They got one of the best Paladin/Mage racial I believe too.
You forgot to mention that a BIG reason why they joined the horde is that they were kicked out of the Alliance by a racist general. After their banishment, they were left vulnerable to the lich King. The only faction to come to their aid was the forsaken. Because of that, they felt they could rely on the Horde.

Saurfang for example was present during the second war, in which the Horde at the time razed a lot of Quel'thalas. Long before it happened, Blood elves were racist towards every other race on Azeroth, thinking themselves better than them. One example is Stromgarde asking them for help with the trolls, and the Blood elves denying because they were human. In short, Blood elves are whiny bitches and massive hypocrites.
Oluf The Explorer what other choice did they have? The alliance almost executed Kael JUST BECAUSE A NAGA HELPED HIM CROSS A FUCKING RIVER. Its not logical, maybe, but most of the horde is like that. They didnt become allies because the other races looked friendly , but because they could only survive together. Btw not all elves are like that. There is no way Alleria saw Rhonin just as some dog that learned to speak. But yes thoose belves in Zandalar saying "i want that ugly old temple in the background in photo. So primitive" make me want to buy a race change.

She has natural talent for the magic and was at first only considered sorceress by the Kirin Tor because of that. She managed to earn herself further training as a wizard as supposed to stopping on being just sorceress(Kirin Tor mostly trained women with natural magical talent and rarely if at all allowed them to be wizards and not sorceresses). Wizards are usually those who earn their magical power through dedication and study as opposed to naturally talented sorcerers. So Jaina in a sense rigged the system, even if that system is fundamentally was opposed to her due to her being a woman. So she was both born with innate magical talent and also got more advanced scholarship as a wizard that allowed to expand her power even further. And aren't she also had focusing iris with her during that time? Which would power her up even more, that could explain how did she managed to beat them, But I might be wrong and maybe it was only her own power during that time period.
Johnny The Dark blizzard just makes humans so strong sinne they are like the originals and as i Said the face of the alliance. The BLood elves have been practicing magic since they were highborne and they are a race made to be mages.
You should have mentioned the blood anima golem magic that they learned from the events of the thunder king that allowed them to practically hold their own against the full force of the legion at Auchendoun in WoD Draenor!
@@MrMix1212 basically the whole thunder king patch of MoP was the blood elves learning how the mogu's golems work, then you see the elves using blood golems to defend auchendoun in Terokkar Forest in WoD. Since the Blood Elves realistically make up a fairly small portion of the Horde, I think it's safe to assume that if their presence is enough to turn the tide against the Legion with the golems, then they must be pretty strong.
Blood Knights are the superior Paladins if you go around Lore. They can use Light without needing to "believe" in the light. Also the Mages are always on top of the human mages - there are still some exceptions
Welp one might think, if High Elves shared magics with the early human tribes so they can help them with the Trolls, that they kept most of their secrets to themselves. Same goes for the Kirin Tor. In other words, blood elves are scary.
The bloodelves or highelves were strong.. Strong enough to be on arthas' purge list before the coming of the legion, that statement alone has alot to say about the highelves being a capable force to be reckon with
I'd like to add that since the Throne of Thunder campaign, they also have acquired Anima technology and have Anima Golems supplement their Arcane Golems, making up for their lithe physique with heavy machines of war.
I love a good Warcraft history video. One of the things that saddens me is how many WoW players have *no* idea of Warcraft history pre-WoW. There's 15+ years of documented lore, yet so many players are ignorant. The elves of Warcraft are the most varied and changing of the races. - It's an interesting point of lore that's never really addressed: how we still have "High Elves" in WoW (Alliance; blue eyes and fair skin/hair), usually part of the Silver Covenant, that aren't a playable race. I get that lore-wise they might be a bit lackluster, and given the model-riggings of the Void Elves, would be identical, save for aesthetics... it still should be implemented.
I play blood elf a lot of the time because I like the 2 zones. Even when I make a goblin or dk I often go to the start of the blood elf zone once I'm out of the starting zone.
Technically the group that became Blood Elves left before Malfurian and Tyrande had enough power to have them exiled. The smaller groups exiled later like those from the Wolf heart novel kind of suffered for this.
Blood Elfs are thr strongest playable Race. No fear of Magic Arcane/Fel. Very old, so much knowlege, trainig (Weapons) uses Light from the Sunwell ( Paladins) high tactician (Farstriders) and have Spellbreakers. In conclusion, they are just a smal amount of Blood Elfs but they are very powerfull.
There have the best mages on the planet aside from blue dragons perhaps. Their ranger skills are on par if not superior to trolls and their skill agility and speed makes them vastly superior to humans in a 1v1 (not to mention potential decades or even centuries of training/combat experience). Perhaps the Night Elves are equally strong with the druid magic, the blessings of the aspects and their "natural allies" which we barely see in WoW. Whoever played WC3 knows how hard it was for the Scourge that just (easily) defeated Lordaeron and thus had tons of new "recruits" to conquer Quel'thalas. Funnily enough the vast majority of notable mages are humans and no elves
@@lytherael2309 we do have lore on them, not old lore like the non-allied races, but its still lore. when the sunwell was purified to be a source of light magic, all blood elves in silvermoon that practiced void magic were hunted and cast out of silvermoon. they continued practicing in ghostlands for a little while, one of them made a mistake and got them all trapped in the void after opening a portal. then alleria and players discover what happened to these elves and set out to save them because alleria believes the void can be harnessed as a powerful weapon like all other magic. we save the void corrupted elves trapped in the void and out of gratefulness that the alliance saved their lives, they forgive the past grievances blood elves as a whole once had with the alliance and join the alliance.
Uh, their skin didn't change due to the magic of the Sunwell, it changed because they lost their immortality upon being exiled, so they grew smaller, while losing the purple color of their skin. You also forgot to mention one of the most powerful mage classes unique to the Blood Elves called Blood Mages, which can summon Phoenixes to fight at their side like Kael'thas' Al'ar.
If it wasn't for Slyvanas blood elves/high elves would of been killed by Lich King army completely. Slyvanas knew she was going die fighting Lich King. She was all alone well her sisters wasn't there helping her. Slyvanas been suffering. All she wants is to go back to her normal life with her sisters and her people. She tried do that but people wouldn't except her who she is and what she become thanks to Lich King. Slyvanas deep down inside she is heart broken but since she dead its hard for her to have emotions. Slyvanas will forever be remember as hero for Blood elves.
Actually, if Sylvanas hadn't fought Arthas and making his conquest harder than it needed to be, no harm would have come to the elves. Remember that he was only there to resurrect Kel'thuzad, nothing else.

