    Does the video show the bit where Willy Wonka designed the chocolate timing chain?

    The engine is pants, mine blew up at 75k requiring a rebuild, total cost 6.8k. You'll hear the same story by a lot of other affected owners.

    Runs like a pneumatic drill, sounds like a sewing machine and has a tendency to blow itself up at very low mileages.

    I have a 2020 XE P250. Most boring car I have ever had. And the engine is horrible. Noisy, course, thirsty as hell, sounds like a diesel when it fires up from stop start.
    It’s a 2L 4 pot and in all driving situations uses more fuel than my wife’s BMW M140, and that’s a straight 6 3.0 turbocharged petrol engine, it is silky smooth too, take note Jaguar that’s how you make an engine!! Even mapped to 430bhp it does 25% more MPG than the ingenuum lump in the XE.
    Avoid this engine.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  3 года назад

      I agree Barry. I will never buy an X260 Jag, P250 or not. Tata's influence is everywhere in it. It's beautiful from outside, but the quality of the materials, even down to the clips that hold the interior together are poor quality. Take a car apart and then you will see the true quality of it. The older X250 was of much better substance than the new one. That's why I eventually sold my X260 and went back to an X250.

    • @BaybieK

      @@carfanfan I thought it strange that you did that. Thanks for all the videos you've uploaded...saved my ass a few times. My XF has gone in for a engine rebuild after 6 months of ownership and 75k on the clock, total cost to rebuild and replace turbo, DPF etc 6,800GBP. Beautiful to look at but an absolutely crap car! Can't believe i got rid of my BMW 420D Gran Coupe for this lump. The Bimmer had 140k on the clock by the time i got rid of it and it drove like it was out of the factory, the only major work done was a new DPF which was my choice.

    Single-handedly one of the worst diesel engines made from a reliability perspective. JLR should be ashamed.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  5 месяцев назад

      and that's probably why they have decided to go all electric. Let's hope their electric motors are more reliable. Unfortunately, new Jags have lost their Jagginess and I think the older ones will become true classics. But only models as far as 2015.
