1:58 I had a few bus drivers who would do that... did that. I grew up in a really small village in Germany. Basically there is just a clinic and less than a dozen family homes. My older sister and I were the only kids in the village. The bus stop was actually a bit off the village at a crossing with the road connecting other villages. There were no issues when my sister took the bus to school. But when I came to elementary... So note that although it was a school bus only taking kids from 5 villages to another village, the busses used were regular busses used for other lines during the day or for charter. So for the first two years of elementary my mother walked with me to the bus stop where we had to be unmistakenly visibly waiting right on the edge of the road or otherwise the bus drivers would speed by. Even though it was one of 6 total stops and they had to take me every morning. This also meant that we couldn't dare to use the bus shelter as it was oddly set off the road and not clearly visible from the road; you would have had plenty of time get into view IF the bus drivers were not speeding. As I mentioned the busses were regular line/route busses and so they had buttons to signal the driver to stop; if I did not press the button in time the bus drivers would speed past my stop; if I did they only lectured us kids on not pressing the buttons as "they knew where to stop"... as they sped past my stop; then I had to walk back on the road to the crossing; this went on for all of my elementary school years and usually also happened during my secondary school years with the sole difference that it was a regular line/route I had to take; which still meant that they usually had to make a hard stop from speeding and sometimes still lectured the passengers not to press the buttons in the middle of nowhere
34:00 well... Spiderman did NOT kill Norman; he did kill himself with the glider and Harry doesn't know that Spiderman just didn't stop the glider with his own body; apparently Harry believes that Norman was lying there naked and then Spiderman broke into the Penthouse and stabbed him; the scene in the other movie, where the butler far too late reveals that Norman was stabbed just makes this worth; it also implies that the butler hid the crime from the authorities completely if you think about it, they would have tried to figure out where Norman was killed and what kind of blade the murder weapon was; AND they would have questioned Harry about these things alot since he would be a prime suspect; he better had a solid alibi for the time of the murder and no questionable transactions in his financials so yeah; the movie just asks for a lot to have us ignore that no critical thinking happens inbetween the body drop scene and the burial scene
Tobey now has the age Willem had when he shot the first Spider-Man, time really flies by. Also, MJ was dressed as Gwen Stacy in the scene when Peter took her a picture for the “school news paper”
So fun fact, the bridge that MJ is on in the final confrontation between Spidey and Gobby is a reference to the George Washington bridge, which is where the Gobmeister kills Gwen in the comics.

It's part of his signature style. The ring announcer during the wrestling match is played by Bruce Campbell, star of the Evil Dead trilogy and Sam's longtime friend.
Fun characterization fact!! Willam has a natural gap between his two front teeth and when the Goblin is in control, the gap is present. When Norman is in control, the gap is not present. Why does Harry instantly assume Spider-Man killed his dad? So a thing that these Spider-Man movies don’t do a SUPER good job of showing, that is more prevalent in the comics, is that a vast majority of New York do NOT like Spider-Man. They think he’s shady for wearing a mask and only doing his heroics mainly at night (he’s a highschool student, he only has free time at night). So it’s entirely possible that Harry already didn’t really like Spider-Man just in general and seeing him next to his dads body was just a solid reason as to why. I am very excited for this recap to No Way Home. That movie was the Marvel movie of the year and I can’t wait for you to see it!!
My parents gifted me Spider-Man for Christmas when I was 5, maybe 6 years old (I'm 27 now), and DVDs had just become popular to buy. Spider-Man was the first superhero I remember being introduced to and to this day, he's my 2nd favorite character after Wolverine, who is my favorite superhero period.
William Dafoe is a god. Dunno if you're much of a game player but theres an older playstation game called "Beyond Two Souls" where he played a part in it. Such a good actor. And his versatility is off the charts.
This is my favorite Spiderman (actor and movie). Having said that i do love all 3 Spidermen. Their takes on this character are so different and fascinating to watch, but Toby will always be #1 for me, his take to me has heart....plus he's the OG so...🤷♀️...cant wait to continue this Spiderman journey with you!
Every other climactic superhero fight is like little kids throwing water balloons at each other compared to this... this scene actually terrified me as a kid and made me think maybe Spiderman wasn't gonna make it
I still think Tobey's Spidey was just as good as his Peter. He wasn't as quippy, but he embodied the fun loving and heroic aura that Spidey always had.