She didn't come back due to events that led to her being trapped in the Dark Beyond. Vereesa though... not sure where she was at the time... I don't think it's specifically stated anywhere, in which case it's an oversight by Blizzard. Regardless, no one abandoned her, they were just not there at the time of the events.

I really wish that the Blood Elves joined the Alliance again, even Lorthe'mar considered this choice when Varian asked him but due to Jaina's action to be specific Garrosh's machinations as using the blood elves to steal the Divine Bell Jaina purged the Sunreavers from Dalaran forcing Lorthe'mar to stick with the Horde. But I think that in the future the Elves would join the alliance again or even if they don't many would learn and study void magic.

Question: Did high elves (or do blood elves right now, for that matter) had a part of their military that's not Rangers just normal foot soldiers? Like, infantrymen? Or did their whole military just consist of battlemages and rangers?

Are dk the strongest class lore wise? i mean those who fell to the lich king and risen again were already heroes before turning into dks, which means they have knoweledge on other roles f or combat (like being mages, hunters etc) and can technically use them as much as their dks skills
The original elven race was not night elves, they were the elves of magick. The night elves did not practice druidism until the twins were born! Night elves came AFTER the original high elves!
Pandaren are kind of in the middle. A decent population, lots of land, an ancient race with lots of experience, aid of the celestials, etc.. They have good infantry with their Spearguard, excellent toe to toe fighters with their monks, which also make up healers and brewmasters. They are smart, strong, lots of mass for a size advantage, and cook good food. They have city-large populations w/ both Huojin and Tushui. As a whole, they are very strong at the moment, with their only shining weakness being the sha. I'd say 7/10 power wise.
Just remember Arthas and the scourge may not have won if it weren't for Dar'khan Drathir betraying the high elves and helping the scourge get through the defensive gates.
Was his mission time sensitive? I wonder what would have happened if he took too long to get kel'thuzad rezzed would they have abandoned the invasion alltogether to find another powerful source to bring him back.@@MyViolador

