We did the average touristy, kitsch bus tour of Ireland, 15 years ago, and in a town called Auburn I bought a tin whistle (booklet and CD). A little more than a year later, my wife's physical health dived rapidly, in short, and some time after that we were in a dire financial situation. I took to learning how to play the tin whistle (thanks to book and CD). I have been a musician since childhood, and thankfully it wasn't too difficult to master (- my wife would beg to differ, but let's not dwell on that one). I went busking on the streets of Sydney for seven years with the tin whistle. We're no longer in the difficult financial times that we were. Some of these tunes are the ones that I played on the street. Tough times. Fond memories. Blessings from Australia 🇦🇺
I have Irish blood. I lived in Sandycove outside of Dublin as a boy. My family moved to the U.S. when I was 8. I'm 77 now and I've never known a moments peace since I left that blessed land. I hear this music; my heart aches and my eyes fill with tears that never spill over to flow down my face
I'm Irish, born in Derry. Living in the Netherlands. Crying as I miss my country and remembering my mother singing these sons when I was a child and man big. She has passed a month after I moved to Lelystad to be with the love of my life.

Many Irish men became mercenaries and there were entire units in the Spanish Army made up of Irishmen. More than likely one of the Irish soldiers in the Spanish Army married a local woman and you and your father are their descendants. Bernardo O'Huggins, considered "The George Washington of Chile" who led the rebellion against the Spanish in 1812 was the son of a Chilean woman and an Irish mercenary.

The foundation of American music!! When my people traveled across the waters in the early 1700s they brought this music with them as they toiled the soil in the fields of Appalachia.
Beautiful music. Definitely a crucial part of the foundation of American music along with African/Black music. American music is a wonderful mix of these cultures and musical traditions, plus Native American, Mexican, and other European influences. It's so cool! Country music exemplifies this and you can hear all these influences in it.
@@Wowatman It is in honor of some of my ancestors who fought against the Yankee's who invaded their land, burned their homes and stole what they wanted . Only about 10% of Southreners owned slaves, so the war was not fought to keep that evil practice of owning another human, it was fought for States rights.
Stop lying. Your ancestors were traitors and absolutely fought to maintain slavery. The confederate constitution is still at the UGA and clearly states as such. The south had the same rights as the north EXCEPT the right to maintain slavery and even tho only 1% had slaves they knew what they were fighting for. And your crying about sherman burning down the south but wont mention how union soldiers were treated in southern prisoner camp. Yankee pride , Go Buckeyes!!!!!

(How Could you Better such Beautiful Music 🎶 🎵 😍 )
Glorious!☘️💚
The foundation of American music!! When my people traveled across the waters in the early 1700s they brought this music with them as they toiled the soil in the fields of Appalachia.
Theres a lot of irish in the old appalachia music, still holds a sense of irish folk today
Beautiful music. Definitely a crucial part of the foundation of American music along with African/Black music. American music is a wonderful mix of these cultures and musical traditions, plus Native American, Mexican, and other European influences. It's so cool! Country music exemplifies this and you can hear all these influences in it.
A wonderful collection. I could listen to this type of music for hours. Thanks for uploading.👍👍✌

Amen!@Westfalenn