11:36 $2500 got you a pretty solid used car in 2002. That got you a half-decent car even in 2011 when I bought my first car. I copped a somewhat rugged 240sx for $1200 and took it to my Driver's Ed classes. That little car was insanely fun.
This movie is a great addaptation of spider man, the key differences from this movie and the later movies with Tom Holland is the fact Peter and his friends are kinda old, perhaps too old. You actually mention that fact in the beginning. Willam DeFoe as per usuall does an outstanding job portraying the green goblin and is in my opinion the best thing about this movie.
I’ve always loved Tobey’s trilogy even 3 except for the shitty Venom, but personally now that we’ve had Andrew & Tom do their versions, Tobey was a better Spider-Man than a Peter Parker. Each actor portrays the character differently but they’re all perfect performances. Bro I love the jump scares, it fricken kills me 🤣 You’re a legend for keeping the jump scares in the edited video!!
This Spiderman was my childhood, Dafoe and Simmons truly captured their characters and any new actors for their roles will have some large shoes to fill. I loved the New Yorkers fighting Green Goblin. Kind of bittersweet as it was a nod to 9/11 and people looking out for another. Oh and it introduced me to Nickelback, been a fan since then and still have Hero on my playlist.
Just in case you aren't aware, Spider man is actually far stronger than he lets on. he is constantly pulling his punches by A LOT, in order to not kill the people he fights as we all know he he is too good hearted and never wants to kill people.
I still remember the day this movie came out. The hype was immaculate and that was without youtube back then. This was the first live action hollywood Spider-Man movie. The way Tobey’s Spider-Man looks, fights and gets beat up is still unmatched. Everytime his suit gets battle damaged they would look like pages from the comic book. Lastly, having Raimi a horror movie director do this movie was that extra spice or curve ball this genre needed to set it apart.
FYI, I've seen many say Netflix Daredevil season 1 is in 2015, around Age of Ultron, season 2 is during 2016 and season 3 in 2018 but before Infinity War, Matt, Karen and Foggy blipped and Kingpin didn't and rebuild his empire, thus Hawkeye in Christmas 2024 (Also, Kingpin is NOT Dead! Flash is honestly lucky that punch he took didn't splatter him into mist. Peter had no idea how strong he was and could have obliterated him on accident.
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I saw a YT short recently that perfectly showed this in the MCU. First strength comparison is for Captain America vs the Winter soldier when they fight and how much Bucky's punch affected Steve Rogers. The second scene is from Civil War when Spiderman catches Bucky's punch like it's nothing and says "You've got a metal arm?". Spiderman is apparently stronger than I ever knew.
it’s fun watching your reactions to movies youve seen, but don’t remember all that well. The movie hold up quite well. The second one still holds up even better
Stan Lee’s original vision with Peter Parker was that he was an ordinary kid that had problems that most teenage kids go through. That’s what makes him so relatable as a character. And I agree with you that Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of Peter may be the best out of all the other versions. Also, the original comics had a very cheesy tone when it came to the dialogue and overall demeanor of the storytelling. We a see a few good examples of this in the film: -During the Green Goblin attack scene in Time Square, the girl who yells, “it’s Spider-Man!” -Spider-Man calling Green Goblin “Gobby”. -The short cuts of different New Yorkers speculating on who Spider-Man is. This is how the comics read and I think Sam Rami (the Director) really emulated Stan Lee’s comic book style and tone.

Originally Spider-man's webs didn't came out of his arms. In the comics, and in the ASM and in the MCU he uses a web-shooter. These movies had the idea (that a lot of comicbook movie uses) to change a bit in the original story.
The fact that they had to redo parts of the movie and trailers due to 9/11 is undescribable. There were promotional videos for the movie, including the Twin Towers... The part at the end, the New Yorkers on the bridge, was filmed post 9/11 for a New York Strong representation.

That mirror scene performance Willem Dafoe gave us, reminds me SO MUCH of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. BRILLIANT! One of my favourite performances by him.
