@@YoureMrLebowski If you think running 500 yards across open terrain is dumb and inefective then you are correct. But you're mistaken to think that's a fault of the movie, rather it is a fault of how the military kept using outdated tactics even when faced with new technologies. This also applies to the german pilot. Does he had a reason to kill Blake? Not really, but in the real world soldiers don't have a real reason to kill each other, only that they're enemies. So yeah, it is dumb, it doesn't make any sense and it's also extremely accurate to reality.
@ Crossing over the field like this was a tactic early on, but in 1917? Nah, they'd have combined arms of some sort at this point. There's a comment in one of the more viewed uploads of this scene where someone mentioned it'd have been even better if there'd been artillery on the Brit side, and I agree - bombardments were a staple of charges even back during the Somme. It's more than likely studio oversight that excluded those details from the film
That’s not true. 500 yards away is still a far shot for marksmen at the time, even if the lines are relatively close compared to others. For a sniper to immediately pick him off in the first few seconds isn’t necessarily a guarantee.

I do, I remember after watching saving private Ryan; I had the most tense nightmares yet. The 1917 music plays as I charged down the beach to reach Ryan before it was too late and we had to be in love to save Normandy to prevent more chaos. I loved the anxiety Ryan was feeling when I was charging down and the second I got to him, I just loved how he runs downstairs as fast as he could to comfort me after I experienced the horror of D-Day. Then it was Ryan and me vs United 93. That nightmare was so intense
absolutely, you had a great performance in this film. i found the moment where you said "burn the wound" so endearing, that will definitely by included in the "Death of Lance Corporal Blake".
The worst part is that this battle is just one of many. What's worse than that? Our grand family members (us and them as viewers) most likely have survived or partaken in this war.
These men went through hell for us. Remember that. But what I love about this scene in general was LC Schofield had his mission. Deliver the message to save his brothers. His brothers had a mission from their superiors to attack, to win the war. This scene actually did make me tear up because these men went through hell to win. As if its their last ever mission. Whatever it takes sort of feel. Arguably one of the best war films ive seen. Levels with saving private ryan.
I remember after watching saving private Ryan, I had the most intense nightmare of running down the beach of Normandy without getting hit by the huge explosions. I eventually found Ryan and the anxiety Ryan felt when he saw me running down to reach him; an explosion went off just seconds away from me and I was hurt by the explosion, it was gut wrenching how Ryan feared the worst as I crawled upstairs to the bell tower where he was, we finally were in love and countless lives in Normandy were saved having united 93 shot down because the plane had been loaded with rockets and we both could have easily died if I hadn’t completed my mission. Thank god me and Ryan will survive until the end and it will get more intense as the nightmare continues
"Why are you crying?" He's terrified. He's seen so many people die doing what he's been ordered to do. What he has to order his men to do. The fear has overcome him so badly, all he can do is weep.

Everyone hated the Colonel for refusing to stop the attack but you should know Colonel was doing what commanding officer supposed to be doing: sending reinforcements to the boys in front line so they could get the help & survive. Always been in history the higher ups send their troops to enemy lines without supplies or reinforcements to help them comeback home.
I experienced it in theatres myself and I was numb as hell! I can’t imagine what saving private Ryan would have been like in theatres when it re releases for its 25th anniversary
Amazing movie from start to finish! Awesome compilation bro'! That last run elicited applause from our local theater back in 2017, . . . Just BONE CHILLING!
Yea, I had the same music playing in my nightmares as I ran across Normandy’s beach so I could reach Ryan in time to prevent Normandy being devastated by so many loss of lives and it was just as well we were planning to be together anyway since I fled from United 93, I’ll never understand how Ziad eventually finds out about my disappearance from him; United 93 was officially Normandy’s target for destruction but, I had already reached to Ryan at that point and Ryan heroically authorised the plane to be taken down by the forces by the time I reached him. We both do return to Normandy a year after it was saved from the devastation that plane might have caused

