@budinlancaU I haven't bought a starter culture in over 3 years. I harvest half of each bottle once a week. I add a few drops of F2 fertilizer in each bottle, and put 1.019 salinity saltwater to top off each bottle, and it grows. I do the same thing every week. I use old LED lights that are on for 12 hours and off for 12 hours set on a timer.

16oz is a very healthy dose. How big is the tank and what kind of occupants?

I dose 16 Oz every other day. I have a 200 gallon tank, with a large Maxima clam, a ton of Euphyllia, and a few SPS. Also 19 fish, from Tangs, Angels, Wrasses etc. I have been dosing this amount for years without adverse affects on water quality, etc.

Hi there! When your phytoplankton is a nice dark green. I harvest mine once a week. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them! 😁

what micron rating is that filter sock?

    • @WRASSEREEFCHANNEL

200 microns....technically a coffee filter would work as well. I don't use filter socks in my sump, so I had these old ones laying around so I used them.
