There will be none, I’m afraid. The next one, if we are lucky, will be on R.G. Collingwood's The Idea of History. At least, this is what the the course overview seems to suggest. It also tells you that they skipped Hegel’s Philosophy of History (covered, in another series, by Dr. Sugrue), Marx’s Historical Materialism, Nietzsche's Critique of Historical Consciousness (On the Advantage and Disadvantage of History for Life) and Weber Historical Sociology, presumably because lectures on these or (in the case of Nietzsche) similar topics are already online - though, judging by Dr. Staloff’s satorical choices, they stem from another series. Let’s hope that, in the fullness of time, all of these wonderful lectures will be made available, even those that seem to be doublets.

All of this is in Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series, funny enough. He tricked a lot of people that wanted to read about spaceships into learning the ebbs and flows of the life-cycles of human civilizations.

Should we distinguish Anglo-American civilization from Western civilization?
The cold war required the ideological fetishization of "The West" with a straight line from Plato to NATO. But two things delimited the West's historical progression: Greek philosophy and Roman empire, which became fused in Christendom.
The ideology of "the West" is mostly an anachronistic synthesis of ideas that follow a teleology which progresses toward greater and greater liberalism.
But the true historical West was the hulk of the Roman empire loosely held together by the Popes. Anglo-American civilization was always an outlier in this Roman tradition. English is not a romance language.
The US/UK are now synonymous with "the West" as a historical civilization. But Anglo-American civilization was born out of a revolt against the historical West, starting with the characteristic English revolt against monarchy and papacy in the 16th century.
Even today we speak of the US/UK as the West, but we should call them the North (Atlantic). White Anglo-Saxon Protestants have little in common with Latin Catholic civilization which defined the historical West as the remnant of the Roman empire.

I get that this is literally labeled as speculation, but man is this a hell of a lot of speculation.
I guess we all have to start somewhere to get anywhere, so I supposed Toynbee might as well start with this.

Segrue mentions Dr Standoff's lectures in a few of his lectures. He (Michael Segrue) speaks to his audience and says things like, "remember in Dr Standoff's lecture?" Not sure where you get your information from, but I would double check before you compromise your integrity on this platform. Just a suggestion.
And, as a precaution, I could be completely wrong. You, could have somehow been involved in creating this particular lecture. And known for the fact that there is "no audience." If this is the case, the platform is yours.

The jedi were wise teachers once, and their religion of the universal force helped foster the rise of the republic. Unfortunately, after thousends of years, they had become conservative and withdrawn and the universal religion had declined. As more and more planets and multi planet factions sought to evade republican control, including a massive increase in lawlessness and criminality on the outer rim of the galaxy, the stage was set for outright seperatism. The insuing galactoc civil war was devestating and forced the republic to militarize in response. However, a smal number of idealists attempted to stave off and even reverse this decline, to save the republic by recreating it as a universal state: first galactic empire. While it was easily able to decapitate the seperatists and rebels arrayed against it, as well as to destroy the final remnants of the once great jedi society, controling such a vast territory proved impossible. Soon, separatist remnants and new rebel factions arose and unified in response to the even more brutal tactics of the new empire which allowed them no place within it and who seemed to offer only terror as an arguement for However, upon defeating the empire, the new republic proved equally incapable of handling the crisis and their replacements, the so called new order, were destroyed within only a few years by a massive grassroots mobilization. Devestated by this third great crisis, the galactic civilization has finally collapsed. the galaxy now stands in a state of political chaos, confronted by the greatest power vacuum it has seen in millenia. Now, the last jedi retreats into incubatory excile the deasert, to reconnect with the force and rekindle a new awakening.
