I’ve been watching your videos on crappie fishing. This winter has really been rough in east Kentucky with most of my local lakes iced over. Come on spring!

Hair jigs I tie myself is what I use 95% of the time. You can catch hundreds of fish on one jig. In my experience hair/feather jigs out fish plastic most of the time.

I pour plastic crappie baits and I tie crappie jigs. I like to put scent on hand ties because crappie spit them out in a mili-second. Scent or crappie nibbles will make them hold them a bit longer which is exactly what you want. It's a great hobby when it is too cold to get on the lake.

I found that hair really excels when in a vertical presentation on white crappie. Many times working better than live minnows. Not sure why that is but they can't resist a hair hanging over their heads. I just got my mustad 6"10" BLF spinning in the mail. Gonna catch some monster bass at fork this spring with it. Can't wait to try it out. Ill holler at you when you come down in May. Good luck this season, go get that blue!

I tie my own hair jigs, use them about 75% of the time. One big advantage, they don't get pulled off the jig head. Disadvantage is you have to cut them off and tie tie on another to get a different color. The 1st one your shoed is similar to what I almost exclusively use, but I use a white head with blue ice body and white tail. Good video as always, but you'll get more views and more subscribers if you post live sonar in a split screen.

If the bite slows down on a plastic I’ll drop down a small hair jig 1/32 oz on a#6 hook . And most times the bite will be back on. 5:33