As I mentioned the busses were regular line/route busses and so they had buttons to signal the driver to stop; if I did not press the button in time the bus drivers would speed past my stop; if I did they only lectured us kids on not pressing the buttons as "they knew where to stop"... as they sped past my stop;
then I had to walk back on the road to the crossing;
this went on for all of my elementary school years and usually also happened during my secondary school years with the sole difference that it was a regular line/route I had to take; which still meant that they usually had to make a hard stop from speeding and sometimes still lectured the passengers not to press the buttons in the middle of nowhere
34:00 well... Spiderman did NOT kill Norman; he did kill himself with the glider and Harry doesn't know that Spiderman just didn't stop the glider with his own body;
apparently Harry believes that Norman was lying there naked and then Spiderman broke into the Penthouse and stabbed him;
the scene in the other movie, where the butler far too late reveals that Norman was stabbed just makes this worth; it also implies that the butler hid the crime from the authorities completely
if you think about it, they would have tried to figure out where Norman was killed and what kind of blade the murder weapon was; AND they would have questioned Harry about these things alot since he would be a prime suspect; he better had a solid alibi for the time of the murder and no questionable transactions in his financials
so yeah; the movie just asks for a lot to have us ignore that no critical thinking happens inbetween the body drop scene and the burial scene
You vibing to J'me Tire was very far down my list of things i expected but I'm so here for it
Bro the jump scare scene strikes again 🤣🤣
Tobey now has the age Willem had when he shot the first Spider-Man, time really flies by. Also, MJ was dressed as Gwen Stacy in the scene when Peter took her a picture for the “school news paper”
So fun fact, the bridge that MJ is on in the final confrontation between Spidey and Gobby is a reference to the George Washington bridge, which is where the Gobmeister kills Gwen in the comics.
3:03 actually insane coincidence if u know what i mean
8:20 Fun fact, that took 156 practical, (real/non CGI) takes.
18:27 "Guy with eight hands. Sounds hot." was Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess, Spartacus, Ash vs. Evil Dead)
i love alex's reaction at 7:58
😂😂😂
Hahaha me too🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's so funny to me how easily these kids (e.g., RUclips reactors) get scared/startled. (Or maybe they're just performing for our amusement.)
@@ericjette2435 before you claim things to be fake, have you ever watched a movie with headphones on? When I watched the conjuring I was alone with headphones on full blast. I urge you to try that.
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault Sorry if I offended. I didn't realize it was the sound that startled you, I thought it was the brief image that flashed on the screen. No, I don't usually watch movies with headphones on unless I'm on a plane or something like that. (Why would you have them on full blast? That's on you.) Anyway, I still think it's funny that you're so easily startled, but I find your, uh..."sensitivity" rather adorable.
2:20
Man I’ve been there, it’s so awkward when someone looks like they’re waving at you, you wave at them and then you realize they were actually waving at someone else
Remember, the guy who directed the first three Spider-Man movies - Sam Raimi - got his start directing the Evil Dead horror movie trilogy. So be ready for more jump scares, Alex. It's part of his signature style. The ring announcer during the wrestling match is played by Bruce Campbell, star of the Evil Dead trilogy and Sam's longtime friend.
So cool! I loved the style of this movie so I can’t wait for the next ones!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault he also directed doctor strange multiverse of madness
I remember re-watching this probably ten years ago and realising Joe Mangenello played Flash
Holy shit I never noticed, It's gotta be the beard/stuble honestly that makes him unrecognisable as Flash imo 😅
12:30 -- That Oldsmobile belongs to Sam Raimi and it appears (whenever possible) in all of his films.
Bro I can’t stop replaying that jump scare. 😂😂😂
Yoooooo the fuc*ing jump scare has me dyinnngggg. Yo laughed so hard I lost my breath I swear for like a whole ass minute😂🤣😭😭
I am ashamed at how many times i replayed the jump scare you had man lol
William Dafoe is a god. Dunno if you're much of a game player but theres an older playstation game called "Beyond Two Souls" where he played a part in it. Such a good actor. And his versatility is off the charts.
AT&T scooped Cingular, that’s why AT&T used orange and blue colors for some years
3:10 Deadpooooooool
Omg that “fuck off harry” got me
20:25, I remember Cingular too it was owned by AT&T
Bro you probably won’t see this - But your reactions are so fun to watch and thank you for reacting to my childhood
That little car was insanely fun.
yep but inflation
I will NEVER stop being amazed at how much this younger James Franco resembles James Dean!
