This is the best 9 string playing I've heard. Most 9 string players could honestly be fine with a 6 string baritone or a bass vi but you made use of the range this thing gives you flawlessly 10/10
Thanks! Whether I’m playing an 8 or a 9, I try to avoid hamming it up too much on the lower strings. I like to use the low notes to add texture, and they are great for the occasional extra punch.
@@gazster When I got my first 7, I practiced a bunch of 6 string songs on it. That got me used to skipping over the bottom string. The same principle can be applied to 8’s and 9’s.
@@TheOccultationProject thanks for that, it seems the hardest bit is getting used to the feel of the extra string(s) there, i think i can still keep easter bunnies get drunk at easter tuning lol that's an easy way to remember it as they say and 7th string is a b.
It’s written and recorded. I never added vocals. I could just release it as an instrumental track. I have an EP in queue. Maybe I’ll throw it in there!
Now I need a 9 string. No playing games anymore. I'm buying the cheapest I can get that's got decent quality and my favorite feeling in a neck. A Jackson. Specifically their JS series line.
Thanks. I’ve never been a fan of complexity for the sake of complexity. Not knocking people who do that, as do respect good chops. I personally would rather write good songs and parts that serve those songs.
@@jayxofofficial glad you like it! That guitar rocks. It has a 30” scale and sounds amazing. It’s been aging beautifully. The color has been gradually shifting over the years.
@@TheOccultationProject i own a 10 string by agile, a pro pendulum 102730, also 30' scale. I own an rg90 by ibanez as a 9 string. I was looking to get your same guitar for xmas. What tuning you use/used?
IceCubeNETWORK!!! Thanks! It’s been a while since I recorded this one, so I don’t remember exactly what I did. I’m a 5150 guy. I typically boost with something like a TS808; then I run the signal into a 5150 or 6505+ and a Mesa 412. I like to blend the backing track with the live audio.
@@TheOccultationProject nice man, whats the scale length on both? its rare to hear a 9 that doesnt sound muddy as sh*t due to the insufficient scale length, or even an 8 for that matter
@@TheOccultationProject beautiful, thats what you want. Hard to find though, i think i might have to get an agile. My ormsby is a 28" and E is about the lowest itll go before sounding like crap (8 string)
@@Jordo619 Agile makes great guitars. I know they’re supposed to be ‘cheap’, but the craftsmanship in their higher end stuff is excellent. Mean tone too.

Thanks man! I try to keep it musical.
That was quite cool ... Not usually my style and many 9 string vids are just lots of noise, but yours was quite musical and clear ... 👍

@@TheOccultationProject could you share about going from 6 string like me and then up to a 7, 8, 9 it must feel strange and confusing for a while.

The beginning intro riffin sounds like a Parkway Drive track. Great vid tho
Didn’t know that! I suppose sounding like Parkway Drive isn’t a bad thing. Lol
Thanks for watching! ☺️

@jayxofofficial I have an Ibanez 9 also. The Agile 9 is better. I keep mine in standard tuning.
How long is that neck?
IceCubeNETWORK!!! The scale length is 30”. It’s a beast!

also what is the tone of the guitar??? the tone sounds so simple but its better than most of the tone's i have ever heard