In small numbers blood elves are strong but as an overall race they are just barely a footnote in lore. Theres just too few of them to bolster any army which is why they are usually seen in advisory roles, and elite guards.

Kael'thas was stronger than Jaina as a mage, and Rommath is very close, as is Aethas Sunreaver...Medivh and Aegwynn were guardians so they do not count, they have the power of hundreds of mages at their disposal. As for Khadgar...he was the student of a Guardian, and also posseses Atiesh, so he is on a level most mages don't reach. And if you really think about it, BEs are better mages simply because they can live longer and thus learn more, to go along with their natural aptitude for magic.

You never mentioned the iconic spell breaker. So deep is the blood elves' understanding of magic that they can dismantle almost any spell

So Jaina in a sense rigged the system, even if that system is fundamentally was opposed to her due to her being a woman. So she was both born with innate magical talent and also got more advanced scholarship as a wizard that allowed to expand her power even further. And aren't she also had focusing iris with her during that time? Which would power her up even more, that could explain how did she managed to beat them, But I might be wrong and maybe it was only her own power during that time period.

You should have mentioned the blood anima golem magic that they learned from the events of the thunder king that allowed them to practically hold their own against the full force of the legion at Auchendoun in WoD Draenor!

@@MrMix1212 basically the whole thunder king patch of MoP was the blood elves learning how the mogu's golems work, then you see the elves using blood golems to defend auchendoun in Terokkar Forest in WoD.
Since the Blood Elves realistically make up a fairly small portion of the Horde, I think it's safe to assume that if their presence is enough to turn the tide against the Legion with the golems, then they must be pretty strong.
Blood Knights are the superior Paladins if you go around Lore. They can use Light without needing to "believe" in the light. Also the Mages are always on top of the human mages - there are still some exceptions
I find the Eastern Horde has the more challenging starting areas than their Kalimdor Horde counterparts.
Welp one might think, if High Elves shared magics with the early human tribes so they can help them with the Trolls, that they kept most of their secrets to themselves. Same goes for the Kirin Tor.

I'd like to add that since the Throne of Thunder campaign, they also have acquired Anima technology and have Anima Golems supplement their Arcane Golems, making up for their lithe physique with heavy machines of war.

There's 15+ years of documented lore, yet so many players are ignorant.
The elves of Warcraft are the most varied and changing of the races.

It's an interesting point of lore that's never really addressed: how we still have "High Elves" in WoW (Alliance; blue eyes and fair skin/hair), usually part of the Silver Covenant, that aren't a playable race. I get that lore-wise they might be a bit lackluster, and given the model-riggings of the Void Elves, would be identical, save for aesthetics... it still should be implemented.
I play blood elf a lot of the time because I like the 2 zones. Even when I make a goblin or dk I often go to the start of the blood elf zone once I'm out of the starting zone.

Technically the group that became Blood Elves left before Malfurian and Tyrande had enough power to have them exiled. The smaller groups exiled later like those from the Wolf heart novel kind of suffered for this.

Blood Elfs are thr strongest playable Race. No fear of Magic Arcane/Fel. Very old, so much knowlege, trainig (Weapons) uses Light from the Sunwell ( Paladins) high tactician (Farstriders) and have Spellbreakers. In conclusion, they are just a smal amount of Blood Elfs but they are very powerfull.

There have the best mages on the planet aside from blue dragons perhaps. Their ranger skills are on par if not superior to trolls and their skill agility and speed makes them vastly superior to humans in a 1v1 (not to mention potential decades or even centuries of training/combat experience). Perhaps the Night Elves are equally strong with the druid magic, the blessings of the aspects and their "natural allies" which we barely see in WoW.
Whoever played WC3 knows how hard it was for the Scourge that just (easily) defeated Lordaeron and thus had tons of new "recruits" to conquer Quel'thalas.

