      But to respect w. bpd trying to figure themself out and understand the reason behind their actions, that i can do. However as Tamron says, Joey needs to take responsibilty for their actions and own psyhology. They have contacted the victims. Good (i think(it was a little vague)). Now they need to better themseles before getting into the community again.

      Actually if you do some research we kind of do. BPD is a chemical imbalance which can make people do really scary things. I had a friend who used to have persistent thoughts telling him to kill his boyfriend. He ended up threatening him with a knife. So Joey has this personality disorder, then his dad abandons him as a child. Then his mum tells him over and over how horrible dad was. Then his stepdad treats him badly. He grows up powerless against being made to suffer by men. So it makes sense that as an adult, the one thing he craves the most is to take that power back.
      These are the kind of stories behind almost all abuse. Rarely are people abusive out of thin air. It doesn't excuse it, but if you don't acknowledge the backstory, it just means more people don't seek help/ understand their impulses so more abuse happens.

    I really would love to be understanding and forgiving, but his wordsss truly gave no clarity and admission to his fault. “I don’t wanna blame in on the mental health”, then to flat out saying that the videos weren’t for sexual pleasure (?), it was due to his “fear of losing someone” (?), that he “was surrounded by women” (?) and “didn’t have a good relationship with his biological and stepdad” (?).
    The entire interview had zero substance. I don’t know man, I’m gay, and I really do not want straight people to watch this and keep concluding that all gay men have daddy issues - because we don’t!
    I’d rather he just own up to the fact that he is a perv, and he made perverse decision(s) out of desperation and he is seeking for therapy and forgiveness.

    • @tojema
      @tojema 3 года назад +11

      As a mental health worker, in my experience I've seen that many people with BPD will have elaborate lies with their friends that are nonsensical, irrational or stemming from a need to feel "loved" or "wanted". I do think a factor of his catfishing was to have sexual control over "unattainable" men in his life who had no sexual interest in him, I agree with you on that, but I wouldn't say the cause is just "perversion", it's a shattered self image with a poor childhood foundation, that coupled with BPD manifested itself in him making these horrible self-protecting (once again irrational) decisions with no consideration for what this was doing to the people in his life.

    • @juicydelicious2004
      @juicydelicious2004 Год назад

      Perversion is not the reason. He said the reason. It out him in control. It's like calling a rapist a pervert. It's a control issue. Maybe because he doesn't have control of himself, but he created control over these individuals.
      It's a chemical imbalance. ...did you watch the same interview I did? Because I understood it.

They all go home, SP continues to do the catfishing, and fast forward to February of the next year, the show premieres. As the show premieres, the allegations came up, snd VH1 released the statement about SP being disqualified from the competition, and would not be in the reunion or finale. At the time of filming, the producers didn’t know about the catfishing. But SP wasn’t eliminated. The question "is it a multiple personal disorder? " revealed Tamrons ignorance of the matter. No. Those are called DID now and are dissociative disorders. It was obvious to me that he was referring to the category of personality disorders which includes narcissism, psychopathy, avoidant disorders (mine!) and of course borderline, an extremely common disorder, a complex form of ptsd which is caused by trauma. Aka nothing to do with DID at all. We the neurodiverse + mentally ill community are TIRED of having to explain basic concepts to people who should know better. Your ignorance creates stigma. Borderline is a very common disorder and people shouldn't have to ask what it is. Millions of people have it and it takes 2 seconds to Google it. Do better.

    • @tojema
      @tojema 3 года назад +1

      I 100% agree, she starts by saying that she's been a reporter for this long and at first I was wondering if she was asking rhetorically so the common viewer could tie it to something they have heard of in movies, but no, she prepped this entire interview but didn't bother to read up on the personality disorder that he had already shared publicly that he suffers from. Bringing up the incorrect name for DID discredited her and her jumping in with "and we weren't going to allow you to do that either" (blaming behaviour on mental illness). Fact is, that without BPD he wouldn't have done these things, that doesn't mean it's an excuse, but an explanation of how and why (which people find impossible to comprehend, they automatically are like "IT DOESN'T ABSOLVE YOU!" and label an explanation as an excuse). BPD can have you acting desperately and by any means necessary, so it's very telling as to how the whole situation came about. Not an excuse, but telling.

    • @schroeder666
      @schroeder666 3 года назад +1

      There is strong evidence that BPD is genetic. Saying BPD is caused by trauma is basically a fad belief with no concrete proof (having an abusive parent can essentially never prove you got your problems from environmental stressors since they may have mostly been genetics). There are tons of people with severe personality disorders who had comfortable childhoods and you can't explain their adult behavior by pointing to their childhood. It's a very wrongheaded argument which historically people have also used to argue that gay people and autistic people are products of bad parenting. You say "do better" but you should start with yourself. There is no clear difference between C-PTSD and BPD criteria other than one is more of an excuse than the other. A lot of the work people need to do is taking responsibility for their behavior - case in point.

      How is he the only victim? He sexually coerced men and made them think that they were getting a role and their dreams of acting/performing were coming true. People will do things that seem strange and uncomfortable for a chance that it’s legit and that their dreams will come true. To find out it’s your friend sexually exploiting you for their own pleasures is devastating and disgusting. Sherry is no victim to anyone

    Though I love your show Tamron, I have to say this that it would have been nice if you gave him some grace and could have perhaps give him some slack as in forgiveness and talking about forgiveness . He could have ghosted the world when accused like many who get cancelled but he chose to come on your platform . Sure many would say that since he was famous and got outed that’s why he is now sorry and it could be right but u really made him feel worst about himself almost suggesting that his mistakes were unforgivable or he committed a reprehensible acts . I’m not aware of the allegations and their extent but u could have gave him some empathy but u were very crass . Allah / God gives and forgives and man gets and forgets . When u and I ask Allah / God for forgiveness all day every day for ourself why can’t we offer that to our fellow human beings . Think about that ‘
