It's so beautiful! Incredible interpretation! You feel perfectly these pieces and Liszt.
I have at home the first italien edition of these Nuits d'été à Pausillipe, Milan, G. Ricordi, 1839 ! Rare edition. I am a french philosopher and pianist/organist amateur. Few months ago I visited Napoli and Posillipo! So beautiful !
I discover your discography, your RUclips channel (I subscribed to it). You are a great Lisztian with interpretation of rare and beautiful pieces. I have not finished to discover and listen all your music. I am so happy discover your talent! Very good job! Have a nice continuation with the repertoire that you love.

Wonderful performance, and lovely choice of paintings. There have been many excellent Italian interpreters of Liszt's music (I think of Sergio Fiorentino and Aldo Ciccolini in particular) and Signor Catena certainly belongs to that group. I have his complete 2CD set 'Venezia e Napoli' from which this comes, and the whole program is superb: choice of works, sequencing, playing and engineering, all first-rate. One of the finest 'themed' albums of Liszt's music for piano solo I've ever heard, and one of the most simply pleasurable. Thank you for posting! :)
