    I made my 1st no-knead bread this afternoon. I used what I had on hand as I didn't want to go to the store. All-purpose flour, Hodgkins active dry yeast (individual packet) small binder clips (because they were what I had). Folks, if the bread had risen much higher, it would have blown the top Loaf pans off. It was high, light and perfectly shaped. It was delicious & had not one hole in the center. Can't say the same for my unlamented, long gone bread machine. Coincidentally, Steve, I recently bought the very same Oster oven you have in the video.

    Ten Stars ***********. Just made my first loaf, Used Daddio's 8x4 pans (dim a 1/4 smaller). 3 cups flour, scaled ingredients .86 and first time perfect loaf. Delicious, the difference from the size of slice of store bought bread isn't worth mentioning. I don't have an oven, so was looking whether people have baked bread in a toaster oven and found you. Thank you a million times. Now to learn to slice.

    Thank you! I made my very first loaf bread today!!! Well it was a circle loaf because I only had matching metal pie pans...but it worked! I also used multi purpose flour ( I know you said in other comments that bread flower is better ) I wanted to try with what I had on hand and We were impressed. I am going to pick up bread flower for the next one! Thank you for your perfect explanation and recipe.

    2021-03-22 💗 🍞🥖Steve Gamelin taught me to bake my own bread. I have been making them for almost three years, I mix with dried garlic powder, all kinds of dried herbs, curry, nuts, seeds etc. but also, cinnamon, honey or with extra sugar then you get sugar bread :-) No one makes bread so fast, simpel and much easier as 'Steve from no knead bread'. I thank you a lot Steve😃 Much loaf love from the Netherland

    I skate by on .6 tsp of yeast and .6 tsp of salt with pure whole wheat flour (4 cups). Mixing with 2 cups of hot water. I also add 1.2 teapoons of sugar. Your bread pan idea is most useful now that I am considering purchasing a toaster oven to use while traveling. Thanks!
    I'm on a 'no oil' meal plan, so I would cover the sides and bottom with flour. It works in a glass bowl sitting on the bottom but not touching on the sides. However, the baking pan may have more sticking. It's all good, though.

    Hi Steve, love your videos very informative and interesting to just watch, I have tried your recipes, my only problem is the cups of flour, we must have smaller size cups in the uk because the amount of water when added leaves my dough runny and far too wet, it would help me greatly if you could give me an approximate weight in grams of flour in one of your cups. Just watched your video as I was searching for a 1 loaf pan recipe for bread. Like the idea of no-knead as these "hands" are getting old. The reason for looking for a 1 loaf pan recipe is because I want to try it in a solar panel cooker. If it doesn't work there, I know it'll work in my Colman camp oven. I have an old small electric toaster oven that isn't tall enough to accept the double pans. After trying your method in alternative ovens, you may have talked me into buying a larger toaster oven.
    Thank you for sharing your recipe. Off to see if you've already tried solar or camp oven baking using it. If not, that's OK. Your method should work with any sufficient heat source. Again, thank you!!!

    Thanks for this. My gas oven just quit and before I either 1) Call someone to replace the igniter and possibly replace the flex cable to upgrade to steel per new safety requirements Or 2) buy a new oven (they seem to be crappy these days according to reviews people write in about them--poor construction, and they last maybe a year before dying), I was thinking....hummm maybe a toaster oven could bake bread (I had just bought bread flour!) So I am shopping now for a good toaster oven! My question was "Can a toaster oven bake bread?" Well...you helped there. The two pan method looks doable and I do have a food thermometer to check the bread internal temp is at least 200 degrees = done! In your recipe, I would use distilled water since there are too many chemicals in our tap water, otherwise, I will try the recipe!

  • @eogg25
    @eogg25 7 лет назад +1

    Maybe its because my toaster oven is a little smaller than yours but The first raise was perfect, I used your temp setting and time but the bread seems a little to moist, its hard to say it cooked all the way but color wise on the outside was similar, maybe I will cook it a little longer next time. its a decent way to make bread if you don't want to use the oven. I had a bread machine years ago and found making bread with your way of doing it is easier and better. PS I have been making bread for a long time now The old fashion way and you can't beat home made bread, even if it does not always turn out perfect its still good. PS, This is for the consumer, I go to Gordens food store to buy yeast, you can get a pound of yeast cheaper than the size jar you use. its a real savings and its good yeast.

    HI Steve, I went out and got all the ingredients and tools you suggested to make your toaster oven bread, however I forgot about the lamp for proofing and I don't have one like yours. :( not sure how to proof it now. No nonsense, straight forward instructions. :)

    • @artisanbreadwithsteve

      You don't need a lamp... you can proof in direct sunlight, use the "traditional" method and proof over night, or use the oven light method as demonstrated in "World’s Easiest Homemade Dinner Rolls (No-kneading and bakeware will shape the rolls for you). You may want to check my RUclips channel or website (nokneadbreadcentral.com) for all the options. Steve

One of the hardest thing for me when making bread is kneading the dough because it is either sticky of I have to add too much flour. Thanks.. Thanks Thanks.. for your videos. I have two questions; do I have to adjust the ingredients if I use wheat bread flour? and what is the reference of your oven? Mine is Oster but there is not enough space for placing the molds like you do. I am looking to buy a new toaster oven and yours looks a nice size. Thanks
