All of White Palace completed without landing on the ground (except for forced landings from room transitions). Hitless.
Extended Rules:
- Time ends on the frame that you land on floor in front of the throne.
- No landing on the ground except for forced landings from room transitions.
- Crystal dashing into a room transition and continuing along the floor is allowed.
- You must leave the ground within a second of gaining control after walking through a transition.
- All No Major Glitches rules apply. Don't use old patches for lever skips. Debug Menu for save states is allowed and recommended.
This was the toughest challenge I've done yet. It started with labbing and figuring out whether it was actually possible, which took some time on its own. I was really hyped to find out it was, using this specific ruleset anyway, but I wasn't convinced it was realistic due to the difficulty of the double sawblade pogo trick at 1:20. After practicing it for hours, I eventually became consistent enough at it to do runs... but this trick still single-handedly raises the stakes of each run by so much. Failing at any point after the trick means potentially spending ten to twenty minutes before you'll be able to get another run going, and there are numerous spots that are easy run-enders after that point too.
The visuals on the soul meter may be a bit glitchy due to save state usage. To be clear, this was an unsegmented run, but I used save states to restart the area if I messed up. Save states can cause visual glitches in the UI, which might be noticeable in a couple spots. I have one mask by editing my save data, which doesn't really make a difference, it's just for visual flair since I was aiming for a hitless run.

Before posting that I touched the ground somewhere, you are correct, but please read the rules in the description first. Upwards room transitions have a forced falling onto the ground animation after you go through them. Horizontal room transitions have a forced walk in animation. I am definitely aware of all of these, trust me.

You can perform horizontal transition during Crystal Heart dash, so touching the floor on 02:38-02:39 was a violation, as you technically flew into the room without forced walk in animation. Still, I don't really blame you, because I had difficulties in White Palace even without glass soul. Also, I believe that only a TASBot could cancel a flight and avoid touching the ground on such small height.
@@stenacher Your character's vertical position is grounded after going through a room transition with cdash. So it's technically not landing on the ground, just continuing along it. Continuing along the ground after a transition with cdash is covered in the rules, but I clarified that "you must jump off the ground within a second" rule specifically refers to walking into a room.

@@shadowfox6276 I wouldn't call WP or PoP easy by any means, but they are not the hardest platforming puzzles I ever came across. They cant get much harder though, because there is only so much you can do with pogoing before it just gets tedious

Fireborn needs to step up his game and finally do the "get hit by everything in my first run on this level" run, the "floor is lava" combined with the "Hitless" runs through white place is cool and all but it's all kinda easy

This was only done using save states to reload the entire level. It is not segmented.

@BigMacWeeb basically, a program that allows you to save even where the game would normally not allow you to save.
The conversation above, the post thought fireborn did this with saves, so any errors mean you only redo the room, and editing makes it all look like one run. But fireborn clarifies this is all one live run, so any errors means a full reset.

Thank you! In case anyone is wondering why I had to do that, the inside walls of that elevator room (above the doorways) are curved, so you can't wall jump on them at all.

Having just completed this section for the first time in about an hour last night can I just say that seeing it so utterly trivialised is absolutely ridiculous? Some of the sections you just breezed through took me dozens of tries to find a way through, though I am intrigued by the fact that I do seem to have found some of the sneaky shortcuts along the way :D

I don't want to disappoint, but PoP with this ruleset would be super easy except the second room, which would (if it's even possible) require a few ridiculous tricks. Overall though, it'd just be too similar to normal PoP to bother with.

@@zegreatpumpkinani9161 ruclips.net/video/a5EUUB5_HwY/видео.html at 1:25, the spot below the soul statue would be very tricky. 1:45 getting to the lever would be hard... after hitting the lever, you'd have to backtrack through the entire room, since going down that shortcut requires landing on breakable ground.... meanwhile all the other rooms would be pretty trivial, honestly not very different from a casual playthrough.