Just in case you aren't aware, Spider man is actually far stronger than he lets on. he is constantly pulling his punches by A LOT, in order to not kill the people he fights as we all know he he is too good hearted and never wants to kill people.
gods i've seen this movie thousands of times, but Uncle Ben dying and them grieving always makes me tear up/cry 😭 it's pure pain man
I love that the plates and everything he cathes was all practical. He actually did it
I still remember the day this movie came out.
If you like Willem Dafoe then you definitely need to watch a film called "To Live and Die in LA" on of the classics that people never talk about.
The jump scare was the funniest shit. I'm here 11pm weeazen
FYI, I've seen many say Netflix Daredevil season 1 is in 2015, around Age of Ultron, season 2 is during 2016 and season 3 in 2018 but before Infinity War, Matt, Karen and Foggy blipped and Kingpin didn't and rebuild his empire, thus Hawkeye in Christmas 2024
(Also, Kingpin is NOT Dead! He'll return in the Disney Plus series Echo and Daredevil: Born Again)
31:50 all the New Yorkers are on the bridge because there was just a massive explosion and a huge car wreck. So they all got out of their cars and watched what was happening. Great reaction tho!
I've been really enjoying your energy to reacting to shows and movies. Your very funny and creative in your comments and little gags you do. Keep it up and my suggestion is to watch Wednesday or That 90s show
Honestly so glad you like them!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault Been following you since you were doing music reactions for awhile and I'm so glad to see your growth and how comfortable you have become on the camera. My favorite video is actually not a reaction but how you took the time to share your opinion of the others reactors like Leo aka Mr Video and it warms my heart.
Flash is honestly lucky that punch he took didn't splatter him into mist. Peter had no idea how strong he was and could have obliterated him on accident.
100% facts
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I saw a YT short recently that perfectly showed this in the MCU. First strength comparison is for Captain America vs the Winter soldier when they fight and how much Bucky's punch affected Steve Rogers. The second scene is from Civil War when Spiderman catches Bucky's punch like it's nothing and says "You've got a metal arm?". Spiderman is apparently stronger than I ever knew.
it’s fun watching your reactions to movies youve seen, but don’t remember all that well. The movie hold up quite well. The second one still holds up even better
thanks for watching with me Ryan!
We a see a few good examples of this in the film:
-During the Green Goblin attack scene in Time Square, the girl who yells, “it’s Spider-Man!”
-Spider-Man calling Green Goblin “Gobby”.
-The short cuts of different New Yorkers speculating on who Spider-Man is.
This is how the comics read and I think Sam Rami (the Director) really emulated Stan Lee’s comic book style and tone.
I can't wait for you to get to No Way Home! So glad you're rewatching these films Alex! Love the jumpscares as well 😂 Never scared me since I pretty much breathe through the horror genre but still lol!
Do you watch Deadmeat? If you don’t and love horror you will love that channel
Recently my 4 year old daughter watched three films with Toby. She really liked it. My emotions are indescribable. After part 3, she wanted more
Great reaction Dude! 🤘 I love the way green goblin in this film doesn't have some long-ass origin story and boring-you-sh..less monologue. He's norman, goes does the experiment, goes nuts becomes green goblin badda bing badda booom! (No pun intended 😂) Great stuff!
love you James 💙
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault Haaha! Thanks me old Geezer! You're one of my favourite People. Never change! 🙂👍🤘 Best wishes from the UK.
The OG Bully... I mean Tobey Maguire himself!
7:02 100% looking at his web shooter
Originally Spider-man's webs didn't came out of his arms. In the comics, and in the ASM and in the MCU he uses a web-shooter. These movies had the idea (that a lot of comicbook movie uses) to change a bit in the original story.
The fact that they had to redo parts of the movie and trailers due to 9/11 is undescribable. There were promotional videos for the movie, including the Twin Towers... The part at the end, the New Yorkers on the bridge, was filmed post 9/11 for a New York Strong representation.
I remember watching this movie many times as a kid and I had it on VHS with the Spider-Man add of the toy web shooter in (I WANTED IT SO BADLY).
I love the casting idea of getting an actual goblin to play green goblin
It’s illegal to miss the hyphen in Spider-Man. 😂
Man, Uncle Ben's death hits harder these days. A lot of little parts of this movie do now, actually.
Right?!?
3:06 Deadpool and Wolverine ❤💛
