True, there are 'reporters' who don't get attacked because they don't actually investigate. They tell a pre-made, safe story that fits antifa's narrative, which is risk free.
He's not that kind of reporter. He actually cares about the truth.
But if you don't care for the truth, following the mainstream narrative is probably your safest bet. At least it will be a while longer before you become antifa's target that way, as they go after the truth-seekers first.

This is not a easy case. Which to be honest with, I am glad the bar is set so high for a call to action. We may think we know who he was calling for to be milkshaked. It is also plausible for him to be calling just for a certain subsection of right-wing groups. This is a much better case for civil action then criminal.

I just mention it because whatever happens in the US tends to happen in Australia 4 or 5 years later. So when Antifa showed up on our streets the authorities knew exactly what would happen. They acted quickly with the no mask policy and stopped the violence in its tracks.

Over the years, the federal government has intervened in cases like this. Mr. Ngo's fundamental civil rights were completely violated in this case, and if Portland takes no action, then they should act.

I’m a physician & it sounds that Mr Ngo sustained closed head injury w/ a brain hemorrhage. He may suffer permanent injury. There are a cascade of issues that can result from these types of injury. Forgetfulness - short & longterm memory loss, headaches, imbalance, seizures, etc & etc can occur. Continue to follow up with your neuro team & primary care team. Antifa & the mayor need to be prosecuted.

The footage of Andy walking away from that attack with his head in his hands was pretty heartbreaking. Anybody who has defended this behaviour really needs to take a long hard look at themselves.

I have seen the EXACT thing happening elsewhere (outside US) with these criminals. E.g. few years back there was an antifa march in the park and the local newspaper(s) run a story with interview of one of the march organizers who told how they are having peaceful march and want no harm to anyone. Peace and love and understanding between people etc.

@Kuuryo agreed and same here. It's also true that just because of political polarization, does not mean that a progressive perspective on certain topics is completely invaluable. Bret and Eric both provide some beneficial aspects of progressive thinking, all be it rational and not extreme versions. When ideology goes too far on the left or the right it is manifested in abysmal acts against the "other".
It would be nice if society was able to draw the positives from both sides of the political and ideological hemispheres. Unfortunately, right now, at least through my perspective, only one side seems to be willing to engage in courses of action that, seem to be aimed towards societal improvement and cultural harmony. While the other side seems to act only, at the very least, in ways that seem to impede possible positive effects on society, culture and the country as a whole. And at most to destroy any person or movement associated with conservative principles, evident here in what occured in Portland and examplified through Andy's terrible experience... Very sad and troubling times indeed.

I don’t agree that he thinks he was being naive, I see it more as him being courageous.
I wouldn't trust the press to report correctly, thoroughly, with any awareness of reality. Thank you so much for introducing everyone to who Andy Ngo really is, for getting the full story out about what happened to Mr. Ngo. I cannot express all the sadness, disgust, anger, helplessness, over this cowardly attack. Watching Andy on that video, trying to walk away, made me wish I could help him in the moment. Blow after blow, being surrounded and followed, no one tried to help. I'm 5'4" 130 lbs, female, no fighting experience. I believe I would have tried to help, at least taken his arm, to help him walk away. Humans treating humans this way is completely disgusting. The last time I felt this way was watching videos of black Americans trying to cross a bridge, no weapons, no shouting, being brutally, relentlessly, beaten with batons, dogs and fire hoses turned on them. Rioters, terrorists, Antifa are the worst of humanity.
