Nearly finished Nona the Ninth- Obsessed with The Locked Tomb series, it's incredible, I highly recommend it.
For context, “go loud” is a term that means “do what you have to do, even if you have to blow your cover.” I was confused when I fist read it because Camilla was quiet as she fought, but she’s “going loud” by not limiting her skills during the fight
I've played so much Payday 2 and 3 that I didn't even realise this until I read your comment. (Anytime you're not going stealth in the game is always referred to as "going loud" by the playerbase)
I felt so bad for Marta. She just a good soldier and following orders. Judith doesn't realize how in over their heads they are.

@@RomanvonUngernSternbergnrmfvus I believe the commenter meant it as a reference to a Star Wars meme, specifically a quote from a clone trooper named Tup, from the Clone Wars animated series.
Tup says 'Good soldiers follow orders,' after the behavioral modification biochip in his brain, laced with (at this point, still secret) programming to turn on and un-alive his Jedi superiors on behalf of Darth Sidious - Order 66 - effectively malfunctions due to decay in the biochip, causing him to fall victim to the programming way ahead of schedule.
He enters a total fugue state, reciting the quote before un-aliving Jedi Master Tiplar in the middle of a heated battle against Separatist forces, to everyone's shock and horror. It kicks off a story arc where several central characters attempt to investigate the true nature of the clones' biochips.
The fandom often uses the quote as a reaction-type meme to describe enacting horrible atrocities for a reason as comically dumb as a request from a superior (or simply a more common and practical request which's phrasing was taken far too literally), or due to Manchurian Candidate-esque brainwashing accidentally prompted by a specific trigger phrase being uttered by a civilian through sheer happenstance, often the words Order 66 due to the aforementioned meaning it holds in the fandom.
Ex: _Me after listening to the McDonalds' cashier call out Order #66 and I see that a kid standing nearby is wielding a toy lightsaber,_ *"Good soldiers follow orders."*
Gideon's little arm around Harrow and then them immediately separating was very cute.

This took my breath away. Thank you so much!! Everyone fawns over Camilla, and I get it, I love her too, but as an obsessed Palamedes-stan, this made me very very happy!! You pictured him exactly as I do - both in my mind and on paper. I think I'd melt into a.puddle if you ever did one of just him pudhing up his glasses on his nose.
Bored Ianthe and Babs mirroring each other flanking Coronabeth was brilliant.
The best part was when their expressions change to "Wait, what the FUCK" as Camilla shows she's a WAY better fighter than they expected

Went and picked up the whole series because of this video and your recommendation. Less than a hundred pages into the first book. It’s different to what I expected but still good.

My only complaint is I wanted to see the scene play out through "Death first to vultures and scavengers" - or, really, the whole audiobook.

It's all wonderful, especially the fight choreography, but my absolute favorite part is Judith's look of doom when she realizes what she's gotten Marta into.
the LEGENDARY dressing down that palamedes gives judith is also such a delight afterwards.

CAMILLA MY BELOVED. This was exquisite. Their expressions are divine. I’ve been waiting for this scene to be depicted.
The narrowing eyes when she takes the sword to her arm gives me chills every time. I love this so much and getting to see Cam (especially fighting Cam) like this makes me so happy!!!
This is gorgeous I love this so much. Cam's little smirk when she's given the instructions for the fight was exactly what I wanted, and then all of your choreography for this was stunning.

I watched through once, then watched through again to see just what the hell the choreo was because god of damn!! Love seeing how you draw the characters, keeps the shots interesting. Decent backgrounds too! The lil doodles at the end are a delight too.

Very nice, this was an awesome scene. Though this animatic just reminds me the ending of this book and now I'm depressed again. Not sure if I can continue the series after reading this book.

Marta has no complaints about Cam's fighting-style, actually. She's a career soldier, and kicks weren't forbidden under the terms of the duel. That complaint sounds more like something Naberius would say.