@@lytherael2309 we do have lore on them, not old lore like the non-allied races, but its still lore. when the sunwell was purified to be a source of light magic, all blood elves in silvermoon that practiced void magic were hunted and cast out of silvermoon. they continued practicing in ghostlands for a little while, one of them made a mistake and got them all trapped in the void after opening a portal. then alleria and players discover what happened to these elves and set out to save them because alleria believes the void can be harnessed as a powerful weapon like all other magic. we save the void corrupted elves trapped in the void and out of gratefulness that the alliance saved their lives, they forgive the past grievances blood elves as a whole once had with the alliance and join the alliance.

Uh, their skin didn't change due to the magic of the Sunwell, it changed because they lost their immortality upon being exiled, so they grew smaller, while losing the purple color of their skin. You also forgot to mention one of the most powerful mage classes unique to the Blood Elves called Blood Mages, which can summon Phoenixes to fight at their side like Kael'thas' Al'ar.

If it wasn't for Slyvanas blood elves/high elves would of been killed by Lich King army completely. Slyvanas knew she was going die fighting Lich King. She was all alone well her sisters wasn't there helping her. Slyvanas been suffering. All she wants is to go back to her normal life with her sisters and her people. She tried do that but people wouldn't except her who she is and what she become thanks to Lich King. Slyvanas deep down inside she is heart broken but since she dead its hard for her to have emotions. Slyvanas will forever be remember as hero for Blood elves.
Actually, if Sylvanas hadn't fought Arthas and making his conquest harder than it needed to be, no harm would have come to the elves. Remember that he was only there to resurrect Kel'thuzad, nothing else.

Great video, watched the undead one too. One thing though, the character height 5ft-6ft is not 170-180cm it should it be 152cm to 182? 10cm would only be a 4" difference.
I really wish that the Blood Elves joined the Alliance again, even Lorthe'mar considered this choice when Varian asked him but due to Jaina's action to be specific Garrosh's machinations as using the blood elves to steal the Divine Bell Jaina purged the Sunreavers from Dalaran forcing Lorthe'mar to stick with the Horde.
But I think that in the future the Elves would join the alliance again or even if they don't many would learn and study void magic.

Are dk the strongest class lore wise? i mean those who fell to the lich king and risen again were already heroes before turning into dks, which means they have knoweledge on other roles f or combat (like being mages, hunters etc) and can technically use them as much as their dks skills
I think he already did "How strong is class X" for all the classes and there he mentions DKs being very strong but being surpassed by Demon Hunters

Pandaren are kind of in the middle. A decent population, lots of land, an ancient race with lots of experience, aid of the celestials, etc.. They have good infantry with their Spearguard, excellent toe to toe fighters with their monks, which also make up healers and brewmasters. They are smart, strong, lots of mass for a size advantage, and cook good food. They have city-large populations w/ both Huojin and Tushui. As a whole, they are very strong at the moment, with their only shining weakness being the sha. I'd say 7/10 power wise.

Just remember Arthas and the scourge may not have won if it weren't for Dar'khan Drathir betraying the high elves and helping the scourge get through the defensive gates.
An attrition war? Arthas would have won in the end, only that it would have taken him a little bit longer to defeat them.

In small numbers blood elves are strong but as an overall race they are just barely a footnote in lore. Theres just too few of them to bolster any army which is why they are usually seen in advisory roles, and elite guards.

Kael'thas was stronger than Jaina as a mage, and Rommath is very close, as is Aethas Sunreaver...Medivh and Aegwynn were guardians so they do not count, they have the power of hundreds of mages at their disposal. As for Khadgar...he was the student of a Guardian, and also posseses Atiesh, so he is on a level most mages don't reach.
And if you really think about it, BEs are better mages simply because they can live longer and thus learn more, to go along with their natural aptitude for magic.
Really, the Blood Elfs NEEDS a change in power. Lor'themar absolutelly sucks.
