@@SmithsEuro hello, Smith, is there’s any possibility to contact you through any media? If possible i would like to ask about joining mk3 engine harness with mk1. I saw your video but the question is, that basically you need to only 1 black mk1 connector to fire up the whole system? Thanks
Depends what chassis harness your mk1 has Mine is a late westy fuse box But yea basically power ground and starter for a tdi. Youll have probably 5hrs just pulling apart the mk3 harness to get what you need from it
@@SmithsEuro thanks a lot for reply. yes in my golf mk 1 there is late ce 1 fuse box. without ceramic fuses. previous owner upgraded it. so now i'm prepairing to do a swap and colecting as much info as possible. Once again, thank you a lot for sharing your swap videos! Theyr're huge help for me.
RUclips's algorithm sucks. Took forever to find your channel. I like how you keep your projects simple and try to use as many stock parts as possible. Everyone else just throws money at their projects because their are too lazy to figure it out. Looking forward to more great videos.
Truly appreciate that man. I try to be as self sufficient as possible. Glad it shows through. I gotta get back on editing the truck videos, this helped give me a boost to edit. Appreciate it.
I'm getting the parts together for the same swap into a MK1 Rabbit GTI. Glad you are going first so I can learn from your mistakes,.. easier than learning from mine, ha. Are you using the stock AHU turbo? Did you make your own rear and trany mounts? And did you pull the front mount off the MK1 or is that custom too? Thanks for all the small but important details on this swap.
Im using the stock ahu turbo. Front mount is oem mk1 off the 1.6d Engine mount is oem mk1 gas mount Trans mount is tech53 02j swap mount kit that comes with a rear bracket that bolts to the oem mk1 rear trans mount combo
Its what came with the mk3 tdi so its well matched Its great to drive, i keep up with traffic on the highway no problems. Pass people going slow as well. Depending on how i drive and what nozzles are in i get high 40’s mpg
@fueledtoyz many different model of 02a trans This was the ctn vw tdi 02a Vr trans only bolt to vr blocks All vw 4cyl trans can be interchanged with correct parts to swap
What is the best way to bleed the system.. I have a mk3.5 cabrio 12v vr swapped with a 02J swap can't seem to get all the air out system. I changed slave and master w crappy advanced auto parts then switched to febi slave and bench blead the febi slave also.. had same problem with the 02A transmission also have to double clutch 2nd both transmission 3 slaves and 2 clutch masters later still exactly the same. I am under the understanding that 02j and 02a slaves are interchangeable? I'm stumped but thinking I have some kind of air trapped in the system but can't fathem how... I've tried bleeding it 100 times over the years.
@@SmithsEuro should I push fluid in or pull fluid out... I can't seem to get it to make a good seal at nipple was trying to figure out how to get something to turn into slave. Maybe drill out a bleader fitting.
I guess if I drill out a fitting wouldn't matter if I push or pull fluid just might work idk I used to love the car. Just slammed jammed grinded second all day every day. Then I blew differential.
Use a hose to the nipple to a bottle Pressure bleeder on the reservoir to 10psi 02a-02j slaves are different “lines different and 02j are plastic” But either can fit the trans
Awsome progress
Love the TDI life
Thanks a lot for the whole series. It will help me a lot during my swap!
No problem thanks for watching. Glad I could help.
Hopefully you’ll stick around for the other builds as well

Pressure bleeder is the best way.
