really want part 3 to be bigger and longer than rebirth because part 3 has a lot of stuff to cover, and I want the affinity system for the same party members in rebirth and new party members for part 3.
Rebirth already has so much content that I couldn't even imagine the benefit to a DLC. I agree, they should just focus their time and resources on getting part 3 out. That's what makes the most sense.
Unfortunately some of the fans like throwing tantrums about wanting remake, aren't going to go out and play it until all 3 parts are out. Also theres a lot of fans who think its just the 'same game' ironically. In contrast to the people who hate the game because of how different it is whether it is via whispers or action combat versus turn based.
I absolutely love balance the Re-Trilogy has found between turn based and action based combat. Now with that being said, there’s a part of me that hopes Vincent will play similarly to Dirge of Cerberus. Like maybe let us ADS in 3rd person mode still for his normal attack or something. Idk it’ll be interesting to see how they handle him and his kit
I would definitely like some FF7 stuff after Rebirth. AT LEAST an Advent Children thing and something with Dirge. I mean Vincent and Cid got snubbed so bad, theyre ONLY going to be playable in the 3rd game. Hell maybe just give the 3rd part some big expansions and call it a day
I hope they don’t stop making FF7 universe I just got into it this year! I never heard of FF7 until Remake came out I didn’t understand Remake but after playing Rebirth this year I looked up the story and I love it. I downloaded Ever Crisis last month, I watched Advent Children for the first time this summer, and Ima buy all the books next. I hope they keep making more I literally just got here please don’t stop or I’ll literally die.
The only thing I’d like to see as an expansion to the FF7 story is a prequel of when Jenova first arrived and it follows the Ancients trying to stop her
Any maniac who voted for Ballatro for GOTY when Rebirth exists needs to just retire from gaming permanently because that is disgraceful. I'd literally rather see Shadow of the Erdtree win GOTY. (Not callinng Bellatro bad. It just does not compare to Rebirth)
I would be okay with a DLC if we could get a story with Cid leading to the beginning of FF7R3 starting at Rocket Town, or Vincent ending with the team meeting with him. Also a Dierge of Cerberus remake would be welcomed!
I'm thankful. Games are called games for a reason. Gameplay is the defining trait of what makes a game. It should always be the priority. That doesn't excuse the nonsense multiverse shenanigans, but ultimately they did make a better game with part 2 by actually focusing on the game. Part 1 was very linear and very story heavy, and it suffered for it. The game was good but it felt claustrophobic and small, with no freedom. Part 2 fixed that and was better.
@ I understand your stance. Mine is the opposite. For me if the game is FF, story comes first, so I loved both Remake and FF16 a lot more than Rebirth. If the game is Elden Ring, it has a story, but nobody plays that game for “the story” they do for the thrill of the challenge (gameplay first). Take FFXIV Dawntrail MSQ for instance, a lot of people found the first half of the MSQ boring, and it was: no stakes, nothing happening for hours and hours. Eventually the real plot begins and it is back to good stories. And yet, the game had a lot of improvements in the gameplay: all new mechanics after 10 years, melee jobs became a lot better, Pictomancer is great etc. In the end, people felt mixed over the expansion just because part of the story wasn’t good, and I get it, FF14’s “thing” is the MSQ. Finally, I expect Part 3 to be the best of all since they don’t have to hold back. All will be answered. The story HAS to end. No time for padding. No more “have fun chasing dogs, the plot can wait”. In many ways I feel FF7-3 will feel like a full FF. A true FF.
That’s how the original was though. Leaving Midgar to where Rebirth ended was very bleak story-wise in the OG, it was basically open world exploration while trying to find clues about Sephiroth. In Rebirth they somehow managed to expand this middle part of the game into a compelling story-line while also delivering a rich open world experience.
Turn based combat can be immersive (or at least doesn't break it) if you go in knowing that's what you're getting in to. I love figuring out the best straand abilities to tackle big bosses. I like action combat as well, but it exercises different muscles. The downside to the recent action based RPGs is that they all feel the same. Dodge, block, parry, strike. Learn the pattern. The quality may differ (as does the difficulty) but Elden Ring, Final Fantasy XVI, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Black Myth Wukong, and Stellar Blade all pretty much play the same. Some are just harder than others.
Honestly, fuck the original story at this point. I want to explore Midgar, I want to see Aerith live, I want to see something new for the party to deal with. Also, I'm not sure how they're going to do post-trilogy content if Part 3 is supposed to wrap-up everyone's story. Everyone's story includes Cloud, Vincent, etc., so there won't be a need for AC or DoC.
Exactly yeah. Screw OG's plot and all the bitter ass hating ass OG purists. I don't want the FF7 story re-copied one for one. If that's what I wanted then I'd fire up my PlayStation and play it. I want the Whispers, I want more new content, I want Angeal, Genesis, Sephiroth, Jenova, and Glenn. I want Zack and Cissnei to be relevant and hopefully have playable chapters and major roles in the story.
@@jesse1381 So in other words you want the Kingdom Hearts bs. And all us "Bitter purists" have to put up with mediocrity being inserted to ruin a game we waited twenty years for, just to appease YOU. And you call the likes of me bitter.
Rebirth was so great. I'd definitely like them to just keep the next installment as their sole focus instead of working on additional projects. Then I'd like the see the 7 trilogy come to a close instead of milking out more. Instead, I've always heard really good things about 6 but never actually played it, if they started remaking that one maybe as a singular game it could be cool to have that as an introduction
They can still go with the OG plot and then the characters could be in different places and clip into that prospective I.e the part of OG when they return to Midgar and our main party is in sector 8 underground and maybe some of the others went to sector 2, 3 or 4. These are the only 3 sectors we don’t get to see
Speaking of AA games, and one from Square-Enix themselves, I gotta recommend for people to check out the Romancing Saga 2 remake. The game has been a blast so far and would love to see more games in this area from the company.
Would love when they would integrate Part I and II inside Part III. Like you fly towards midgar and you are able to get Back to midgar only If you have installed Part I, so the content of Textures etc can be loaded from this plus new content or routes. If you dont have Part I you Just Go to the new routes and parts of midgar but Not the ones from Part I
No matter how many times he says no DLC people are still gonna ask him every interview for the next 3 years and the rumors of DLC will never die. It's just how the gaming world is.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people were waiting for all 3 parts to be out to buy and play them. i think once 3 drops sales will skyrocket at least I hope they do.
I'm wondering what type of superboss they are gonna hide the knights of the round summon behind !!!! Looking forward to it!!!! I'm gonna take a wild guess and say there are gonna see a version of omega weapon from dirge of cereberus.
I hhave an idea! How bout we get to choose if we want Turn based or Real time on starting a New Game! The game can be heavy huge for having alternate playstyles but it is a win win!
