People with hoarding often seem like such sweet people. I've had to make a lot of sacrifices for a parent with hoarding, but they seem to have such a beautiful childlike quality, where very single thing is like a special toy, and they want to experience everything life has to offer to the fullest, if only they had the time and the organization. I found in my house a little book of colored felt and it said "make a thousand pictures" and I'm sure my mother when she saw it wanted to use every single piece of it to make something beautiful, even though it never could happen. It's an inability to let go of anything from the past, or anything potential for the future.