Hopefully it’s the D-Day scene, that scene made me so numb hoping they get the heck off the beach and I cried when they did
The moment you hear that whistle... "Too late"
A great film deserved big screen for sure
What a bummer
I experienced it in theatres myself and I was numb as hell! I can’t imagine what saving private Ryan would have been like in theatres when it re releases for its 25th anniversary
Another good aspect of the scene is the message that you’ll always be too late to prevent death in war, but it is worth trying to prevent more.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

This was a great movie.
Amazing movie from start to finish!
Awesome compilation bro'!
That last run elicited applause from our local theater back in 2017, . . . Just BONE CHILLING!
One heart with courage is a majority
This by far the best movie reaction video i have ever seen!
The music made the scene more intense 😮😮
So many emotions
Watching this was hard as many of my family lost their lives at the Somme
Everyone is wondering, why the captain was crying? War is Hell.
5:13 When the British charged the no man lands of World War I, I’m sure they sounded like lions when they roared.
haha I know it's serious reaction but
0:08 "Fuck it, let's just pick him up & take him with us"
It's such a male thing to do. I don't know why we do that, just met random dude & decided he could be one of us. You never see girls do that. It's just funny.
One of greatest imax moments in my life
Carajo le quedo bien la compilación.
the captain has shell shock
he had to suffer this much just to meet Dominique Cucumberbath?
6,000 men charges into their death, they were just following orders man.. damn...
Nice scene
Amazing editing
This was a beautiful and horrific film
I cried 😢
Every time I seen that chick crying I couldn’t stop laughing Lmaooo
Mee too 🤣🤣

Freaking love this film
great job man
Wow. Epic scene. Epic reaction video. Brilliant.
So, very much loved watching these young people, veteran included, experience this majestic film,..don't think any of these brave people from that war are left, mom and dad had a friend, who lied to join the military, said he was I think 17, but in actuality was 14 years old, he was in second world War, and not many of them are left, if you meet one I implore you to thank them, this was them we watch, in a film, charging towards enemy lines, toward the bombs,..100 years ago,..putting themselves between us and the danger, as those soldiers did in all the wars there after, God Bless them always ,..took my mom to go see this, didn't ever take her see see a crappy movie, not ever, and she's not a war buff, only other war movie we saw together was with dad, Platoon,..for me an her even though some said it was nothing like how it actually was, but for us, as here, it was perhaps a glimpse into what my dad and his comrades went through,..you at least get why they may not want to talk about their experiences,..but my mom did relate to some aspects of the time she grew up in,..but like ya'll young people, she was deeply moved, by this character's arduous journey, the poor woman and the baby he encountered along the way, she loved it, truly an incredible movie, and time in history,..wonderful editing of the reactions, brilliant,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
okay, im going to have to watch this now
one of my favorite films ever
keep en coming! maybe shawshank redemption? Subscribed!
shawshank would be great. could it be THE most reacted to movie on youtube.
@@YoureMrLebowski and don't forget "The Green Mile."
@@ionari3674 green mile would be great. probably IS the most reacted to movie on youtube.
1917
all quiet on the west front
dukirk
fury
best war movies of all time💜
You did so well until the end with the still pics of reviewers but outside of that fire !
thanks. 👍🏼 i'm been working on a remake for over a year. it'll be something.
That girl crying is funny as fuck
she is so fake and annoying
@Curtis Winters You must be emotionally stunted then.
Leave Britney alone!!!!!!
I couldn’t control my emotions in 2020 but I can now that my mental health has improved. Saving private Ryan ruined me but I got my emotions under control
Muy buena edición. I love it
Nunca é tarde demais 😢
I wish there were more reactions to do a mashup of Valkyrie with Tom Cruise as the plot fell apart. War movies are epic.
This movie hits me different
did you know him running into those soldiers where accidental
I’m glad they kept it in to make it realistic. I remember screaming “Holy f***!” The whole time, I loved Schofield more after he made it just in time
run run run
Why have I watched this 5 times in one day
I think it's the building to the climax, the music, the tension in the voices of the reactors. It's one of those scenes.
Oh, and thanks for watching. :)
sooo perfect