I'd like to see an after Advent Children 90s style sitcom ... Sorta like Full House where we see the characters interact in every day life after all the villains have been defeated. Just because..you know.....why not?
honestly I don't think an Advent Children DLC would live up to expectations. even AC Complete is only a 2 hour runtime, streching that into something I'd be willing to pay $10-$20 is honestly just padding. One of the things I think turned away fans of the OG was that they made 1 game into a trilogy, personally I think it was the right choice but I remember my brothers weren't sold on the idea. AC could be a fun epilogue or free update, but a full price DLC to justify the price tag would feel more stretched than 1 book into 9 hours of screen time (Looking at you Hobbit trilogy). All that said. I think Squeenix needs to move on to FF17 next, maybe have another business unit handle the Dirge remake (unless they resolve the Deepground arc in Reunion, which I doubt since there is a demand for a Dirge remake). I think fans are going to want to see a new mainline title before we get back into remakes, despite my personal wish of remakes of FF8 and Parasite Eve.
Let us Fans and Gamers do our best to give the developers our support, in the meantime we should use the time to kill or knock it off, like focus on your hobbies, goals, families, embrace the outside world, treat your life motivate, work to survive, finding a soul mate and focus on yourself, instead waiting on disappointment 😒.
The big time action rpg games making lots of sales typically do not have 30 hours of story or cutscenes, they mostly have momentum based action combat, interesting dark art style, and difficult bosses. I think both of the recent FF games will end up selling more over time just economy is really bad right now so people more selective with purchases. Part of that was also one platform thing but not entirely.
Please stop milking FF VII, there is so many oppurtunity to expand heavily on the medium, not just in games either. Bro all I want is a Final Fantasy live action series and I can die happy. PLEASE MAKE THIS A REALITY. In an industry full of fantasy historical shows, like game of thrones, vikings, witcher, lord of the rings, ect. Where is Final Fantasy? How many years is it going to take before they realize the market for live action on this amazing franchise is ripe for the picking. and Yes I am up for new idea's for Final Fantasy (VII has been ran into the ground at this point, we don't need any more, get part 3 out and call it quits) Make room for fresh new worlds and characters, the franchsie will live on for generations but they need stop thinking that the whole series revolves around just FF VII.
No more games. But I want more content for the trilogy for a while. With a shared engine liké this I want Rebirth with loadout and part 3 enhancement. Same for Remake
I’m not.. necessarily opposed to new stories in the FF7 world being told. In a vacuum, I’d even say that sounds exciting. I’m just skeptical of the overall quality in which those stories or games would be told/made. SE has a knack for trying to get cute when they nail something. I feel that, they have found a winning-formula with the RE series from a gameplay perspective, and so when it comes to making games not within the major installments.. my hope would be they don’t opt to “get cute” and deviate too far from the gameplay formula they’ve cracked open. There’s a lot of reasons that Dirge isn’t seen with the highest regard, but I think.. if you made that game more akin to a classic FF story, where Vincent is the main Protag, and he recruits Cait Sith, Yuffie and maybe Shelke as the story goes on, and the battle system of the RE games is implemented, and some of that dialogue and story is rewritten to just be a bit more.. grounded. You already would be giving that game a chance to be a 7 or an 8 out of 10, rather than like a 4-6 depending on your persuasion of that original game.
I think they should put their time and energy towards part 3 and not shitting the bed with the PC port once again. Doesn't mean they shouldn't expand on the characters and stories in DLC after 3 is out, if they wanna put more content out there by recycling the existing work. More about Sids past, more about Yuffie and so and son on. Sure use 3 as a basis to extent the world beyond the boundaries of what is out there now.
There are definitely less AA games in the market these days, with the exception of Baldur's Gate 3 which did exceptionally well and won almost all the awards at VGA. So yes while there are less, they can still break through the market, given the quality and hype is there.
All these times I hear people wondering what the subtitle for part 3 will be called, am I stupid for thinking it will be.. Reunion? 😂 Also pretty siked to see how Vincent and Cid combat will be especially knowing we’ll lose cloud for at least part of the game.
The best way to get the third game made faster might be to not to waste time on 6,000,000 mini games ;). that said, ff7rebirth, baldurs gate 3, dragon age veilguard and spider-man 2 have all forgone or even outright cancelled previously planned dlc. i think devs are realizing that expansions can take just as long to make as an actual game and the cost in time and resources isn't worth what they can justifiably charge for an expansion compared to just focusing on making the next game. we're at a point now where games are taking as long to make as the console generations themselves (often adding even more time for games needing to account for overlap). half the games coming out on ps5 were made for the ps4, and now the ones made for ps5 have to account for ps5 pro upgrades on top of that. this won't be sustainable much longer without massive changes.
I hope part 3 comes soon, my 61 year old reflexes are getting slower day by day. I completed remake in hard mode but Rufus stopped my progress in rebirth, he's just too quick for me.
Hey NSP, regarding the place that you wanted to fully explore, I agree with you, that would've been sick. However, as I'm sure you know, the narrative will have us eventually returning to that place, which would be the best opportunity for them to have it be fully explorable. I really hope that they do that, but we'll just have to wait and see.
I think now they have the world built it would be easy to use that to build loads of stories in the FF 7 universe cheaply. Following a different group maybe set hundreds of years in the future. The possibilities are endless.
I have loved the Remake project so far, Rebirth was the best FF experience for me in 20+ years, but I need part 3 to be the end of it. This development and creative team is the one responsible for my favorite games in the franchise and after them being stuck working on the 13 trilogy for about 10 years and now the 7R trilogy for 12+ years by the time part 3 comes out, I really want to see something fresh and self contained in a whole new universe with new characters from them after part 3. Plus if the sales of Rebirth are any indication, I'd say it's time to wrap it up and move on, not linger with spin off projects that will dilute the interest even more.
The HD games department is operating at a loss according to a post I saw on twitter. Some people liked/loved Rebirth. It felt like stagnation to me though. Up to this point, they have refused to take any hard lines in the story, but they will be forced to in game 3. I feel like there is the biggest potential for them to lose customers with changes which is why they are saving that for game 3. In addition, the Aerith fans are probably ready to dip on game 3 and the fact that it's another sequel means sales are going to drop again. Unless they are under a contract to finish game 3, I don't see a reason why they would continue. I'm just not sure how they make money.

Rebirth has sooo much content that dlc would be overkill. Any ideas they have should just be placed into the 3rd and final game.
Very well put
This is lame, there is no dlc for rebirth just because rebirth sold poorly and they don't have money for it.
I hope they keep making games like FF 7 Rebirth.
@@jonathanpowell9376Rebirth managed to be both a better RPG and a better action game than XVI.
If the RPG aspect was simple but you were able to have as a big of a toolbag as Dante, then I wouldn't have thought too hard about it, but I digress.

dirge DLC after R3 thats like what intergrade was for yuffie but for vincent is a good idea imo, people love that character and would 100% play a DLC designed for using him solo in combat
advent children DLC also a good idea but theyd have to expand/rewrite some of that story to make that work as a game and it would prob feature mainly solo missions per character with the occasional team fight (cloud + vincent in the woods, entire party for bahamut, etc.)
Ain’t happening
Have you played FF7 Ever Crisis? They’re literally doing Sephiroth’s backstory as a child and how he got his blade Masamune and they just had a Cetra backstory last month. It was beautiful.
they couldn't even plan or get ff7 remake right, so why would they ever have the competency to release DLCs? Remember the non canon Yuffie DLC? Yuffie wasn't even in Midgar when the game oepened at any point until the Hojo mission came along. Its all fan fiction at this point.
I want them to make a proper version of Before Crisis, the Turks mobile game. Even if it's in the 'Pocket Edition' style like FFXV.
In the mid time it would be a great idea that they give us a Dirge Of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII Remastered.
Yeah I think that game is underrated.
They would have to update the controls. I wonder if they’d bring back the online portion of the game
*Reloaded, since Cerberus was his gun, and guns get reloaded.
It can just be the sort of upgrade they gave Crisis Core, rather than a full remake.

I really hope Hamaguchi gets to head a non-remake mainline FF. The guy has been incredible in terms of understanding fans and being transparent.
Please support Fantasian.
Hamaguchi san is one of the most respectable developers in this industry!

To me.
kitase said that their team won’t be working on ff7 games after pt 3 anymore but that doesn’t mean there won’t be ff7 stuff afterwards. kinda the same what hamaguchi said there

ff7 would have grown the franchise if it was a day one PC release, and on Xbox. The exclusivity limited its impact severely. Copy capcom in that sense.
hopefully it will get ported soon to at least expand it's accessibility.
Definitely this! So tired of exclusives.
Bull 💩 it wouldn't sell on Xbox.
A cbu1 Mainline FF would be wild…
Imagine if they make another ff7 game that has the same quality as rebirth, same combat system and whatnot, but tells the story of what happens after ff7. Sure you can throw Advent children in there and dirge in there, but you could combine them into a whole new story arc involving all of the same characters. I would love a Final Fantasy VII remake part 4
Fusion sword gameplay would be insane
I hope part 3 is more story driven
It’s going to be the most story driven out of the entire retrilogy. The crux of the story didn’t happen until after the second disc in OG FF7, which is where the third part of Remake will be continuing from.
I seriously can’t wait for when part 3 comes out!
Well, it has to be lol
I wanted a DLC to flesh out Zacks story more but hopefully that will be done in Part 3
I miss turn based 😢
I finally got a PS5 so I'm very excited to experience the new FINAL FANTASY titles!
I was told from a very reliable source that there will be a dlc prior to Part 3 that's very important.
I for one am happy they aren't going to make any DLC for Rebirth, because I just want them to get Part 3 out as soon as humanly possible xD
I have a question about nibelheim incident.
Of all people, why was Sephiroth sent to Nibelheim? Was that Hojo's plan? Or it was just by chance?
Jenova messes with people’s heads and manipulates them. Could be should caused him to be sent there?
@@rezamosleh4561 I am not quite sure and I could be wrong...But I heard somewhere that Hojo orchestrated it all. I believe the mobile game Ever Crisis delves into Sephiroth story so it is best to keep an eye on how the story progress there, through youtube(or just flat out play the game)
Hojo is very sadistic and twisted.
Yeah after part 3. They need to move on to a new project ffxvii or something
Maybe they should have just done 1 complete game to begin with. They’ve already shot themselves in the foot.
@@JC-cb8oi yeah the reboot of final fantasy VII is overly convoluted and bloated.
@@jesse1381 I don't really think we need new lore but hey what can I say I think the final fantasy VII reboot sucks.
Rebirth is so thicc, im glad theyre focusing on part 3.
Just wanna say that I always prefer when you’re on camera in your videos. Keep it up!

I'm glad he admits Rebirth was all about the game and the story was secondary. I thought I was taking crazy pills.
Crazy pills how so?
@@ocean_0602 Agreed. 80% game, 20% story.
14:24 What Final Fantasy VII Project is this?
Arcsys needs to make a Final Fantasy fighting game. This would be my favorite thing ever.
Can’t wait for it to come to steam
Maybe we’ll get to see more of Midgar in Part 3, when the party parachutes back into Midgar to stop Hojo.

YES would love an open world Midgar
FF7R 3 will release on Jan 31, 2027 regardless of how quickly or slowly they work.
I hope we get a port of Ever Crisis for Switch, that would be awesome!!! 👍🏿👍🏿
I'd settle for having rebirth brought to steam.
There are definitely less AA games in the market these days, with the exception of Baldur's Gate 3 which did exceptionally well and won almost all the awards at VGA. So yes while there are less, they can still break through the market, given the quality and hype is there.
Wait og ff7 sold 14 mil it's first release or all together?
All these times I hear people wondering what the subtitle for part 3 will be called, am I stupid for thinking it will be.. Reunion? 😂 Also pretty siked to see how Vincent and Cid combat will be especially knowing we’ll lose cloud for at least part of the game.
You gotta consider the fact that some of us have bought OG probably like 4 different times 😂
I really hope next FF title will be multiplatform at release. It really hurts their sales when they just released on Playstation
REBIRTH COMING TO PC!? 😃
Remake came 3 years later 🤷🏻♂️ Also XV
I would love a ff8 remake with rebirth combat system
